Maybe. Hopefully the new track will be backwards compatible. The super station track takes minis, adventures and Trackmaster, so hopefully they go down that route
Point being, the take and play/Adventures stuff will be obsolete
I beg to differ, these were selling for £24.99 way before TRU were out for every penny due to closure. I know because i bought 2 of them at this price at least 4 months apart (birthday gifts). Louwizz has already stated that during liquidation, TRU had a clearance price of £9.99.
Range to be discontinued and redesigned to be compatible with Trackmaster. They're basically realising a push along version of Trackmaster to replace Adventures, which will include new engines.
It's not necessarily the "going rate". Toys R Us were closing down. They were out for every penny they could recuperate. Aside from third party sellers on Amazon selling them at ridiculous sky high prices, it looks as though, in the UK, at least, Smyths are the only reputable retailer now selling them. Nevertheless, if you can wait until after Christmas, prices for the Thomas Adventures range as a whole will inevitably get slashed, as the range becomes discontinued this month - as indeed, HUKD user, SausageMummy, eluded to.
