Got a pair and they are fantastic

I placed an order online and received a call to say that they did not have any in stock. However the strangest thing happened as today they called me to say that if I wanted, I could come and choose any pair for £20 - I could not believe it. I just picked up a pair which was amazing. Thank you so so much for sharing this deal with me.

Very disappointed. Online said 2 in stock. Went to shop ask member of staff, she checked on till, yes two in stock but cant find it! Wtf 40 min waisted. Cold (mad) (poo)

Try not to be too downhearted - on the brightside you’ve saved £20 (highfive)

Ordered last pair at Bradford branch, telephone call an hour later to tell me they're not in stock 😪

Stanley 100 Piece Drill Set - £18.99 free C&C Argos
Found 11th SepFound 11th Sep
Obviously it's home use, not pro standard but for me to do some drilling, it's more than enough. Hope this helps.

I brought a cheap Bosch set then just replace the ones that are no good you don’t need half of those

I paid the same amount 2 years ago... where is a deal?

you seem to be posting a lot of drills. do you listen to drill music?

Mallet's Mallet!

Sounds like you've got an impact driver there, not a drill. Workzone is from Aldi not Lidl. Can't tell you what you need until you decide what job it's for. Why did you spend money on that tool you didn't understand instead of paying someone who knows what they're doing? (annoyed) Got any deals to post? Nine years so far and nothing.

STANLEY HEAVY-DUTY STAPLE GUN £14.99 @ Screwfix (free C&C)
Found 2nd SepFound 2nd Sep
Aluminium cast housing. Push lock-down handle for storage. Easy access staple insertion. Ergonomic soft handle and head. Aluminium Housing Ergonomic Easy Push Handle

Should be expired then if back to full price

I bought the stapler sold by lidl - absolutely useless - clogs up every 5 or so staples.

Plywood is harder than pine right? Which way do you turn the setting for that?

Never tried MDF all I can say is it has a knob on the top so you can adjust the staple/nail depth in different types of wood so yes maybe. I use mine in plywood and pine mainly.

Can you staple MDF with these?

Excellent. I'd use mine as a shed. :D

Entirely fair point... :|

I think it should be TOOL10, not TOOLS10

26' = 26 feet. Pedantic to point out I know, but I really really want this 26ft toolbox to exist due to someone cocking up in Halfords purchasing department... :)

STANLEY FATMAX GROOVE JOINT PLIERS £5 (Click and Collect available)
Found 28th AugFound 28th Aug
Having a wee look on the B&Q website and found these fatmax groove pliers for a fiver, these are good quality and everyone should have a pair in their toolbox.

They do look like rubbish. I wouldn't buy them. Thanks, Harley_Mick.

Buy rubbish tools if you like.. your choice

I reiterate...nothing wrong with them!

Harley_Mick already posted 2 weeks ago

It's cheap rubbish, riveted together, go look at any decent branded pair, no cheap flimsy plate riveted on to hold the mechanism.

Im sure Stanley and DeWalt are the same company now.

O.K for very occasional use.

No, not for that price, better off waiting for Bosch titanium offers where half the bits are decent. These are cheap-factory stanley brand franchise re-badged - a mouthfull of ***** essentially. Most of the pieces break quickly and I made a return as I went through most of the concrete and steel bits within a few hours. Got a single job done and returned for a refund given the really poor quality.

I also have one of these, it’s lasted me 12 months before the handle has become an issue. It’s perfect for me to keep in my pouch all the time as it’s safe, there’s no worries of getting it stuck into your leg while jumping up and down on site. If you want a chisel for hanging doors this isn’t the one, but it you want a multi purpose chisel for every day site use, this is perfect. Everyone that has seen and used mine on site loves it. Each to their own I guess!

£5 again now

When I Msged it was 13.99 it is now 5 with a lead time of 3 weeks

i use the smaller ones for keeping bits, bolts &screws in

Wouldn't buy Stanley again unless it's their FatMax variants (built for trade)

The small one is also really small, and you can’t put much in the tray because the handle recess and outside sections take up the room.

Plumber here. These are not even worth £5. I bought a pair in December for around £12 but found out very quickly that they are not good at all.

Has anyone managed to find stock

Ah yes, looks like you're right. I think I'll buy a set then. Seems to work out much better value getting a set rather than a single pair from a good brand. Set of 3 Rothenberger for £46 seems decent?

Not sure the £9 from screwfix are the same though...the ones pictured as superior are £18.99. Suspect the cheaper ones are single sided hence much more likely to twist. These seem like pretty good value, more robust than the basic design whilst not the rolls Royce of pipe grips.

Still got my old battered one without bit storage. New one is (poo) with cheaper plastics. Clearly Stanley has cheapened out & going in the wrong direction as a business. As they say, buy cheap, buy twice with tools.

Yeah I wouldn't bother. I took mine back. Wished I had bought 2 back in the day.

I have one & it’s not great. The lid for the storage compartment keeps coming undone when I’m using it

I've got the original one as well (The bottom doesn't come off to store the bits though, they're all round the collar) my one still works great after years of use. Was thinking about buying this as a spare for a fiver, but sounds like I would be disappointed!

I have an original one bought about 9 years ago which is great. They changed the manufacture of them a few years ago. The latest ones are very poor quality. Ratchet mechanism fails. I bought one and compared side by side. Every element is cheaper.

Its a quality item and a bargain for any tradesmen out there.

The trade card £5 boxes are still on sale. Its a big box this, picked 2 up yesterday. Cannot go wrong at this price. Even £6 is an absolute steal.

Thanks OP. Ordered in a few at my local Halfords. They were the ones that stack and clip together.

The Halfords item for £6 does appear to be the old design of the Stanley storage case. As well as Amazon selling the new design item for £6 inc delivery (albeit with a £20 min. spend), one Ebay seller is showing the new Stanley design case (assuming that it is not a fake item) for £7.20 delivered. So the current Halfords deal is really not something to get worked up about, especially as it was on sale at Halfords for £5 fairly recently. So neither 'hot' or 'cold' from me.

Thank you

Thanks Anth. All thanks to our wonderful NHS. (highfive) I know it's not perfect but I'm not sure I want to try the alternative !! Excuse me for taking this space to thank all the wonderful doctors & nurses at Luton & Dunstable. Couldn't have asked for more!

Thanks for your post, alecb. You'll be a revitalised person with your 'new eyes'. As my neighbour said when he had his cataracts done, "I can see again!". Best wishes, and do look after your new eyes.

Thanks OP. Just what I need now that I've had my cataracts done and no longer need specs. I never used to bother with eye protection when I had to wear specs but think I might need something in the future. Heated!

Nice find, GDB2222. I hadn't spotted those! To use the vernacular, I'd give you some heat if it was possible LOL. Have to settle for a 'HotUKDeals' thumbs-up instead. Cheers . . .

These are good. Although the stitching on the inside pockets and the plastic handle don't last too long. And the inside pockets aren't that deep.

I agree about £17 at Costco Southampton yestersa

I have one of these and they're pretty good quality, I do prefer this though for it's light-weight, easier to carry and stackability.

If people stopped posting Screwfix deals, nobody would have an issue shutting their toolbox.

Got one of these when on offer at amazon. Love it. So much easier than a rigid box. Loads of pockets to sort tools and so much more flex when trying to get the thing shut. Would heartily recommend.
