Yet I struggle with professional, despite there being players who play several tiers above.

I can best him, but only if I do my "perfect" serve, which is typically an ace 4/5 with the other bring a fault. And sometimes pro hits starting edge of table when trying a fancy serve.

Best tip I have is practice keeping it slow and working the two far corners but also the near sides too, you'll find you'll be able to hit the areas acurately before long and at Pro and below, it doesn't punish you for given him too much time to strike the ball and rewards you for placement
I love this game. First game which made me happy that I owned VR

It sounds stupid saying that, but unlike in real life, you don't have to go around picking up the ball! The gameplay is as close to the real thing as you'll get.

Completely agree. I sucked in real life, but then I played this, and in practice, you can strike the ball and immediately generate a new ball by squeezing for a ball in your non-dominant hand, really natural. I just did that over and over till I learned some basic techniques, which didn't take long. Then went and played in real life and I was infinitely improved.

It's a very therapeutic game too I find, time disappears in there

Great find, this is a brilliant, sturdy games table!. We purchased this last Christmas for our then 5 and 8 year old boys and it’s still going strong now.. admittedly table tennis has only been played a few times but football and pool are still played weekly.. We’ve had some great family tournaments, lots of laughs and only a few tears!. Have some heat! 🔥

I'd agree with the 3D on the original 3DS range but it is much improved on the New 3DS & New 3DS XL they have eye tracking that makes the 3D issue almost non existant.

With the original 3DS if you moved it the 3D effect would falter and it caused a lot of people to just turn it off completely.

The New 2DS does look great but I'd honestly go with a New 3DS XL if your happy to pay extra for the 3D as it is really good in a lot of games.
Yoshi's model of console posted would play Mario Tennis just fine IMHO (from a controller layout perspective).

Some other more rigid systems have the traditional "fire buttons" controls significantly higher up on the top half of the unit. This can be uncomfortable and difficult to use, particularly in games where you are doing all sorts of manoeuvres and using all the buttons with frequency. While you can get away without too much frustration on a simple game like New Super Mario Bros 2, a game such as this deal Mario Tennis, not so much. Cheaper systems will only have one way you can hold the controller for all games. Where as the higher spec systems will allow you to hold the controller in different ways to suit both you and the game your playing. Something to bear in mind is all.

Decent game because there is different modes and styles of way to play. …Decent game because there is different modes and styles of way to play. You can bash a ball of a Mario themed wall (a bit akin to Breakout, the classic arcade bat n ball game). You can play traditional tournament mode of course. Is not as good as Mario Golf on 3DS, but is definitely well better than Mario Tennis Wii U, and a decent buy.Can be tricky to do all the controls as you start to progress in the game it gets quite fast and frantic. Probably therefore best suited to 3DS/3DSXL consoles which have a sensible and more useable button layout.

I just had offer of £115 accepted on the L2 size. Thanks OP.
Great price. I still have my original, a wonderful solid, unflappable racket.
IIRC these were made with Kevlar.
Sadly find it too heavy these days, but happy memories.
L2 grip on the listing though, maybe too small for many and it doesn't say what it's been strung with and to what tension.

Front row seats for me

Amazing were you spotted on TV?this is from the returns I presume? Any tips for next year ? I had no luck on returns but still had a great day in my seats
Did managed to get womens Final which was nice, despite the blow out in the second set. The mens dubs from what I did see was fantastic and the womens dubs, well, yeah LOL. It was good they made it open court for womens dubs though. I got a telling off beforehand from a steward cos I moved forward. Jobsworth!

A quick question I do have as I do try to go every day I can, I book the two weeks off work and stay with family in London... I used to use court 3 tickets on ticketmaster as an expensive groundspass to save having to queue every day. However it seems to have gotten more dfficult now. Could this be to do with them making like 75% of the court unreserved and then like 25% reserved, which is not just reserved public tickets but also I assume ballots and press, coaches etc? I doubt they give much allocation to Ticketmaster anymore. I'd roughly estimate like 30-50 seats MAX. Anyone shed some light?
