All Smart Watch Discounts, Offers and Sale - May 2019
Oddly, it seems to be cheaper using the trade in option on it's own rather than combining the trade in with the student discount. For my S8 plus, they're offering me £275 trade in value, but if I use the student discount its £150 for the phone and £89 off with the student discount, this works out to be a bit more expensive.
I got 10% student discount and £50 part exchange for an old android phone. It wasn't for this specific deal but a month ago for the S10e
Why is android always low value compared to apple products.. (resale value
Okay, i just pulled the price from that you would pay at Argos. Thanks for clarifying.
Thanks - was hoping it was the galaxy one!! Wishful thinking.. 🙈
Great response! I'll go ahead with my purchase. Thanks for all your help! You too, @ec9wrr ;)
I really liked it and i am heavily invested in the withings ecosystem scales, bpm, fitness tracker etc. Mine was an early model when it was first released and suffered from condensation on he inside of the glass. They were then pulled when Nokia took over for this and other reasons. In the mean time I got a Samsung s3 frontier gear. This deal had me really thinking about going back to it but I'm now used the charging daily and welcome the extra features of a smart watch over a hybrid. In my opinion though this watch (or a variation) is the best hybrid available and I cant recommend it enough if you want a smart watch but dont want to charge it every night.
I’ve had mine for three months. Only taken off 4 times to charge it. No scratches on face at all despite constant wear.
Fair. Think it's worth it for the peace of mind? I'm able to use the 15% student discount on it but I'm also thinking that if I'm willing to shell out £230 odd for a hybrid watch, I may as well go for something else. How long did you have yours for and do you still have it? If not, why? What did you move on to? Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions btw. (highfive)
None no. It's going to be susceptible though and for 150 quid more you can get a sapphire screen
This is an upgrade to the Kospet hope, which is in itself a great watch.
Let's hope this deal isn't a ... deceptiCON...
Looking at buying a Garmin (with GPS) just for running. I already have a Garmin cycle computer so track all my cycling and walking in the Garmin app - it seems to make sense to track running in the same place. I have no interest in any of the tech features, nor wearing it at all except for running. If just for running, should I buy a Forerunner XX or Vivosport?
Surely the drag + weight will cost a few seconds per mile (lol)
:D fair enough
Still love pink better haha
VA3 Music now available at Argos for £149. Sandstone version, but what you actually get is the black one in the box with a spare sandstone strap. link
I've ordered it already! I knew it was out of stock. I'm in no rush so it's fine if it doesn't arrive for a while. Thanks.
M Only problem you have there is Clever Training have no stock. I emailed them about the 245 yesterday. "I am contacting you in regards to the Garmin 245, I have been in contact with our head office about delivery dates for the product and they have responded saying we aren’t getting as many units as anticipated this week, they haven’t specified the number of units we are getting but they have stated there won't be many. There was no date specified for the next batch of Garmins. I sincerely apologise for the delay and inconvenience this has caused." Assuming you're in no rush for it then it's a good deal.
Thanks for that. Accuracy seems ok. Hesitating between this and the Forerunner 245 music (300 quid). The 245 seems to be better for GPS lock and accuracy and also has audible alerts (eg. "your pace is blah"). I'm not a super serious runner (20-30k or so a week), but I hate the my current watch takes ages to lock on to the satellites and then cuts corners when I look on strava). Having said that, the Vivoactive 3 does have garmin pay which might come in handy. Might wait for the VA3 Music to come down in price though. EDIT: Just discovered that you can get the 245 Music for 269.99 when you use code DCR10BTF on clevertraining.co.uk. I think I might just pull the trigger on that, even though it's way more than I initially wanted to spend.
Amazon appear to be price matching now. Though with the five quid eBay voucher applied Curry's is the better deal. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CR8NBQB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Oaa1CbF3CS6NN
Had one of these since Feb. No issues at all so far. To be fair, I won it but it works really well with my Samsung phone and it's been great all round. I gave my old Fitbit Flex 2 to my sister. They both worked fine for us but I haven't used other fitness trackers so can't compare.
Agreed, but they did (eventually) fix the issues with my Poco F1. Took them a while though
I'm sure lots of the other fitbits are fine but this one is awful.
Don't buy, fitbit support are absolutely useless and their forums are even worse. When the ionic was first announced, it was mentioned to have a sp02 sensor... 2 years later fitbit have yet to even make the thing work and have taken all reference to this off their website. Take a look at their forums and you will realise how disappointing their customer service actually is with so many annoyed customers.
My Fitbit Blaze has no problems syncing with my OP5T on Pie
You're welcome (y) You could get an Android watch like the one in the deal and use Find My Device to track, but the Vodafone one is specifically designed for that purpose and has more features designed for what you need.
You are an absolute legend. Thanks!
Battery seems to be fine on mine, too. I have to say though, it's much laggier than I expected. Also, Google Maps is totally broken on it and Shazam is very temperamental. Actually, a lot of the apps are pretty awful. I'm not sure I see the point. Looks nice though
Battery is fine on mine. Turn everything off minus the always on screen and bluetooth. Wifi automatically turns off when not in use so leave that on. Had it on since 7am, its now 8pm and i'm at 52 percent
I've still got series one brand new unopened , I just can't bring myself to keep charging a watch when you wear an automatic
I only recently upgraded my series 1 but it worked fine, I just wanted 4g. It was only worth £50 as a trade in mind you
Probably obsolete come September with os6 leaving this behind on os5.
With all the watch iOS updates, you’d have to jump start this watch to get any apps to work other than clock face and timers maybe. ;( not voted - good price though.
But is is better than the tic watch S2 which has a better waterproof rating?
Works on my partners, with Bluetooth on.
Battery doesn't last, not very good
Yeah didn't think of that only rely use Google assistant while driving myself so still not a deal breaker for me. I'll check it out thanks
Can't use ok google, set alarms, or make a phone call on it. Need to use headphones. Silly omission. But they know best. Buy a Kospet hope
Tenner cheaper at amazon Spain using a fee fee card. I'm nit saying this is a bad deal at all, but you did ask :D https://www.amazon.es/gp/aw/d/B07H4Y9PG7/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL&psc=1
Anyone know where to get this cheaper?
Will probably have some customs to add on, usually around the £15 mark. Which is a mix of tax and Royal mail fees.
£141.45 if you wanted the watch & phone. The page shows the bundles they are offering. £124.35 is for just the mobile phone on it's own.
OP .. your picture show's your Xiaomi Phone, with (what I'm assuming) an Xiaomi Smart Watch of sorts, yeh?. But yet your Deal link show's no indication of such, etc? (and neither does anything in your Deal make mention of any of that too, or whatever?). So my question is, which one is correct?.
Been trying to buy for 3 days but error comes up, for people saying it's 20 quid looking watch , don't buy it then, if you are a Casio fan you know the value
It's a 1980s watch.
You're paying for the look really, the features don't justify the cost. But then again, same goes for most watches.
I went through a similar thought process, but decided I simply wouldn't care about scratches on this one and kept it. To be honest, a bit or scratching may help tone the thing down a bit! (:I
Apart from radio controlled and bluetooth what else is it that warrants this price tag, ps I do own quite a few quality watches so I'm not an idiot, I also own 1 silicone g-shock that I paid around £90 , I really cant understand the price unless it's got a lot more features
Not done yet, don't forget you can by a cex voucher from time to time on eBay often at 10% off face value saving potentially another 20 quid.
And one more thing garmin pay in the UK is pretty much santander only
I should day I don't wear both devices out and about but when out for a run only, I wouldn't want to look like a dweeb.
5s has a smaller screen, resolution and battery life. Maps can be had using paid use of dwmap which as an app on garmin connect iq. Only ten pounds a year. Having owned pretty much every iteration of garmin for the past 5 years, this is a very good price for a very good watch. Personally the 5 is just a little too big on my wrist and the 5x too much. When getting the 5 plus it is worth knowing that using GPS and music really hammers the battery the 5s plus claims 4 hours only on garmins website even. I am planning on using a 735xt and a gear fit 2 Pro (literally just for the music) total cost on CeX for that is 210 is grade B but a you get music on one wrist and b your battery isn't hammered on the main unit. As for maps I have learned that a 1.2" screen for maps just isn't suitable for me. So I got an edge 820 for the bike at 110 off the bay and am a happy little customer with all three. Finally for what it's worth, I spend a lot at cex on hardware such as smart watches and sat navs and only 10% are unsatisfactory that are graded B, with free returns it is not too much hassle either. And as to the concern about dirty watches and used goods, it can be washed since it has 10atm waterproofing
Yuk, B grade and you wearing something that’s been on someone’s sweaty wrists for many years - not for me bud
Just checked and none in stock around me :(
Reading reviews this isn't a UK version and doesn't come with maps
Can’t see the 5s plus sapphire for £549. Only the 5 plus. The size differences may matter to people with smaller wrists
I’ve seen it at this price in store so if you want one and have a store near by you could try brick and mortar
£549 on Amazon
Does anyone know how reliable and quick gearbest are?
I'll bore off now
After the first comment I thought you might prefer the Honor Band 3.... after the second comment I knew you preferred the Honor Band 3.... After the third comment I was a bit bored in honesty. This is a deal, some people might choose the product you prefer but others might not.
Honor band 3 wins in looks imo.
Same here, I have the Mi Band 2, stopped using it well over a year ago when I got an Apple Watch. A few days ago my 7 year old son said he wanted a step tracker watch, found it at the bottom of the drawer and up and running after a quick charge, he is made up. The Mi Fit app on the phone has been updated significantly since I last used it and looks great, the Apple Watch is an expensive toy in comparrison for the few bits it does extra (and needs charging every day!)
