Agreed, now I’ve got induction i wouldn’t ever go back to gas, looks loads better and so easy to clean.

Price is showing £1999, am I missing something?

Just not true. We went to induction from gas and haven't had to replace a single thing from our random selection of pans.

Does this come with a chef as well (shock)

I am happy with my Gorenje as well.

Yes. Tumble dryers evaporate the water in the clothes then either condense it or vent it to the outside. Condensing can be done in a number of ways. A heat pump is the most efficient as it takes the heat energy from the hot most air and uses it to heat the clothes. Less energy is wasted into the room. One other consideration is condensation efficiency. This dryer has 89% which isn't bad, but it means out of all the water in the clothes, 11% finds its way into the air. Some dryers have condensation efficiencies of 94%, which puts 6%, about half the water back into the room. If you have a well ventilated room, this will not matter.

Neff oven hasn't skipped a beat in 12 years. Just saying.

We had a smeg kitchen in a holiday apartment in Italy once. Everything looked nice and fancy but on closer inspection and usage, the quality was pretty shocking.

In agreement, they are essentially polishing a turd. The components are low quality but they are stylish. if you purchase expect stuff to break quicker than normal.

Lots of focus on design, low quality components. Our cooker has gone through 3 oven elements and 2 lights in 5 years and the heat sensors for the gas rings are a joke, constant failures. Smeg is great if you want shiny, less good if you actually cook.

Really? I’m looking at the moment - could you elaborate?

Hopefully it will last 13 years like the one I have now. I'll let you know 😋 The only problem I had was the plastic inner door handle that broke. It looked like it had an air bubble in the moulding when they replaced it in the first month. No other problems in the following years. The baskets look slightly different in this newer version. I may use my old ones as they are adjustable from plate holders to flat in the bottom rack. Dragged down by this one I suppose. Obviously changed his mind, unused but faulty?

Reviews are not that good for a smeg.

I have a heatpump dryer (hotpoint) and was worried about drying times but a full load is dry in less than 2 hours. I had heard horror story's of 4+ hours but this hasn't been my experience at all.

We have an indesit heat pump dryer 3 year old with out a reverse function sheets are impossible to dry. Other than that it works great about 2 hour 30 to dry full load so we just put it on and forget but we are only 2 adults.

I got this for us at £300 in April 2018. We soon learned that relying on sensor drying would leave the clothes slightly damp. Just bang the clothes in for timed drying 2 hours does the job! No reverse tumble has never caused us problems either. It's bloomin loud though when in the same room.

I've bitten the bullet and bought the Gorenje

£374 is probably standard price given its "quality" so £500 is somewhat misleading... Already voted hot initially but reading reviews I won't be buying

What is "SDAM STOCK" ??

They are expensive indeed but...they offer the best fridge volume for external footprint ratio. Compare their dimensions with how much volume they can offer. Also their freezer is well optimized to hold lots of stuff. Other companies may have the volume on paper but in reality are not offering. I hate their price too...but since we now have one my wife is set to them. PS on ours you can't put magnets on the front! They don't stick. Maybe is plastic or just aluminum.

flicklepickle off a reputation. My missus “instagram” dream to have one (lol) so got it last year, had nowt but problems, an engineer out within a month, went again and they replaced under warranty now I swear this ones on the blink too (annoyed) (fierce)

Smeg are best avoided, we’ve had one for five years - poor performance, expensive parts and bits just keep breaking. Style over substance.

They have tested 5. 4 of which were tested prior to 2019. The only recent one CBTD7VW did not do too well, the others were worse. Pros Quick dryingGood dryingEven dryingQuiet ConsVery limited functionalityBad for clothes creasing OverviewYou’ll get good, quick drying from this Candy, but it’s terrible for creasing your clothes and its simplified control panel is far too restrictive. What is it?An integrated vented tumble dryer from Candy. It comes with hinges attached to the front of its right side for attaching the door of a kitchen counter. It has a 7kg capacity for both cottons and synthetics loads. There is no separate synthetics cycle. In fact, it only has one single drying setting. The dial control is used solely for setting the time. What looks like a list of programs on the front of the dryer in fact just lists time and load size suggestions for different types of clothes. As this is a vented dryer, an exhaust tube that comes in the box will need to be fitted to vent out the hot and humid air. The exhaust position on this dryer is at the back, so make sure you have adequate space to fit both the dryer and the exhaust tube behind it. Check out the Tech Specs tab of this review to find out the dimensions of the dryer. What's it great at?If you're short on time or patience, this could be the dryer for you. With the freedom to dictate how long the dryer runs for, you'll be impressed with how quickly it will get the job done. Cottons loads will dry at around 18 and a half minutes per kilo, which isn't too far away from the record shortest time we've measured (14 minutes per kilo). We found that clothes come out of this Candy well dried and evenly so, meaning there's a slim chance you'll find odd wet items mixed in with the dry at the end of the program. We were impressed by how quietly this machine runs. Some tumble dryers are loud and make annoying sounds when they run, but you'll have no such problems with this dryer. Is there anything I should watch out for? This dryer is really bad for creasing your clothes. Clothes will come out very wrinkled, so you'll need to make sure you're prepared to give them a good iron after they've had a run in this Candy. We don't think the control panel on this dryer is user-friendly. Although simple, it's almost too much so - having certain programs for different fabrics is important for keeping your clothes in good condition while drying, but this machine provides no such options whatsoever. It's also severely lacking in terms of other features. Sensor drying, a delay-start function, a child lock and a light reminding you to clean the lint filter are all very common tumble dryer features you can find in other models of a similar price, but none of them feature here.Is there anything else I should know?Vented dryers are the priciest type of tumble dryer to run, and this one will set you back roughly £84 a year, which is slightly above the £79 a year average of the vented dryers we've tested. The cheapest type of tumble dryer is heat pump dryers. The average yearly running cost for heat pump dryers is much less at around £38, although you should expect to pay at least £300 to £400 more to buy one.Should I buy it?Perhaps. If you prefer your tumble dryers to be as simplified as they possibly can be, you'll get well-dried clothes out of it. Be prepared to give any clothes you dry with this machine a good iron, though.

Hi, Just wondered whether Which had tested any of the Candy ones? looking at the Grand O'Vita in comparison to the Beko and its a minefield. Any help gratefully received

Good price and good reviews. If you have a Costco membership this is a great deal. £199.99 £189.99 with the £10 off code. While stock lasts.

Eh? When I bought my Kitchenaid they were the machine everyone was after and they were also featured constantly by top chefs on all the BBC programmes etc. No-one said a bad word about them. I did tons of research before buying my KA. The problem with KA is they built their reputation on their old machines which were really good and have nothing to do with the machines they sell these days - they're owned by Whirlpool now. If you're gonna make cakes and the odd loaf of bread, all of these mixers will be fine for you - the KA probably actually has the advantage is looks better. If you plan on baking bread every other day, you're gonna need a seriously good solid high-end machine. My KA has overheated a few times and had tons of black smoke pouring out of it when making bread when I used to do single batches of dough - you will be ok with these machines if you stay well below the max flour limits and split them into small batches. Make sure you use the correct water ratios. The latches on the KA that keep the motohead down are not fit for purpose and badly designed. The motorhead will bounce up and down when dealing with dough and adjusting the screws will not fix the problem and will release itself. I had loads of KA mixers and they all had the same problem. I then sent mine back to KA a few times, and they basically did nothing and refused to replace it and sent it back saying they fixed it, but it wa doing the same thing. I put lots of thick hair bands around the front and around the latch to prevent this from happening - it looks ridiculous but is the only thing that works. Funnily enough - I was watching one of the top chefs on a BBC cookery program a couple of years ago using his KA, and I noticed he did exactly the same lol!!

Looks like you should've done your homework first then,

I have a kitchenaid. Looks great on the counter and that's about where it's positives end. If you look at owner reviews and have they actually function during use (especially things which push them like making dough/bread), Kenwoods are the best. Do they look the best? No. When I think of a Kenwood, do I think of something high-end? No. If I was buying a mixer now and didn't have one, would I buy a Kenwood? Yes.

Ok I've been looking at this washer for a few weeks now and still unsure whether to buy. AO will match this price also. Totally agree. I have both beko wm and dishwasher and they've never skipped a beat (nearly 9 y/o now). My expensive Samsung fridge cooked the goose after 6 years and oven have been nothing but problems. Now moving into new place, I'll look into beko once again for kitchen appliances.

I've had nothing but trouble with my Miele WWV980, and yet my previous £230 Beko washing machine lasted for years. Suckered by marketing. I will always choose the most basic models from manufacturers in future. High end means more features to go wrong. The pumps and heating elements are identical, you only have to look at part numbers to see that.

I used to work for a house builder and we had a few problems with smeg I had a fridge microwave oven and hob I& dishwasher in my house the Hob has been the only thing that lasted, firidge has been repaired, microwave broken and dishwasher on last legs, I asked at work and it turns out smeg have two kind of outlets of sale volume items l,e this and like I have and top end items both come from different factories so to sum up it’s a good price but on my own experience I’d avoid in future

Doesn't clean as well and the 'interior design' is bad. Too many small plastic clips that break and a crazy wheel design on the top tray that catches on any sensibly sized plate. And of course it can't be adjusted if you wash more sensibly sized plates than especially tall glasses which the top shelf copes with admirably.... Also a strip of muck will always collect along the bottom edge of the door which did not happen with the bosch.....

yes. Anything but SMEG at any price point. One example but there's a ton at this price point that will be more reliable with cheaper spares than SMEG head.

Im with you on this one. Im also unconvinced either way and sit in the middle. I dont think anyone knows for 100% certainty. Scientistis do sometimes get things wrong. What we do know though is, 2.4 million years ago we had the ice age, which had very cold periods and very hot periods which melted glaciers (whats happening now). So is todays apparent issue just an ongoing natural occurrence? Or created by us? Either way, I bet theres zero that can be done about it and I also bet nobody ever wins this argument. (popcorn)
