Which Derby store OP? City Centre or Kingsway?
This thing drains pretty poorly so it goes manky quite quickly

I don't think people are really fussed about the brand of their bin. They just want a certain style, size and colour. So for that reason I put the alternative cheaper version.
Bit of a daft comment really. People that want a simple human bin will want a simple human bin not a bribantia one. Make your own hukd
Hence why I said similar one.
It’s also bribantia - not simple human???
Mine arrived this morning, very nice looking and also finger proof (y)
From my own experience I think they are poor quality for the price. If you buy, save your Amazon receipt, mark your calendar for when 5 year SimpleHuman warranty expires. I’ve had 3 replacements during that period. Wire rack: rust. Sides: rust, protective layer peeling off. Feet: crack in plastic surrounding support hole, protective layer peeling off Wine glass rack: protective layer peeling off. Reviews mention same problems: https://www2.simplehuman.com/uk/steel-frame-dishrack-with-wine-glass-holder-fingerprint-proof-stainless-steel-grey sort by lowest rating first. You don’t get the bamboo knife holder insert mentioned in the Amazon description anymore. Used to have two rows for plates, now only one.
For £60 I want it to wash the dishes too!!
ordered the last one. never ordered a used one before lets hope its in good nick!
£45 from warehouse
Does it wash my dishes too?
Gross things whether they drip or not.....
good thing about these: you can replace the brush and keep the handle/mount the brush is suspended in air and isn't constantly sitting in a pool of filth
Currently have two of their bins, lid spring broke and motor replaced. Soap dispenser, chromed plastic coating came off. Shower dispenser, handle broke (replacement ismetal instead of plastic) Dish rack, rust (replaced 3 times). So, I just keep getting free replacements or parts from them under their 5 year warrenty. Appears as if this is more profitable for the company than making them properly in the first place.
What's wrong with getting a load of bunched up toilet roll and cleaning the toilet bowel and under the rim and flushing it all before washing your hands thoroughly?
Looks kinda like the shape of my old Ford Capri Gear leaver ....and it was S**t to use as well ... 8)
There is only one review for this item
I'm truly confused with this, I like the picture and it's just what I was looking for but the description and the reviews seem to be for a different product, a floor to ceiling shelving unit with 3 shelves. But one of the photos in the reviews is of the over shower caddy... Who knows!! Maybe I'll just order it and hope for the best!
Ah, i miss those days before retirement when i was in so much of a rush i had to clean my teeth in the shower.
Unless you use short fat products everything falls out if anything like this
Are these the ones you can put without having to drill holes on the tiles?
Back up to £99.99
all gone back up to normal price.
Excellent customer service from SimpleHuman
I would say that it's unlikely that this bin will be as reliable as the brabantia - so it's horses for courses. As for whether you can return the other bin - not sure but ask them - they may want you to pay for return postage....
Thanks. Reason I ask is because I bought the Brabantia from Ebay the other day but now wondering if this is better value for money and is good - should I return that and go for this - saves some money too?
Ordered the SH 40l slim one earlier thinking this was a bargain at £35 half price but then just seen on Dunelm site for £24 so cancelled Tesco
They sold me a washing machine when they didn't even have any to sell. Drips
Expire this, everything is OOS.
It’s bin along time since I’ve seen deals this good!
A deal that's difficult to refuse. Boom boom!
For that price I want it to vacuum the house, mop/polish the floors, change its own bin liner then take itself outside to be emptied come back it & wipe itself down with disinfectant.. Is that too much to ask for...!?!? 😝😝😝😋
Great price, some people just don’t appreciate the aesthetics. It may be ‘just a bin’ but if it’s out on display in the kitchen, not hidden away, then you want something that looks good.
For that price I would expect a simple human binman!
How simple would you have to be?
Back on topic, problem is that 58litres isn't that big for a dual purpose bin. We have 60l for normal waste alone, with recycling separate.
Thanks, I'll make sure to use the recycling compartment so the recycling department can pick up my recycling at a similar frequency to my non-recyclables
Yup. There's a reason you have two bins outside that get collected the same amount of times
I wonder the complexhuman 40 litre bin is like
I have this bin. After my Brabantia broke I rate this as great qualtiy and more reliable. Heat.
The black one is £24.99 on Amazon with prime
I’m not sure but there wasn’t the usual yellow sticker which usually means store specific. I personally don’t trust what Tesco tell me over the phone regarding stock. I called up once and they said they didn’t have any of what I was looking for in any of my local stores and they did.
I rang Tesco’s and they don’t have any stock in the northwest.
Is this nationwide?
I bought this but be warned, the food you buy will become more expensive and you may even start shopping more at Waitrose. False economy.
I also use costco bags, very good quality also they're on offer atm £6 for 90 bags.
Agree great bins bags very pricey but we just use costco ones.
aldi bags fit fine
Can't you just use regular bags?
Nice looking Curver metal effect bin - can I say that about s bin!??
I have two of these for normal waste and recycling, I use the Aldi drawstring swing bin liners, fit perfectly.
Rubbish deal (lol) 👌
That's what I was asking. Good.
Mine has just arrived but I think it may be faulty, is the lid supposed to fully close without using the lock, as mine stays slightly open. I've attached the lid correctly so wondering if it's the slow close damper at fault?
at least yours came with a lid! mine didn't and neither did the replacement, so currently have 3 bins in my kitchen (shock)
how on earth do you get the lid fastened on? I assume it clicks in place but don't want to force it too much. forget that... found this
Looks expensive to me for a plastic bin.
If it has wheels it a WHEELIE bin
I have this exact one, bags are brilliant!!! Just a little expensive that's all, but they do the job brilliantly.
Had one for a while (inherited from a house purchase) ... bags are a nightmare.
Keeps coming back at around this price. At £23.99 previously. Commented last time on using charity bags instead of proper bags and took some flak. Standard 40 litre bags are fine too.
I bought a grey one for £30 in 2012. It's used in the kitchen for mixed recycling. I use the tailor made bags which are quite expensive, but I reuse them several times as nothing too mucky goes in there. The bin still looks good after 6 years use. P.S. The lid hinges from the back, so you need quite a bit of height above the bin for the lid to open fully. I think it would work OK under a counter, you might have to pull it out a bit to get really big stuff in there.
This is going to bug me.... Do you have a round top/cylindrical simplehuman bin? Can't see how the Brabantia G liner will fit the top of my bin....
Does anyone know a good cheap source for 10L tie bin bags? (for brabantia bin, non-generic)
Free delivery on orders over £49. :( That’s too many bin liners.
Tried the Wilkos bin liners once, they split, so went straight back to Brabantia
Load of Rubbish
My semi is fine, ta. Every bit as strong as the day I first got it :)
How are you getting on with your Semi, Deeky - still going strong?
yeah like a tesco or Asda bag. Its like cars : a radio from a Mercedes does not fit a Jaguar. They are made that way (y)
Just buy ordinary bags - I think the bin will still work (y)
Ordered..£53 at Argos
it was from amazon =)
It’s not a charity that produces the bags. Read the next one that comes through the door and 9 times out of 10 it’s a company who say they’ll donate a portion of their profits to the charity that’s plastered all over the bag. On that basis I never put anything in these bags and just keep hem to use them, plus if anyone wants to spend money to push things through my door that I haven’t asked for then why shouldn’t I keep them
You could always just put that on the doorstop, I’m sure it costs charities to produce the bags. How thoughtless.
Love this brand, I’ve got the wider one that I got in Range about 6 months ago? Was on promo at £24, I love it (as much as one can love a bin?!)
Exactly my thought too! Give that man a clap for actually using his brain unlike most that come on here, that buy expensive bags and then moan!
This is a good deal if you're specifically after the simple human one of these rather than one of the cheap versions people are commenting on about finding cheaper. This site is about finding a specific item cheaper than anywhere else which is what this post is I believe unless someone can post a link to a cheaper deal. Great 1st post, heat. (highfive)
I got one of these over a year ago from lidl for around £12 and it is still going strong.
Argos sell these for around £26
I used to have something similar. I am sure that I bought it from poundstretcher for around £20. Just mentioning so that if anybody is looking for this item it may be worth having a little look round first. Could possibly be quite a saving.
