This brand is actually owned by the Chinese government and they have been making tv's for years for their own market but now sell worldwide.
I wouldn't buy one I always go Panasonic so depends on whether you want a tv to last a long time with good quality internals or some mass produced Chinese jobby.
At this price it's cheap enough to get a new one every couple years I suppose.

Good for those looking for a budget 4K tv.

EXCELLENT price on the only bulb out there you don't need a damned hub to use

I got one on ebay for about this price, and now wish I'd bought more!

works great with google home mini
lights on/off
dim lights (hey google, play barry white and dim the lights - works a treat )
make lights brighter

using IFTTT I set it to turn on in case my nest protect detected smoke or carbon monoxide

can't say enough good things about TPlink, their kasa app, the HS110 smartplugs, the LB110 smart bulbs. I just wish that their kasa cam was already available in the UK - US only for now, and according to a review don't buy it from amazon.com because even if you get it in the UK it won't work yet for some reason (region restriction?)

IMO LB100 that doesn't dim wasn't good enough, LB120 that 'tunes' the white colour wasn't a useful/necessary feature to me, and LB130 that changes colour also wasn't useful
IKEA Tradfri dimmer kit is cheaper at £15 (and works without a hub) but I found the battery life in the dimmer to be very poor.
They were £20 in Sainsburys just after Xmas and that was the cheapest I've seen. Got one then and it works well but with the bayonet adapter attached it is quite big.

With "Home Assistant", pretty sure I could even have motion detection on the CCTV trigger it. They don't need a Hue Hub deployment for a single bulb.

You could also consider a smart plug connected to a lamp if you've got a spare one knocking around (I've been looking for uses for the smart plugs I was using for Christmas lights.)

Just ordered this from J Lewis and they price matched the £439, but with a 5 year warranty. No hassle just submitted a claim form and they replied within a few hours. This TV was recommended to me by someone who works in the trade, have seen it in the showroom and it looked really good so hopefully it will not disappoint.
File a price match request with john Lewis and get a free 5 year warranty. John Lewis do take a while to respond though, maybe 24 hours. Take a screen shot or photo as evidence to support your claim if declined.
Got this just before Christmas for £379. It's pretty decent.

Ok not sure how many examples you want but thanks to this site I’ve had Bluetooth speakers for 100% off. Phone case for 100% off. Sonos set up for £600 and those are just the deals I’ve been lucky enough to come across on here. Point is misprices do occur and sometimes get honoured. I’m never one to feel those deals have to be honoured but nor do I feel I need to be ‘sectioned’ to think that they might get honoured.

Well it kind of sets the precedent doesn't it. Electronic items as a whole 99% of the time go down in value over a relatively short amount of time, so if a tv has been £799, I wouldn't buy it for £999 just because that was the cheapest it was available at that point, unless I absolutely had to have the TV at that time. I would just wait until it fell again, and probably dropped further as they always do.

May not be at this price right now but tons of deals for similar tvs all the time. So, not hot for me personally as 5 year peace of mind is really necessary for tvs in this age

Amazon service and returns are fantastic if anything happens during the first year. Anything after that, you're on your own and have to resort to a SOGA (Sale of Goods Act) Claim which, contrary to what some here will tell you, is a fair amount of pain to go through. I'd always pay an extra 10% ish for a TV from RS or JL for this very reason.

This is still not a bad price for this TV if a one year warranty is your thing. Heated.

Yet the LG wins in every single test out there - go figure eh?

No, it really doesn't at all.

It's like you didn't actually even read my post before replying to it, …It's like you didn't actually even read my post before replying to it, because I addressed this very thing. In fact, it was pretty much the only thing I addressed. Image processing has a huge impact on picture quality, regardless of whether the panel is the same or not. For instance, LG's own OLEDs are currently completely hamstrung in their HDR game mode on more recent firmware revisions due to LG's boneheaded choice to sacrifice huge amounts of brightness to preserve detail (which would be fine if it were optional and you could also choose the previous behaviour of balancing brightness and clipping, but you can't).Sony's A1 is considered the best entirely because their processing is better than anybody else's, especially in terms of motion handling. Of course, any OLED is still going to retain the base strengths of the technology such as perfect black levels, but beyond that they can and do look very different from each other.

Sister in law has this TV for her kids to play Xbox One games on. Never thought I'd say it but Fortnite and Battlefield look amazing!

No worries - 1,9990 Euros (about 1,830 ish quid) I pay through the nose for some stuff unfortunately, as I live in France.
