Agree been looking. It’s almost like a range refresh is due or imminent.
If you watch closely none of the American style fridges are, only classic single door ones fall somewhat high in the new scale
It’s not that efficient according to the new Standards from match 2021.
Don’t have those issues in Scotland - drink straight from the tap Also my kitchen / dinning room is all open plan so suits me to be able to have the fridge anywhere without having to be limited by water source.
For me that defeats the purpose. Filling up the water everyday from the tap means it's also un-filtered water. If you're going to do that just buy a normal fridge and fill up empty bottles of water and use that. The whole purpose, for me, of an american fridge freezer is the capability to have chilled, filtered water on demand (and ice maker) without the faff of going to the tap everyday to re-fill it myself. I guess people like them for the size/capacity also but i was really disappointed when i realised they had changed the mechanics of these fridge freezers. They also only have dual compressors in them these days too. Cheaping out on components and design is why the newer models aren't lasting as long imo
Despite the bad reviews above, I can only tell about my experience. I've had this for a few years now and it's been great. Solid fridge, doors feel solid, takes a bashing as it's continuously opened and slammed shut numerous times a day and it's still going strong. Looks good too. Yes, the likes of LG, Samsung etc are better but much more expensive too. This in my opinion is a good mid-range fridge, if you're cash strapped.
It's interesting that the Hisense fridges only offer 2 year limited parts warranty, whereas LG and Samsung offered 10 years on the compressor. Expect this to be linked with the lifespan of components.
Absolutely TERRIBLE brand. I would never pick a Chinese owned company over a Samsung or Siemens after experiencing 3 breakdowns within warranty and ultimately claiming a full refund via a grueling legal processs. Terrible customer service, terrible engineering and truly a horrid ownership experience overall. Stick with LG, Samsung, SMEG, Siemens, Bosch, Neff, Miele, Electrolux, AEG etc.
Thats weird. Mine definitely feels chilled. Maybe its something to do with that I live in an old cold bungalow? (excited) I guesss I should compare the temp of my tap cold water and fridge water.
Thank you, you just changed my mind about buying this fridge. Will be looking at the LG instaview as its wife's favorite :)
Since buying the fridge I've had nothing but issues. Started with a leak under the fridge. I've turned the ice maker off, but it turns itself back on. Even when the ice maker is off, it still makes ice. The doors are spectacularly difficult to open. And the fridge door has also started to scrape when opening and closing. I spoke with Samsung and they said they'd replace it BUT they'd need to collect the fridge first and the new one will be delivered 7-10 days after they get the old one back. I told them I can't live without a fridge for that long as I have a family of 5. They then said they send an engineer to look at it. This was 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard a thing! The emails and telephone communications are atrocious. We just go round in circles. They've said 3 times they've arranged an engineer visit but not one person has yet come or even booked a date!!! They escalated this list week and even then no comms whatsoever. I'm at a total loss as to what to do now!
Mine isn't chilled. My tap water is colder than the fridge.
Hi, can you confirm if you get chilled water from the dispenser as I read that it's only the water at tap temperature?

Ooft stay well clear of this. Absolute rubbish. Our has been repaired about 5 times now. Constant fan issues/noise like a helicopter. The whole freezer door being replaced and the ice maker inside the fridge with pipes also needing replaced.
Ahh I remember my days as a student... Wasting my student loans on Samsung American style fridges because I got 20% off with my NUS card. Those were the days
I have just checked via unidays, and same coming up at even cheaper. See below £920
There are so many different Samsung fridges the mind boggles with no obvious reason to buy one over another apart from aesthetics or superfluous functionality. I was looking at one on JL which is £1199 and is a series 8. So this price for a series 7 seems about right. https://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-rs68a8840b1-freestanding-65-35-american-fridge-freezer-black/p5403662

I have different model. But the point is they are all sh...t. Do some googling and see yourself.
But this doesn't have a water dispenser??
I've been known to take out a trial subscription of WHICH fer just such an eventuality...let the experts do ALL the testing, and note the "Best Buy" just an idea ;) https://try.which.co.uk/which-brand/?source_code=911CUJ&gclid=CjwKCAjw6fCCBhBNEiwAem5SO5VnpUuXifIidwivDzBY5R5a_ifS6ihLeZzUcTjvJi0FwQQ6f7wtrBoC4pYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I bet it is annoying, especially if something frozen lands on yer FOOT :o No draws OR drop-down doors?, that's just plain daft. 4 x Draws & 1 x drop down door in my 5 year old Fridgemaster freezer, and it was cheap as chips from AO. I can't remember how much, but it HAD ter be cheap...if I bought it (cheeky) XD
Had this for 6 years, no issues, a little loud though

not been to one in a while, you would loose lot of space with it in situ. Glass isn't toughened on these and you wouldn't want anything not flat on the shelf, if its resting against the plastic edge that's not good, you would need it central.
It’s 250mm wide and 400mm long. It just about fits in a standard fridge. How does the fridge side of this compare to a normal fridge?
You should be ok
About 6kg I think when full
What's the weight of it ? out of mind that model has slivers for shelves I think, might even have shelf balance warning sticker on it.
Nice. But I need more freezer space. Need to rid of the chest freezer in the kitchen as it sticks out like a sore thumb. Why can't kitchen designers integrate a chest freezer nicely?
Ours was £1200, 3.5 years old, no end of problems, luckily loads of repair videos on YouTube, I'm shocked a company like Samsung wouldnt have quality controls in place to stop the design making it to market. I won't touch Samsung for anything other than phones.
The 20% off is also for non epp purchases
Not entirely sure it is correct for EPP, I see in Ebay listings that it does not work with EPP

LG GSL460ICEV 591L American-Style Fridge Freezer - Dark Graphite £854.10 delivered with code @ Currys£854.10 Free P&P FreeCurrys PC World Deals
Exactly the same as me, cant seem to find any proper recommendations online for anything. looking to spend around 1k on it. Looked at a few LG, Samsung, NEFF but still no idea.
Can anyone recommend this one? or something similar for the price please?
What are LG's like vs Samsung? Struggling to find decent unbiased comparisons. What is the go to brand for American fridge freezers if not LG or Samsung? We have a budget of 1400 but obviously the less we spend the better.
Great deal (y) shame it is not an unplumbed one
Bought one on the boxing day sales, fantastic fridge freezer with massive capacity, super quiet too. Have to say Currys were a joke when it came to delivering the thing to me, I got it 10 days later even after paying extra for express delivery.

We got this in the summer. A little boring but generally a Great item. And well priced
Price change, now £449, £404 with discount
So what actually is the rating?
useful to know, wasnt aware of the energy ratings changes (y)
I just want to add... My negativity isn't towards the deal @Chanchi32 posted, I've voted hot, and purchased this exact model 10 days ago, when also on offer. I just think currys should be more transparent in their advertising, as upto Feb 28th 2021, this will be advertised as A++, but on March 1st 2021, will be advertised as an F.

Is there a code that brings it down to this price? Shows as £506.98 for me
me too, and totally agree. can't fault it after several months of use
I also have this, really good, there is one small caveat though. The handle is a recess between the fridge and freezer. If you absentmindedly open the fridge whilst closing the freezer and vice versa it traps your fingers badly. I've done it, husband has done it, the kids have done it.

I’m the guy that has to deliver and install these. PLEASE measure your doorways and hallways before you order. It’s amazing how many times I have to take them away with me because people just don’t realise how big they are
Purchased this one in stainless steel for £500 just over 6 month ago as needed to replace my separate tall fridge/freezer . Have had no issues what so ever and there is enough room to fill for a family . Only downside for me is that i do miss having the extra width in my separate tall standing freezer for bulkier items but this still does the job that i need . The fridge is very spacious and the drawers deep . Water dispenser comes in very handy and works very well for us as a family . Not noisy at all and door alarm is useful so little ones( or bigger ones lol) remember to close doors properly . Looks great in my kitchen . :D
I know what you mean, we use window cleaner on ours works great but you can see dust sticking to it within days (mad)
Ditto. Had ours over 5 years no problem. Great fridge freezer with good capacity. Only issue is the black one is a bugger to keep clean. Wish I had gone silver.
Ive had this fridge 3 years not a single problem, i read about all the fan and pump issues after ordering and got worried for nothing, great fridge freezer with lots of space

How can this be over 600 degrees hot when people are saying it's rubbish... Must be alot of ***** or trolls on here
Decent enough FF. we’ve had one over two years, similar to those but door instead of drawers. I know you shouldn’t need to defrost these modern ones but the fridge did stop working once after 6 months, but after a defrost it was fine and has been 18 months later. Keeps everything very fresh for longer than our previous Bosch FF that sadly died after 6 years.
Strange comment from you. Of course I know most things are made in China. Some is made cheaper and more slap dash than others. How is my comment strange? How is it uninformed? I bought a couple of Kenwoods at the same time and can see the quality o f the components for myself. The wiring is the absolute minimum thickness they can get away with. I know that as I have replaced it on both appliances myself with a thicker gauge where it is has split and broken after just a couple of years.
So is Hisense, Haier, Hoover and loads of other brands. Bosch has a lot made in Turkey and Beko. LEC, Stoves all make in China some. So I guess you dont buy Chinese at all? Dont forget the Korean brands. Very strange uninformed comment...
I have a Haier A3FE635CGJE, got it from ao.com. Its absolutely fantastic. The freezer drawers are amazing, so convenient. This should be the standard design for fridge freezers, don't know why most freezers have a door and then drawers behind them.. seems so stupid after you've used the Haier. Also love the MyZone.. keeps my beers sooooo cold. Couldn't be happier with it.

I too have ordered the LG for £764 and it’s due to arrive in the first week of Jan. I’ve seen the LG in store and it looks good. Good size too. From what I’ve read LG are really good for American fridge freezers, but this LG and the beko here both come with 2 years manufacturers guarantee. The LG is plumbed though, so I’m going to keep it.
This one or LG one, you are mentioning here? Also looks like they don't have it in stock and will be delivered in 2-3 weeks? Did you get yours early?
