So you can differentiate (that means tell the difference between in case you don't understand) between wood at 25% moisture and 20%? No you can't. Discussion (or delusion in your case) over!

Lol I read it as you have plenty :D

No, I said that I am fine for fireguards. That means I don't need any. It doesn't mean I have any. Man, you are so dense! (lol)

Thanks Anth. All thanks to our wonderful NHS. (highfive) I know it's not perfect but I'm not sure I want to try the alternative !! Excuse me for taking this space to thank all the wonderful doctors & nurses at Luton & Dunstable. Couldn't have asked for more!

AnthHether001

Thanks for your post, alecb. You'll be a revitalised person with your 'new eyes'. As my neighbour said when he had his cataracts done, "I can see again!". Best wishes, and do look after your new eyes.

alecb

Thanks OP. Just what I need now that I've had my cataracts done and no longer need specs. I never used to bother with eye protection when I had to wear specs but think I might need something in the future. Heated!

AnthHether001

Nice find, GDB2222. I hadn't spotted those! To use the vernacular, I'd give you some heat if it was possible LOL. Have to settle for a 'HotUKDeals' thumbs-up instead. Cheers . . .

These are good. Although the stitching on the inside pockets and the plastic handle don't last too long. And the inside pockets aren't that deep.

I have one of these and they're pretty good quality, I do prefer this though for it's light-weight, easier to carry and stackability. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CE5DA56/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

If people stopped posting Screwfix deals, nobody would have an issue shutting their toolbox.

dickie_engine

Got one of these when on offer at amazon. Love it. So much easier than a rigid box. Loads of pockets to sort tools and so much more flex when trying to get the thing shut. Would heartily recommend.

Can anyone recommend anything better at a similar pricepoint? I'm debating betweenr this or a similar sized heavy duty storage box...

FireOnAWire

I've got one of their standard toolboxes and they do seem cheaply made and too flexible. The top door on mine doesn't line up well as the few tools inside are distorting it (annoyed)

Glenn_Baker

I bought 2 of these, 2 years ago , both now broken , plastic crack and split. I dropped a hammer into it and it put a hole in the bottom.

That's the same lidl toolbox? I think these are a bit better than the normal Stanley range

Gentle_Giant

Yes, but appearances are deceptive. Yes the side walls flex a lot more than the Stanley, but I have had mine a lot longer than I had the Stanley, and unlike the Stanley, none of the hinges have broken yet. The Stanley lasted barely 2 years, and was replaced by a second Lidl box.

If it's these ones you're referring to these hot deal members seem to have a very different opinion. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/large-toolbox-with-various-compartments-for-999-lidl-2142345

Gentle_Giant

As a Stanley, it is a bargain; as a tool box, it isnt - and the quality isnt as good as the larger boxes that Lidl/Aldi regularly sell for less.

I got something very similar for £20 in Aldi yesterday. I know they are flimsy but will be good for car cleaning stuff https://www.aldi.co.uk/workzone-rolling-workshop/p/081938198123600

Ripperoo

Totally agree! Got one from Amazon for £21 last year and also find that even with only a few general hand tools in the top section, the damn thing just wants to fall over. Absolutely useless! On checking, mine is slightly different, as show HERE but is basically the same design.

redromski

Starting to think from the comments this may be ‘flimsy’ so I will pass - thanks anyway

speric07

I paid £20 a few years ago for this, it's rubbish when it has tools in as the plastic is thin and the top doesn't sit flush with the bottom.

Mada06

I wouldn't pay £30 for this, it's pretty flimsy really.

Spriggsy

Both boxes come come out of Israel I believe. The fatmax is indeed high spec with better quality and thicker plastics over the Stanley Pro range and this one is waterproof https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/stanley-1-94-749-structural-foam-toolbox-23in-24-wickes-free-cc-2978639 there’s pretty much always a reason for a spending more and £4 imo buys you a much better box, just depends what your needs are.

Spriggsy

To all intents and purposes it is. Stanley’s black and Decker also own the Facom brand and they almost certainly come out the same factory, there may be some feature upgrade to the Facom box though.

Fatso666

There's slave/child labour "Made in China" and then there's more skilled "Made in China"

Tpbarratt

And what makes you think the Fatmax range isn't made in China/Far East? Maybe Stanley have two ranges to cater for the professional and domestic market? If it's made in China it doesn't mean it's poor quality. Where do you think your Apple products are manufactured? Are they poor quality? Get your facts straight. I'm an ex-buyer of this type of stuff.

hobbes748

It looks like it could be just a black version of this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Facom-BP-P26PB-26-inch-66cm-Tool/dp/B0046GZ89C If it is, I've got a couple of these and I've got no complaints about them. A bargain at £20.

So is this better quality than the Bosch that's available around the same price? Every drill that's posted seems to attract negativity in some way and it puts me off. Who cares if it has the same mechanical parts as another drill?

A tumble drier. Seriously though, are you drilling into brickwork? Almost any drill would do and get some decent drill bits. If you drill once a year I'd get a mains powered drill for £35. If you're into DIY then this drill is a good choice
