I have these, they sound great and I paid around £250 three months ago. No issues at all with them, lots of features, one being able to take calls while gaming as the Wireless 2.4g and bluetooth to your phone work together. This is the best price I have seen for at least the last 4 months.

maxyone1

I must've been drunk than. I thought they are true 7.1.... at least that's what it said on the website I got them from. Had them for a while now but not that long to buy a new pair. ;(

garybb

Yep i understand that but you did point out that the Kraken were real 7.1 but they aren't. These have a swappable duel battery you use with the base station so in other words it takes no longer than 10 seconds to be back up and running.

maxyone1

I chose Kraken due to the fact that were 7.1 and cheaper than SteelSeries at that time. Having a wired headset has been a plus in my eyes as I didn't have to deal with charging them every night or so.

Youve lost me.

Hadn't heard of any of these issues! I've been using steelseries stuff for a few years now and they've never missed a beat, particularly the Rival 110. Thanks for the responses as that does sound too common to be bad luck...

PhattyHUKD

Had a similar experience with the Rival 310. The rubber peeled off within 6 months. Otherwise a good mouse albeit a bit heavy, but I can't recommend it due to the build quality.

Jonathan_Smith

I was literally going to reply with the exact same thing, my friends mouse had the glue fall apart in him and got it replaced and it happened again a few months later, nothing about double clicks though. Such a shame as I like the style of them.

Karlos457

Not voting either way but personal anecdote. I’ve had 3 steel series mouse: 100, 300 and 310. 300 lasted about a year before the glue gave way and the rubber pads all fell off, trooped on for another year or so then developed a double click issue. Treated myself to a 310 and within a couple of months this also started double clicking. Looking online shows RMAs are returned and the double clicking starts again within a couple of weeks. Always been a steelseries fan but their QC seems terrible recently

In my experience the adhesive they use for the grips on steelseries mice doesn't last long, so worth looking into reviews before you buy.

Fulch36

Had one of these for a while, bought to replace a failing Steelseries Sensei - feels pretty nice in the hand though it's a little heavier than the Sensei. Don't really see the point in the screen as it's not in an easy to see spot but the vibration alert thing is quite useful.

I've been watching this for a while, and are torn between this or the Bose QC35's - which I know aren't wireless out the box with consoles but I have various adapters to make it so. Can't find these anywhere to try, and hesitant to drop over £200 on something that I might struggle to return. Can anyone speak from experience as to how comfy these are, and how good overall?

garybb

YES wireless... price drops all the time, white version are cheaper than this on Amazon and the black drop regularly.

MIINT

169 for the wireless?.. I'd probably vote cold if that's the price somewhere now?

garybb

What's your problem with it? Been using it for a while picked it up on the last sale not so long ago for £169.99 great headset. COLD for the price though sorry.

I don't get why headsets need to be for PS4 and PC or for XB1 and PC, that's really ridiculous. Got both consoles? Too bad, that will be 400 quid!

alexmurphy01

Aren't these the follow up to the steelseries H? Which are probably the best surround wireless gaming headphones you can get?

thedynasty

I genuinely don't understand why these are so highly regarded. they don't sound all that great but you are paying the wireless/gaming tax. the mic is crisp and clear very good mic on this, button positions take some time to get used to, not ergonomic at all. so far these have been the most comfortable headsets I have used. the dtx 7.1 is not great in games, decent for movies and music. for £110 you are getting a decent pair of headphones but don't expect Best headphones spiel. That's just the gaming community getting over excited as usual. Mic quality 4/5 Weight / Comfort 5/5 Audio Quality 3/5

jamesakabob

If that video has a combined microphone/headphone that is reasonable for music, film and casual gaming, with decent frequency response, under £150, also useful for 3-4 hour conference calls/lectures where you need to wander around, works on Windows, wireless (not Bluetooth, unless demonstrable as able to manage two way & HD (eg 5.0 but Windows coding still sucks)), over ear, battery over 15h usage, usable as a not overly obvious microphone etc. then I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'm not going to watch a nearly hour long video when you can't even recommend a single headset. I'm not being purposefully difficult, I have great set up now that would make even the keenest audiophile have a wet dream, but I don't think the perfect product for my gaming exists at this price, so this is the next best thing. I've scoured every country I can, but if you know of something else that fits the above bill then please do enlighten.

SteelSeries are ace, but this mouse isn't for big hands or a very flat palm grip, imo. You can always return it.. but if you're used to something like Logitech 518 or G502, etc, this won't feel right. Nice price, though. White is cool!

Mecha membrane is where it's at. The feel of a mechanical without the obnoxious noise

fiqqer

The reaction time is faster for mechanical keyboards as the key is activated half way though the keypress rather than when it hits the membrane. Also less pressure is required to activate the key. There are 3 types of Mechanical keyboards - Linear, fastest reacting and quiet; bumpy, still fast but gives a tactile feel when keypress has been activated and clickly where you can hear when it has been activated. The cheapest are the clicky ones. If you are not a touch typist and press the keys hard they will make a sound, but if you can control your keypresses this should be a quiet keyboard. Mechanical keys will last virtually for ever and will perform consistently. They do not stress the fingers if you type correctly as they will not hit the base of the keyboard to activate, which is what you get with the non mechanical keyboards. I deal with so many people who develop hand/finger problems by using the cheap membrane keyboards normally used.

Laurynas_Misevicius

I don't get it either, I've tried it, it's just loud, maybe feels a bit better when clicking the keys, tad more responsive, in professional gaming sure, but I vow to my razer deathstalker, had it for 5 years and still so nice lol

aveaorganics

What do people see in mechanical keyboards? :/. When we play online all you can hear on discord is people's keyboards going off in the background. Can anyone explain the purpose of these over, say, a membrane keyboard like the razor chroma?

Raz23

Been using this for a few months now, ok for gaming, colours look pretty but it's terrible for typing on, I make so many more mistakes with these keys than any other keyboard I've used.

Raz23

Zen1984

It says "UK English" layout, but the pictures shown are not... e.g. small enter key, the shift+number functions are wrong etc... Does anyone know if they actually supply a proper UK keyboard with all buttons in right places and most importantly a full size key (I tired a US keyboard with small enter once and just couldnt get used to it)? Thanks in advance :)

My Cherry Blues lasted about 2 minutes before I was told to just take it home......

Steviepunk

It looks odd, but it's actually quite good, the extra depth on the space bar make it easier to press while typing. I've been using one of these at the office for the last year and I really like it (since a mechanical keyboard would be a little anti-social!)

No what I'm saying is that you'll get a year of use out of it before the glue melts and the grips fall off. But if you're happy with that design flaw from a premium mouse then heat this deal right up.
