Realized my error on the missing links now thanks, didn't see it was a multi city listing :) Not sure why it was showing a different price before as clicked same link, all good now tho and seems like a great deal.

I think if you try and buy the one-way AMS-DPS it is £400. But buying it as a multi trip is cheaper. All three SIngapore flights are on the same link.

I'm guessing you've never been to Thailand then, I'm sure you could find more than enough to do, including amazing views and beachs. Cheap scuba diving to name but a few things. The only problem with this deal is that I think you'd find that 10 days just isn't long enough. Voted hot.

Gopher42

Go to the elephant sanctuaries, enjoy the beautiful countryside and beaches. Meet with some of the 69 million people, perhaps you may even enjoy the company of the natives and if your very clever find some that aren't 'Lady boys'.

Woohoo lady boys . On a serious note . If I was not interested in lady boys and elephant torture, what would one do in Thailand?

Used these flights for 3 years running twice to phuket to once as a starting point to travel 4 places in Thailand and once to get to Cambodia. This year same price but to Sri Lanka. We only ever travel hand luggage and it' never been weighed. Always around 7-10kg as you check in on line they don' weigh your bag.

China visa waiver is quite complicated. It depends on where you are actually going to within China on whether you get the visa waiver as it is only applicable at some airports/ports. I never made use of the visa waiver as I went to China for 3 weeks but I planned my friends visit to Thailand and booked her flights so she had two and a half days in Beijing, with the visa waiver. I did find this info on visas for cruises which is interesting. China No visa is necessary for Sanya (on Hainan Island) as long as you join an organised excursion. Foreign tourists arriving in Shanghai on a cruise are now allowed up to 15 days of visa-free stays in the city. Passengers must be travelling on tour groups arranged by travel agencies that are registered in China and the companies must submit the details of their groups to inspection authorities at least 24 hours before the ships arrive in Shanghai to be eligible. The cruise passengers may remain in Shanghai or travel to Beijing, the northeastern port city of Tianjin, as well as coastal provinces where ships often berth, including Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan and Guangxi.

bigmac41

I would check your understanding ....I was on a cruise ship that stopped for one night...and we had to pay the visa ...and you had to pay for the visa even if you stayed on the ship and didn't set foot in china.

neils31

I feel I need a holiday after reading all that ......

rachelandgromit

Indeed, but for some a couple of days in China would appeal for some sightseeing. I'd go back to China in a heartbeat. You can get indirect flights (without a couple of days in China for around £340). If your aim is to just get to Thailand in the quickest time possible then paying an extra £100pp or so would probably appeal.

bowdiddly

Great find, but personally 2 days in Beijing in Nov/Dec then flying to Thailand from China does not appeal. You could get direct BA flights from London to Bangkok for £463pp return 27th Nov - 13th December, then pick up the hotels from the post, overall cost would not be very different, makes more sense to me

I live and work in SE Asia for 10 months of the year and have done for many years. Patong is Benidorm but without the class oO. Rip-offs abound and increasingly has spread to the rest of the island. Thailand, the real Thailand, has to be one of the easiest places in the world to travel around, do it yourself, just book a flight.

KipperRSA

June isnt exactly the wet season, its a great time to go. Yes there may be rain but its usually short bursts late or early and then clears up and is a welcome relief.

cheeky_ash

pat.... all depends what you want really. Bangkok has everything. Great nightlife, great markets, great food, historical sites (and the sleaze side of life if thats what you want) and is very very cheap even with the pound being so poor. I have my favourites. but you have to be more specific to what you'd like. I've been many times to thailand but I head to other places like Koh Sok National Park Railay Beach Ko phayam Samilian Islands Pracup Kiri Kan and many more. but if you decide only to do bkk for 5 nights. I would probably stay near the centre....between sukhumvit soi 1 to 24...would be my advice for accomodation.

benlondon

put it this way, go ANYWHERE but Patong, unless you are interested in sex tourism

dont book that trip, normal boat trip will cost £20pp. as for phuket, patong is the busy place, but if u are a couple, or elder, then go to the other beaches. I've been twice..

Just booked my Dad a couple of weeks in the Phuket sun. He goes to Thailand 1 - 2 times a year. I always take a look at Thomson as they've been operating this flight direct to Phuket for a couple of years now and always heavily discount in November. Couple this with around £250 for accommodation and £150 for spendies (enough for a couple of beers and Thai curry each evening), he gets away for £670 all in. Almost cheaper than staying at home and stoking up the boiler!

Why don't you trust Omega? I've booked flights with them before and not had any problems

Misu

I do travel to Doha quite frequently because my girlfriend lives there so I know that flights from the UK to Qatar are not cheap. You could get cheaper flights with Oman Air or Gulf Air but you need to change at least once. And Pegasus have a worse reputation than Ryanair and they're often late or their flights get cancelled so I'd not use them. I get it that it's a good price for a business class flight and you can collect a huge amount of Avios and tier points but you still need to get to Doha somehow. Maybe we could start posting deals on flights from Dallas to Johannesburg or Vladivostok to Shangai.

MrWanger

Why? Why do people comment on things they have absolutely no clue about :/

Yes ! CENSOR. Censor Censor Censor - never let truth or fact or freedom of speech into it. Then it's clear to spread your own bull as we've seen in America in the rioting and violent physical attacks on anyone who doesn't think the same (but they make sure they outnumber them a minimum of 10 to 1 and if their target defends themselves they run screaming for police) Hyde Park Corner used to be a home of a host of opinions host of religions until one certain bunch attacked anyone who had a different opinion. Do to travel issues in Burma (part of the charm), i would not recommend it if you are on a short time scale. It all depends on what you are after tbh... I love the Philippines, but I would stay away from Manila - it's a great city, but you need to know the city or know someone who knows it to find out all the hidden spots... If do go, let me know and i will tell you where to go.. If you were doing island hopping / city holiday (based upon flight costs), i would do something like: Hong Kong for a 3 nights, maybe pop over to Macau too... Fly to Manila and then connect to Boracay for 3 or 4 nights (it has far too many tourists, but a lot of my friends still love it). From Boracay, i would fly to Cebu and travel down to Oslob and go swimming with whale sharks 2 nights (only 2 nights to relax from travelling too). Travel by boat to Bohol and spend 3 nights - could also go to siquijor on the way for a couple of nights... From Bohol travel to Manila to fly home from or even back to Hong Kong for a night. That's not a bad route... this one is easy enough to do, not too expensive, not too long on a bus etc... All depends how adventurous you are...

snake-hips

Thanks. I'm tempted to try 2 countries in a 2 week holiday later this year and you've just put this on the itinerary. Anywhere else in SE Asia you'd highly recommend?

cundall

I loved the feeling i got in Burma, you could tell things are starting to change, but things were still Asian. I am lucky and have travelled to over 100 countries including most of South-East Asia, never had this feeling before. They have cars with steering wheel on the right hand side, but drove on the left (cars from Japan, but driving the same side as the europeans) - highly dangerous. With my domestic flights they just cancel or change the times when they wanted, i woke up at 2am - checked my emails as you do and i found out at 1am they emailed to say my flight had changed from 4pm to 6am. When i got the flight it must have been some big shot as lots of staff lined up to take photo's with him... One of my boarding passes was made from cardboard! Beer is cheap, weather is good... Not been to the beach yet... Loved the mix of indian in the culture... Just lots of things, i could not put my finger on it.... 100% will go back.

snake-hips

What was great about Burma if you don't mind me asking?

I really don't understand why, when someone has clearly gone to a lot of trouble to put a deal together and share it amongst us do people have to snipe? If you don't like the deal can't you just appreciate the effort someone has gone to and move on? There will be - or possibly have been - deals that the very people who are bitching would probably have liked that probably never made it to the site, as those such as rachelandgromit have probably become fed up and discouraged. The prognosis for this fine site is that eventually it could, in all probability end up being pointless and then defunct as those who really care about bringing deals to our attention say "F*ck it - I can't be arsed any more." Can you just let go of the ego for a bit and just not respond if you don't like it? I just want to say, for what it's worth, thank you so much rachelandgromit and those others who work hard bringing us amazing deals for the effort you have clearly put in to putting this together - and don't be discouraged by those miserable bell-ends who can't afford to compensate for the size of their manhoods (-or womanhoods for that matter) by buying high performance sports cars. I suppose, if they could they wouldn't be looking at hotdealsuk anyway. Cheers. GG

Yes, thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to hear. This holiday is meant for exploring and for someone to complain about jet lagged is absolutely ridiculous. If you're going to travel outside your country and outside your time zone, of course you're going to get jet lag! It's freaking common sense.
