All The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discounts, Offers and Sale - July 2019
Just throwing this out there: special edition is a lot more stable if you're looking to do some heavy modding. Enb for SE is pretty good now too, and most of the good oldrim mods have been moved over. Sure, there's still no parallax and there's a few other things missing but the extra stability is well worth it imo. If you're just playing vanilla, are on a low end system or only plan on lightly modding it then by all means, go for this. It is cheaper after all (y)
Anyone know if this deal is still live?
It's jarring. It gave me headaches!
The camera turning in increments is to help prevent motion sickness. Usually most vr games have the option to change the option. Personally I prefer the incremental camera.
Skyrim VR runs sweetly on my PS4 slim and is very immersive. I would definitely recommend at this price. Heat.
I completely disagree with the above comment. I was never really a fan of pancake Skyrim but it's amazing in VR - even on a bog standard PS4. I think I've sunk over 70 hours into it so far. For £15 it's a steal!
got Skyrim for £10 last night used it to get money off Splatoon at CEX nice one OP
Got one cheers op
Probably, The rest ended up on my eBay page (ninja) Jeez. The amount of bitter lemons that turn up when they cant get a deal (lol)
I know your pain.
Sometimes have to scan them to get the hidden 'bargain' price.
Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved the game back when it launched but its been rereleased and repackaged so much and I've fallen for it every time (my own fault, I know!) so instead of looking back fondly I just think 'ugh, why this again'. Not going to lie I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I saw it for around £20 on Switch.
In that sense it's a valid comparison. It all depends on what factors you want to consider when valuing it. Oblivion is great - I wish that was released on the Switch!
Why all the cold votes? Anyone in here thinks that Bethesda employees go through HUKD and think "oh they voted cold, next time we gonna sell our game for £20". I didn't set the pricing, it's cheapest brand new copy of Skyrim for Switch. Next up is used cex for £42. Eshop is £49.99.
They had them near where i worked but i wasn't really interested as i completed it when it was on the x360, however i did manage to get a copy of pokken
I played it both ways, with the move sticks and the dual shock, actually got on better with the dual shock. It’s a brilliant VR experience though, whether you’ve played through it already or not. Lack of mods is a bit of a minor annoyance but the VR makes up for it. Good price for the physical copy.
Game is played best with 360 motion and blinders off, just get used to it that way the sickness goes with time
Ah, I was looking forward to this on VR one day. So do not turn your head to look then?
Yes I didn't like the flick movement to look. Even sitting down was nauseating.
Fair point made decent game. Lol
Yes that would have been fab indeed.
Wish you could mix and match. Already have Doom, but would have been tempted by Wolfenstein 2 + one of the others...
They're both cheap all the time, but heat added because they're both awesome!
You have to be like a tramp on hot chips to ever catch these offers 😏
They usually have 1 or 2 in stock, the max i have seen is 4
no stock available...
OK thanks, I will give that a try. I did try to use the Vortex software but I must have been doing something wrong so I'll have another go.
I started by reading an article on uploadvr then went over to the massive skyrimvr area on Reddit. I'm using the vortex software from nexusmods to manage everything. .
How did you mod it? I did try but couldn't find out how to do it successfully, not really good at this type of thing but read that it's much better with some decent mods.
I spent all yesterday evening installing and modding it lol. There's a paid mod on steam (£10) called natural locomotion that I came across. This allows you to move in lots of vr games by holding buttons and moving your arms. They're even looking at using old PS3 move controllers etc to track legs/ankles. Haven't set it up yet but by all accounts it's fantastic and fixes motion sickness
Skyrim is a brilliant game, loved it on the PC and again on the xbox 1 so bought the VR version when I got a deal on the Lenovo Explorer headset. Sadly I can't play it as it seems to give me terrible motion sickness.
Not too sure. Follow the link above but make sure you use a pc or laptop
Has the 3% discount ended?
U look at this then laugh at the switch price i mean wtf haha
Having a Facebook account worth 15p or whatever....... Nope!
Still a great game, and a bargain for the Legendary edition*. Heat. (* all official DLC but not the hi-res "Special" edition).
Possibly because GAME are a bunch of charlatans, perhaps?
Been same price at Game, £37.99, since 20th December but for some reason was given the cold shoulder (lol) https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-nintendo-switch-3799-delivered-game-3145140#comment-36595580 Game link https://www.game.co.uk/en/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-for-nintendo-switch-1791271
Thankfully Amazon accidentally sent me a second £15 gift card, so iI got this for £22.99, and you get all 3 DLCs so not too bad for a huge game
Think one's sold by Amazon, other is by 3rd party? Although not sure why they're separated
Lol 38 quid wtf you high son????
Oculus Rift - Playing Skyrim VR testing SkyUI VR Not too shabby, i'm getting an Oculus Rift as i just don't like using the vive. Thank god for mods.
I personally had more fun in Fallout 4 VR and Subnautica, but that's partly because I've already finished Skyrim twice. What I will say though is that melee combat feels bad in VR because you can swing weapons as fast as you can move your arm, so it feels like you're swinging a toy. The solution is to play a sneaky archer but then combat lacks variety. I also found aiming spells is hampered by the crosshair often being hard to see. The plus side is Skyrim runs great in VR due to being a generation older, whereas Fallout definitely has performance issues. As for nausea, you need to persist with VR and it should subside. Half an hour per day for a week and you should see a huge improvement. Trouble is most people just immediately give up on it instead.
Lol I’m the same with Fallout. Never done Elder Scrolls as I’m more into SF than fantasy but I’m tempted as F’76 has failed to grab me (and yeah I actually own it, received as an xmas present). I’ve been sitting on the fence about Fallout VR given the unhealthy number of hours I’ve already pumped into the standard game and I’m wondering if this will give me the hit I’m looking for. As for motion sickness, the reviews of FOVR I’ve seen so far suggest it’s not a major problem for those prone to VR sicky-time so this may be less of an issue than you think. If in doubt you could just buy on Steam and see how it feels before getting a refund (as long as you remember to avoid going over the two hour grace period).
I keep thinking I'm done with skyrim. But once in a while I install it just to mod the hell out of it and ultimately uninstall it. I've just bought an oculus rift so I'm on the hunt for good games. I hear that these Bethesda games give awful motion sickness and the menus are a mess for vr. Any opinion on that mate?
Best VRgame bar none
I once voted this game cold then I took an arrow to the knee.
And check out the really cool hours-long add ons like bruma, the forgotten city, and tonnes of others. Skyrim is my favourite game ever. Just bought it again on psvr !
Great game but get the special edition instead. Much more stable (64 bit) and it gets all the mod support these days.
Purchased. Have this on the xbox, but like the sound of mods.
Get this version and mod it. Go to Youtube and Nexus mods for info or just do it through steam. It can look far better than the Special Edition upgrade (which can also be modded though), especially the NPCs which didn’t really improve with SE. It can look as good as any modern game.
I expect this would be great in VR. Shame you can't use any mods (with VR version) though to fix the copious amount of bugs in this game. Same price on PSN too...I'm quite tempted as I've got a few weeks off but I already own 3 versions of Skyrim.
Need for Speed™ Payback £9.99 - any good?
They changed some of the deals mid sale (they called it round 2) the info/list you see is additional info that was added by another user. I am unable to edit or delete this.
Fallout 76 is £59.99 , says £29.99 here ?
I bought Danganropa and Zero Escape Thanks!
The Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 bundle is an absolute steal for £11.99. The physical version for the 1st one goes for £10 on its own.
Great game - But not a hot deal sorry op
I don't think I've managed to find it cheaper than this yet; heat from me! I know Switch cartridges cost more to manufacture, but it's surprising how this game is holding its value, given its age! Must be one of the more surprising games to own in a Switch collection though!
One of my favourite ever games, but I won't be biting on the switch untill it goes down to the 20-25 region.
I took an arrow on the knee almost eight years ago and now they are still selling this at almost full price.. while me knee cold,
Heat from me and a great conversion on switch. Thanks for posting (y)
It's a separate release. Same on pc the standard and vr versions are sold separately.
Does this game do PS VR? I think I heard it mentioned before.
What can you say, except great game.
Great, thanks. That's helpful. (y)
Yes it is. Its not part of the main games section in store but on a metal 3 sided tower that used to house cheap dvds. All stores being sent in a load of £3-£10 ps4 & xbox one games which are also being replenished so not just a 1 job delivery. I got more copies of this in yesterday.
Thanks for the reply
Hi @terry.obrien the item looks to be out of stock so i've expired the post.
How do you get this for £209 when follow the link it comes up @ £299 Thanks
Same price as argos, although sold out at my local stores
Lucky you (y) Hope it stays that way :)
