All Spanner Discounts, Offers and Sale - September 2018
Fair enough - your world is obviously different to a lot of others. Ta for your vote though :)
I would need to drive accross town to collect, lose time+waste fuel. Better do 1 hour overtime at work and order 2 sets from eBay + free delivery. Some people really do not know how this world works. Yeah, deal is only good for those living near the shop/branch.
If you read the description its C&C ( click & collect ) if you cba collecting then yea delivery charge applies over and above a tenner. Probably best if you dont bother at all - save a spanner ( the aggro ) (y)
£5 delivery. Cold.
Called knuckle busters in the trade.
Add this voucher and its £108......Done it today and no proof of AA required....
Not snapped mine yet and had a m long scaffold bar on the end. I snapped the wheel nut though (strong) :(
I bought a set of non impact 3/8 deep laser sockets around 25 years ago. Never managed to break one despite spinning them up on a snap on air ratchet. Lost a few over the years and replaced them with snap on as and when. TBH if I was starting out again I wouldn't bother with snap on I'd go for draper expert, bahco or maybe halfords Pro range.
Take it back
I wish they did just a metric set with 200 pieces, I'd never use AF sockets these days . Unless you're into old cars they aren't much use, just makes the set take up more room.
Nice to see spanners come with a case. Fed up with tools coming in cardboard and tacky plastic cases.
They come in black, a pre-used antique look.
Was £20 amazon anyway Stanley Fatmax 10 Spanner Set
LOL! What could possibly go wrong! :D
And much would they be without the 'Fatmax' case?
The socket set is the first picture I could find. Basically all the sale prices work with trade car discount. This particular set might not be as cheap as it’s been before others are not bad.
Not up to speed with how to post deals yet properly. Only my second post. I’ll make some changes now.
try search 'trade card'
Lol :) I'm working on it. Any links to them claims?
I paid £135 for this set a year or so ago.
This isn't a very good deal. The 150 piece set tends to be the more cost effective one to go for with prices getting as low as sub £70.
Is it. I don't normally frequent Halfords. Thanks for the heads up.
Lol usually £120 black Friday
Usually £160 or less. cold
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.
Any chance you can check the trade price on the Halfords torque wrenches please :D
Yeah OK. XD
Both the 12 and 6 point sockets in the Halfords range are more like spline sockets that that traditional flat faced one - the face section is curved ensuring that all of the torque in not placed on the "point" but well back on the face. Even the point is curved. I have a couple of sets of spline sockets - they are excellent at removing any damages fixing as they will grab on to any surface.
I had to look, aluminium case only(one hopes... ;-p )...nice box, but tools look...hmmm terrahawks used emoticons... :-) Don't get whom these tools aimed at, (nice)professional looking case, but don't appear professional quality tools... Just why?????
(poo) Price (poo) Tools
I really hope these are not aluminium....
Not bad, I am overstocked on 1/2 but not on impact stuff
I bought http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/tool-kits/halfords-advanced-modular-tray-set-18pc-impact-socket-set last week for £32 with my trade card, these 6 point sockets are superb for the money if you already have a 1/2" ratchet.
I agree mate
I I would maybe live with the imperial sockets, sell them off etc, but then the rest is 12 point this set is ok when either whatever you work on is up to 3 years old or you work on 12point bolts all the time which I doubt...
need we need more, and then more again
waste of time Hello, Thank you for your recent order from our Halfords eBay store. It is with regret that we must advise we are unable to process your order due to an administrative error with our stock. We have received a high volume of orders on this particular item. Sadly, we are unable to fulfill your order on this occasion. As such we will be required to cancel your eBay order. This item has now been removed from sale. On behalf of Halfords, I wish to apologise for any disappointment this has caused. A refund will be processed shortly by our payments team and returned to your PayPal account.
Their ebay store takes your money and order and then emails you a cancelation. Avoid like the plague. Halfords needs to rebuild its reputation.
Yeah fair enough. Would have been good if my nearest store wasn't a special out of the way 60 mile round trip to go there. Location dependent of course / postcode lottery.
Free click and collect
£12 in-store at Halfords with their Trade Card.
I’m not talking people out then. I recommend them they are brilliant and good value. I figured if any of mine break I’d just take it in. If they refuse take up with management most places would just give a new ratchet for what it’s worth
If you ever need to change the battery on a Fiat 500 or Ford KA MK2 this will be invaluable. There is practically no access and using a non-ratcheting combination spanner is a lesson in tedium (lol)
To break the ratchet then you are working on an item thats not been oiled or is rusted badly. Tools only snap through miss use or bad thought and planning. ;)
Just got in there before midnight. Thanks OP
My local Halfords are fantastic. They replaced my faulty ratchet spanner on the spot. I religiously only buy Halfords tools for this reason. However they need to expand their range ask pretty much have everything now
Ive seen a few sets without a 15... i guess its just not a standard size (except in the world of bikes)
I have a feeling they will be cheese grade metal, passing on this
It's only £1 off - how good can they be?
Have some heat, Nice find, Plenty of stock at all my local stores.
It's becoming quite typical of ScrewFix deals to not have stock :-( Good deal if you can find it though.
as usual no stock where i live and 20 miles away
There was stock available as I ordered 2 sets, looks as though there wasn't many left. (annoyed)
You can add to basket but doesn’t seem to be available at any stores when checking out.
This set does not include a 11mm spanner which is strange..
Cool (y) 🏻
And a NutJob!
That's the little fella.
Lol, no, prefer Toolstation generally. Like forge steel kit but only when heavily discounted! Screwfix buyers are better than the Argos ones for sure, and no I am not related to one!
Well OTOH, I've had drop forged sets of sockets which I've completely rounded off certain sockets and so thrown them away or the square bit has simply broken off rendering the whole set useless. I did this a few times before I hit on chrome vanadium sets. Maybe you've been gentler with yours? My nuts and bolts always seem to be well rusted on and determined to resist to the end!
Amen to that
Bag of spanners aka Margaret Beckett!
Yes, we've found one all right, You!!!
Rolson stuff is very poor quality and an adjustable spanner doesnt need that handicap..
has 14mm but no 15mm? Cold for me as it lacks a more common size and includes a less common one
Had a browse yesterday and ordered Hope they are shiny!
I did go through ebay altough this was a „good-ish” store purchase so why not Quality wise should be more-less the same, can always return ebay stuff if complete junk
i was tempted last time these came up, but instead decided to go ahead and buy all the sizes for (quite a bit more) because the chances are youre going to need the sizes missing more often than you think and will always resent saving the few quid years from now, and will end up buying them anyway if you need them. FYI these are similar to the ones i purchased (for £23), and so far have been lovely. it's one of those tools you never miss until you've tried and then cant live without. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12pc-6-19mm-Metric-Combination-Flexible-Ratchet-Spanner-Wrench-Car-Garage-Tool/152586769579?hash=item2386e154ab:g:ikMAAOSwRXRZQnT3 there are slightly cheaper ones (less sizes!) than what i brought but i felt flush after my birthday :)
Good price but the sizing is a bit odd
Fap-off over spanners? :o
Might have to treat myself to a set if there are any left.
Not a bad price but no 12mm or 14mm which are very popular on motor bikes. The Japanese tend to use a lot of M10 bolts with a 14mm head and not the normal 17mm head.
Was going to do the same but no luck at my 2 local stores :(
Totally in agreement here! Ideal for where space is limited. I use a Bahco 1/2 socket set and I feel these will compliment my growing tool chest. (y)
Half of this is imperial!
200 piece is £125 with trade card. Decent quality tools coupled with a lifetime warranty
Good Friday soon, unless desperate could get a cheaper price. My 200 piece only cost me £127.
I think I paid £150 for my set at ‘half price’ which is always on!
Good tools, nowhere close to half price and not even the best buy from Halfords.
Hmmm......yes that does look like a good deal. Will have to pick a set up and compare (you can never have enough spanners). However those spanners are not available for delivery via Screwfix, so if your local Screwfix has no stock or you can't get to Screwfix the Aldi option remains a good deal with FREE DELIVERY available via orders on the Aldi website! (y)
I agree that I didn't check stock where you live, but I picked up a set on Sunday :)
Or try looking for stock for that item only to realise that your looking at dead stock on a website and not researching. Thanks op will try and pick these up :)
Or you could buy a set in Screwfix for £3.99 https://www.screwfix.com/p/combination-spanner-set-12pcs/46693
