Thanks everyone for the reviews. Xx

I have a twelve of these spread out along the fence, either side of the garden. Had them about a year and they have worked well and sensitive to come on even when a cat is passing through and produce a good light output for such a small unit. The only thing I didn't like was the colour of the light they output, but that is personal taste. I ended up getting some yellow transluscent film and opened up the units and positioned inside the opaque cover. Perfect for me now.

These look good too. Thanks

I purchased 2 for 19.99 last week (amazon), they have 2 year warranty and each light has 60 led , lovely and bright even in this dull weather

I got some 2 years ago. Stuck them up still going strong. Dim slight at sunset which turns bright when you walk past. 2-3 cloudy days will cause it not to work. It’s worked 95% of all nights

Replaceable bulb! These things use LEDs which usually arn't replaceable in such items

5.8% Quidco too, for that price it would be rude not too (y)

I had similar one. Failed after 3 months. Buy one with a replaceable bulb.

These are very bright and remain so even during the winter with little sun

Got one from Lidl equivalent of this light- 5 years on, no problems

Are they not the ground spikes just inserted the wrong way round, I've had some before that were packed that way. Just pull them out and put them back the other way round..... or just bin them ;)

Did anyone who picked these up find that there are no plastic spikes on the bottom?(?). I just opened mine and they've put random pieces from flat packed furniture on the bottom lol - no spikes. Also the build quality is worse than I was expecting, even given the comments - there is nothing to stop water going in...

Luxform are a good brand but you're best putting them in a garden shed or similar over Winter .

(highfive) (y)

With these cheap lights there can be a gap between the solar panel and the case. Just open them up and go around the the gap with a glue gun to make it water tight and stop the rain getting in, should stop them getting corroded. Also give them a full charge if possible by taking the battery out and popping it into a charger till full or if the light has an off switch on them leave them off for a week or more in the winter before switching them on.

i also ordered a 4 pack, but then got a "chinglish" email from the supplier saying there were what I interpreted as stock difficulties, so I asked for (and got) a full refund from them.

Mines dispatched but not yet delivered! Been waiting forever!

My pack of 4 came today but only got 1 not 4, did anybody actually get 4?

Back in stock.

Expired again

Thanks Op bought 2 lots. Just a tip if you do its cheaper if you do 2 different transactions as its cheaper.

That's just adding to the growing problem.

But you said 8.50 and 30 LED XD Not quite the same but OK I guess.....

Thanks OP re ordered these items are a gem. Amazing build quality and cheaper than last time.

Don't solar lights run out faster if the bulbs are more powerful?

Mine arrived, seems alright... However 300 cycle battery life assuming 7 hours of sunlight. So maybe a year?

Similar for £5.55 from China. I have four now & they seems pretty good. Have to see if they're still going in a year . . .

Trying to be

Is that what you call funny people, must be a right laugh around your house (party)

There is always one n*b head trying to be funny

So don’t use them when it’s dark and you need them. (lol)

Not very good at all, garden is littered with the remnants of the fallen! Start using them in the spring and you *may* get a season out of them if the weather is not too bad, any water will soon get into the inside and rust any crucial parts so just bin them at the onset of winter.... or just don't buy any in the first place.

Even though it gave option to order via German warehouse my tracking shows its coming from China :/

Bought 3 similar (not same) ones from Wickes 2y ago. Works great. My neighbor has then for last 4y and works great still. Wickes ones are pretty bright and work great even in winter. Working flawlessly

And no IP rating, if it survives the winter you will have done very well.

Code not valid anymore? :(

Get a new rechargeable battery from Toolstation and replace it your self. It will be up and running again with full capacity. I just done with one of my 3 years old one. Battery specifications can be found on your old battery inside black box.

Found some appeared online today at this price. Ordered it. Only white crackle head ones left.

Oh nooo.. I'm gutted and I was keeping an eye out too as not instore anymore. I only wanted 1😔 Sincere thanks to OP for letting us know x

All reduced solar lights oos now, removed from basket upon checkout (skeptical)

Managed to get the larger colour change versions pack of 4 for £2 - thanks OP

Also multi coloured available at same price

Just for future reference on homebase deals: My store showed 36 in stock when i ordered 10, the website does not subtract those orders until paid so will still show stock when they have none. I got my ten because they did it on a first ordered basis, i recieved my ten despite others being turned away because i ordered sooner than them.

These are now showing at £1.35 with decent stock level in London. I've got these, definitely worth the money.

Not good! I may instead invest in mpow solar lights when I across a deal.

Got a call from Homebase, shawbridge, glasgow and was advised they have none in stock even though i was on way to collect them! Amazing service...not!!

I reserved 28 yesterday for my garden. They called today to say they are out of stock but the person on thephone had already been told by the manager that i can have the round lightware fence lights for the same price (was £3 then £1.50). Maybe it's worth asking for This? These ones

Last year i bought the poundland ones that look very much the same, they were outside all through the winter, and are still going. I've drilled a hole in the bottom of the globe so if any water gets in it can escape. They last until dawn in the summer when they had a good few hours of direct sunlight to charge.

Was 0.50 pence in asda few weeks ago and i did not bought some did not work straight away. Poumdland is full of this

These can let in water but I've found that putting some clear cello tape or cling film over the solar panel helps keep out the water and mine have been going strong for months.

Meet somewhere in the middle and they're probably decent for £1.

Christmas?..You mean Summer..Solar lights=Summer

Festive? That'll be another cold vote :p

You might be surprised at how well these do work. I've had a set of these, with the white bulbs, for a few years.

Solar lights... Not Christmas lights... Good luck powering those in the winter when we get 20 seconds of sunlight (cheeky)

It’s NEVER to early for the C word - bring on the festivities 🎄🎄🎄

Think fire flys in a jar.

I had the same issue with the single solar light bulbs from pound shop same design , i just heated up a needle at the bottom to make a small hole which you cant see to let the water out , really badly designed .

These are rubbish. One small led at the top of each bulb. Taking mine back. The B&M Bargain ones are good with several LED's per bulb. Very bright and long lasting.

i bought similar to these from Asda and both sets stopped working, the bulbs actually filled with water believe it or not.

Why do they have batteries too if solar, as a back up for the light?;

Reserved some thank you!

Thanks op ordered 4 sets

I paid £4 for these a couple of weeks ago. They were worth the money then so I'll be ordering some more. Thanks OP! 😻

Thanks Op, the wife loves these sort of things so reserved 2 sets. Heat from me.

Agreed, people who buy them will be lucky if they're still charging and working in 6 months

These are the same run of the mill cheap plastic rubbish lights that dont actually light anything up. Mostly just decorative.

I don't have these exact ones for by some steps by the path and they are pretty rubbish light wise. Really only decorative - are these any better? Do they cast enough light to be useful?

Cheap. Normally rust and die. Batteries are patheticly poor quality.
