All Super Mario 3D All-Stars Discounts, Offers and Sale - October 2020
You, and others here, clearly don't have a clue how much posters cost. Usually you pay that amount for each poster, plus shipping
In the old days you could get a collector's coin, or a MK7 trophy with your points posted for free. It is sad to see what Nintendo's rewards scheme has become.
It's a nice thing to pin on the wall ...but asking to pay £6+ for postage for a free item!?? I prefer the days of Club Nintendo ...also why is everything always in Silver Coins ...what I am suppose to do with all the Gold Coins I have??
Cheers, had a 1000 odd points just sitting in my account and was after some posters.
The Splatoon 2 keyring set looks pretty cool too, only 100 points.
Actually RRP is 49.99. Of course, retailers have some competition leading to release which can drop this price, but 40 quid is definitely not regular price.
I paid £42 for a copy from ShopTo, and I've been playing it since launch day, something I'd happily pay £2 extra for. No lesson learned here.
I haven't noticed this with N64 Zelda games, they are more expensive than ever despite the rereleases and remakes. I think this really depends on the console. For the Wii, Xenoblade might have lost some value because of the Remastered version, but for more classic/historical consoles like NES, SNES, N64, this doesn't seem to be of relevance. GameCube, perhaps.
Mario sunshine was the only one i hadnt played and the controlling the hose thing annoys the hell out of me. Galaxy was a blast to revisit tho
I used this code a few weeks ago and got it for £38.99. It also worked on other games we bought for PlayStation ;)
Emulation is not illegal.
only got this two days ago already its expired these are cons trying to rip customers off with false offers
I may be having a senior moment but it comes up as 49.99 for me not 43.99 Somebody put me out of my misery and tell me what I'm doing wrong
Emulating is a way for old software to be preserved that may otherwise be lost.
Looks like they've bumped up the price to account for this discount being used.
4:3 ratio on Mario64 is really disappointing and took me somewhat by surprise. I bought purely for Galaxy and it doesn't disappoint, far superior game to Odyssey (still working through that, with only about 1000 moons to collect). Attempted Sunshine and feels jarring to every Mario game I've ever played with the controls not feeling intuitive whatsoever. I'm still happy to have it all as a collection but I doubt I'll ever touch 64 or Sunshine properly.
No point reposting, but this is back in stock so worth un-expiring (y)
They definitely do a pre-order price promise but I didn't think they did price match or refund the difference if something goes down in price a wee while after purchase, that's the domain of John Lewis
Mario 64 feels like a poor offering in my opinion. No widescreen and even some letterboxing. The camera is annoying as always. I really wanted to get into this game this time around having owned the remake on the DS that is also clunky due to touchscreen controls and the camera of course. Sunshine is great but seems to get a lot of hate on the internet. Think people don’t like that it’s not your typical Mario game with the water cannon. If you’ve played and enjoyed the GameCube version you’ll love this. It’s widescreen in HD. I haven’t played Galaxy on here yet but almost every review I’ve seen says it’s a great port and looks fantastic, being the best of the 3 games.
Imo it's worth it for Galaxy alone, plays as beautifully as ever and is one of the finest ever Nintendo games. I've not started Sunshine yet, but 64 is fine once you appreciate how old it is and get used to the camera. Easily worth the £40 I spent on it
I totally agree that’s not worth the risk, and hope it backfires on scalpers lol. But anyway, compare to Mario All Stars Wii, which was also limited - a new copy sells for £50 on eBay. That’s less than double what it cost originally, 10 years later. I seriously think that the majority of people who really want this, are the sort of people who already have a Switch and so have already bought it. Anyway, I guess we’ll see :)
I never ever implied that it's suddenly gonna be 100 quid in 1st April, but my point is that you are most definitely not going to be selling it at a loss (even if it's in used condition and not in its wrap) a little while after the game is not available in stores anymore. This will likely take a little longer than March, too, as there should be plenty of stock. But as @Kidd7 said, if you play the long game this game will definitely be worth over a hundred quid eventually. Now, I'm not too sure if it's even worth keeping it for that long for a 2x gain, unless you are a scalper that has dozens of copies. For the rest of us, I think it's good enough that our investment won't depreciate.
They said "till March" so I was replying in that context. It's not gonna suddenly be worth £100 on 1st April. But yeah, in a couple of years it probably will appreciate - although having said that, I don't think the equally limited All-Stars on Wii has ever been that valuable.
The scalpers sickens me. But if they play the long (long) game - say a few years this is bound to go up in value.
And said new users come into three categories: -Knowledgeable about Nintendo, sees it’s a limited time thing, buys it while it’s still available anyway. -Not knowledgeable about Nintendo, doesn’t know it was limited time, possibly doesn’t know it exists (as it wouldn’t be advertised anywhere), sees the prices and decides they’re not that bothered. -Not knowledgeable about Nintendo, sees this and reeeeally wants to buy it, buys it. I really don’t see the third category being at all large. This is a collection of upscaled ports, essentially (and not exactly a collectible one; it’s not even got any bonus goodies). And it’s readily available now. I really think that few people who don’t have a Switch now are going to care enough in the future to get this. Galaxy is very cheaply available second hand. 64 probably doesn’t appeal massively to newcomers (that is, people who aren’t super nostalgic about this game who’d have already bought this, and people who have grown up with modern games that are more appealing). Both of these are also already available (or have been) on multiple other consoles. Sunshine is the only game that people May want to try, and if they’re willing to give into scalpers on this game wouldn’t they have already been willing to give into Sunshine scalper prices already?
Nur englische Angebote ;) :p .
All you people saying this game won't be rare, maybe you should wait until they actually stop producing and selling it. Ofcourse you can find copies of this game everywhere. But that was the same for FF X/X-2 Southeast Asia version, until they stop production of that version now its selling for more that RRP if you can even get your hands on it.
I feel you may like MyDealz (y)
They certainly could do more with it. Especially in terms of sharing artwork, draft assets etc - as a minimum I'd have expected something like the artbook for Mario maker on the Wii u Likes: Same beloved wonky camera (or dislike?) HD Rumble Music collection that you can't get anywhere else without spending much much more Mario 64 looks great No component cable needed to make Sunshine look great (y) XD
A bold prediction is I think Mario Kart all stars will be out by Xmas :D . Re 3D Mario All Stars it all sounds good, then you watch the YouTube vids and the game ls underwhelming and looks rushed with little effort. I may yet open it...
Watching my 11 year old playing Mario 64 for the first time on his switch and loving it.... Almost shed a single tear of pride.
7 copies in Watford (at time of posting!)
Tbh I think clearly people are really passionate about Nintendo - which is what has kept them alive during the years of flopped and failed consoles like game cube and wii u while Sony and Microsoft ate the gaming market. I think they definitely could have done more, and perhaps seeing reviews saying a proper remake is wanted then maybe they will. But also, think about the thousands of kids who weren't alive or able to play at the time of N64 who've never seen it, and their parents who did play it and want to share that experience with their kids - that's who this is for to me, and enthusiasts/collectors like myself and for that audience it's great. I think it will hit 39.99 very fast, making it easier for others to buy if they wish Equally it would be cool for them to do a halo masterchief collection spin of it where because you bought the game they eventually add more like galaxy 2 without charging, but I don't expect that from Nintendo lol that's a bit too new-school for them lol For me I just want to support Nintendo's 35th anniversary of Mario (main reason they launched this) and to have some game dev happening whilst the world was in lockdown is pretty great even if it isn't an FF7 remake level of work. I get that I'm maybe being super posi, but that's why I play games, cause they make me feel posi haha
I know they didn't. They neither promised nor denied what the remakes were going to be until the release date was close. I just think Mario 64 in particular is one game everybody wants to see a proper HD remake of and are disappointed with what this actually is. Especially given recent remakes of Tony Hawk, FF7, resident evil 2, Crash, Spyro etc. Some probably thought it would be in that vein. It's especially frustrating given Nintendo's tendency to clamp down on any fan made HD remake of the game. That being said I just feel £45 is way too much for 3 old, emulated ROMs. Maybe I'm being too harsh. Galaxy would definitely be worth paying more for. They should have at least added Galaxy 2 to the collection too I think.
£5 back if youve got the Tesco offer on Amex.
If your sitting on the fence with this or want a little bit more detail, thoroughly recommend this YouTube vid.
Was part of the originals charm for me, doesn't work with analogue instead of C buttons tho
It really is 🙈 such an important part of the game changing that camera as you move too. Also, I'm pretty sure cannon aim was inverted in the original when you fire yourself out now it's been flipped and I'm not a fan.
You can get 10% off a Switch from Very at the moment if anyone needs one. On their 9 month payment option.
You would think that..
Good to see my deal is more about the £5 refund than the deal itself (lol) (lol) (lol)
I think I would. Maybe it might be you that wouldn't understand. ;) :p
I don’t think you would understand..
Lol you do make me laugh as you question why people are complaining about £5, but you managed to nab it for £20. I would understand if you had paid the same or more.
thats what i was thinking
Same here, seems like I got lucky judging by some of the comments.
Got the email yesterday around lunchtime and collected from store in the afternoon.
After refunds, my Amazon copy cost me £39.98 (:I
Pretty much every retailer selling this at full price has stock. Literally every Smyths store in the country is showing more than 15 copies in stock, Game, Argos, Amazon - they all have it. It's only the discounters that are struggling to replenish stock and creating this artificial feeling of scarcity. Honestly if I was that desperate to get my hands on a copy, I'd just pay the extra £7 quid.
I ordered my copy from ShopTo and received it on release day. Pretty sure they said somewhere that they only allow purchases for the quantity that they're guaranteed to get, which explains why this is in and out of stock so often with them
I have the same feeling towards 64. I was one of them children who only managed to play 64 at a friend's house so never played it properly before but yes it hasn't aged well it really could of done with a bit of a controller update. Haven't played the other 2 games yet I think they should be better than 64 though.
Somewhat regret buying. 64 has aged terribly. The lack of camera control renders it almost unplayable, and definitely not fun.
Does shop.to notify before taking payment before dispatch
Oh by the way... Are you guys fighting on YouTube anytime soon
Anyone who has an eBay addiction and looking to buy a copy of this game, I'm a scalper and selling my copy for £399. Sorry I meant that's just the starting bid price
Same here :)
My order came at 12 noon today via Royal Mail from ShopTo so very pleased once again with them
From Amazon? Go on the live chat, if the person you get doesn't want to help just disconnect and try again. Eventually you'll get an operator who knows the policy.
You should definitely complain. Look, from my history: These add up over time...
Oh fair enough. :) Strange, I had previously done around 15 and they had all been declined. I raised every single one of them with quidco and they rejected them all saying it is the retailers decision.
I was referring to cash back from the Nintendo Store, where I ended up buying after Base cancelled my order. It tracked at £3, lets see if they will pay. Regarding Base, I get paid cash back from them for physical games all the time. I have actually been paid (not just tracked) for every purchase I made from them so I am not sure why you are having issues. I am using Quidco
Sadly base decline cashback for physical games even though terms state not on video game consoles, tried quiet a few times hoping one would slip through, but none did.
Cancelled my order. I will never use Base again.
Mine still hasn't arrived luckily I was away this weekend otherwise I would not have been happy!
Id say under normal circumstances it would be ok but still being in the pandemic post is taking longer to come through with more stuff going through the network and whether they are down on staff as well. I’d say at the minute only way to guarantee release day delivery is by guaranteed post or buying it in store on release day. Ordered from shopto which arrived on release day but still haven’t had a chance to play it so probably won’t get to it until tomorrow or next week
I didn't get mine either luckily id ordered one from very too who sent it tracked 24, simply games send 1st class which is no good for guaranteeing next day delivery
Yes - my point is, they've clearly got lucky with their local distribution centre. If RM's service in Simply Games' location is currently poor, there's not much that Simply Games can do about it.
That would be the same for shopto would it not?
As others have mentioned, the offer is just under £74 at South Africa, with ~£4 back in points, so that’s effectively £70 for two games or £35 each for Mario 3D All-Stars and Mario 3D Land. I’m in! EDIT: Not drinking tonight, but I may be drunk. I now make it £88 at South Africa :S
doesnt look like its possible.
I’d assume so, unless there is something which prohibits using an offer code on this item. Add it to a basket and find out?
Can you use the studentbeans discount on this?
Digital collectors? Surely that isn't a thing? At least they'll never run out of space on their games shelf.
Did you manage to get a refund through yet ?
Thanks will do but I expect to be told to wait till the 20 working days are up. Hopefully I will be wrong.
You can message them on Facebook or Twitter, I got a reply within half an hour on a saturday
It states on the shopto form you have to complete that they can't do anything until 20 days have elapsed, as per royal mail rules.. They also don't have an email address and only a phone number which I'm guessing that if I call I'll only be told to wait the 20 working days before submitting the form.
Why don’t you just contact them rather than filing a claim? Or have you already done that?
