I bought plants from them a few times:
* Lavender plug plants (free plants paid postage) now doing well and got some flowers, I use them as a hedge around my front lawn.
* Summer bundle bulbs &
plug plants - most of the bulbs has grown and flowered, some were dead on arrival. Surprisingly the variety of Fuchsia in this bundle turned out to be very beautiful.
* Patio flowers - arrived in not very good condition but still alive.

Tip* open the package and plant them straight away.31952441-3yDy7.jpg

why won't u buy from them again??

Ordered a couple of times:

First time ordered something which never grew (20 plug plants). All appeared to have some insect eating the plant, when the packaging was opened on the day of delivery. The didn't refund after promising, and I didn't chase.

Second time the delivery came in a mess. Send them the pictures, but they did not act after a couple of chase ups. It was only £19.99, so didn't think it was worth my time with any further action.

Of course I could get lucky 3rd time, but now I just go my local Garden Centre and pick stuff up as and when I need. No criticism to T&M. They might be good, just didnt work for me.
Thanks op,

Plug Plants........ T+M have become an awful seller with even more awful C.S this year........ The seeds have been a constant complaint too as many packs fall short of what they are supposed to contain... Just constant hassle... Avoid.

Just plant each one in a 4" pot on arrival and then plant out in any tubs/containers or baskets when they're established

Interesting to read all the negative comments on here when I have had nothing but great quality, with service to match when the very ocassional thing goes wrong. No, I don't work with or for them but I have been buying from them for at least 14 years. It also seems that I'm not the only one who feels this way as they score 4.5/5 on Google.

got 50 lavender last year 1 survived from there little plugs 1

Not surprising if you just planted them in the garden. I had these the year before last. the posti plugs are tiny. I potted them into a plug tray, each plug being about 1 inch cubed. When the roots filled that I potted them into 7cm pots of gritty compost. I kept them in the pots all year, overwintered in a cold greenhouse, but you could put them in a cold frame or the pop up greenhouse. During the first winter they need to be kept on the dry side, but not allowed to dry out completely, or get the root ball frozen.

I then planted them out the following spring and they flowered that year

Agree it's very hit and miss. Ordered several times from them this year and some were fairly high quality but last lot arrived shrivelled and dying. Got a gift voucher in compensation which is useless as I doubt I'll order again.

No. Make sure you paste the code in the right box. There are two.
All sold out?
I've bought quite a lot of plug plants from them in the past couple of years, fuschias, petunias, perennials etc. and haven't had any real issues. Though the Easy Wave petunias that I got the other week don't seem to want to flourish. The plugs tend to be quite small though, and what I really don't like is that you never know which week you are going to get the plants. The silly "special offer" system is infuriating as well.

I wanted some plants that T&M didn't have so I have bought a couple of times from the Ebay seller davidclyde and that's been really good. The plants are bigger than T&M and as they only list what they have in stock, and ship the Monday or Tuesday after purchase, I know exactly when they will arrive.

Worse is the shocking customer service... If your order arrives OK then no problem, if not then like me and many others you'll be waiting weeks to get any kind of help... Used these for years btw... But never again.

+1 , same experience here , always use T&M but the last couple of years in particular have been awful , quality of plants has taken a real nose dive. Growing on rates dropped from 90% + down to around 30-40% , it really was that bad !
Never again !

That should be an exclamation mark and not a question mark at the end of your statement.
I've had these in previous years. Yes they are pretty tiny (about an inch or two) but they grow on well with minimal input and there's enough of them that a few casualties don't hurt too much!

I've always found they have excellent customer service. I ordered 6 sweetpeas earlier this year. Only 3 arrived but they included a letter explaining that most of their crop had been damaged by hailstone. They had also included a £5 gift token. I called them to explain that 3 was no use to me due to my planting scheme so i'd have to source the others from elsewhere. They refunded me in full and still allowed me to use the voucher. I've purchased plenty of plants from them over the last year and all have been good quality.

Hmm, well my hanging baskets will be planted within the next few weeks, so even if the plug plants came next week they wouldn't have put much growth on in time for planting.

I fear this ending up the same as the "jumbo" pansies I bought from Jersey Plants Direct last autumn. They turned up as microscopic, barely rooted plugs weeks too late to be of much use. They also all turned out yellow when they were supposed to be mixed.

I've had success buying plants from Ebay sellers but I think in future I will stick with plants from Homebase - good quality and value.

Thompson & Morgan use to be great to buy plants form 15 years ago. I have never had a problem with the Plant as such. The problem has always been with Royal Mail using the boxes of plants as football or the plant get cooked it the back those little red vans on a sunny day or the best one, was forcing a pack of plant thought the letter flap that was obviously to small.

In all case T&M have aways be helpful in replacing the damaged items & evan upgrading item to compensate for the inconvenience caused as a part of their 5 star guarantee.

The best buy use to be 90 cell pack of Busy Lizzy's or Petunias for £9.99 then the price went up 11.99 and so on, and if you ordered a few pack P&P was always free, the best thing they (guaranteed a minimum of 150 plants) in each 90 cell pack all the cells were double of triple seedlings my record 205 Busy Lizzy's (just to buy the seeds alone 3 packs of 30 seeds £2.99 each x 5 £14.94 Busy Lizzy's aren't the easiest to start off so a Bargan I use to split them but that was the good old days.

In the last 3 years there is more emphasis on vouchers for £5 off your next order which was basically free P&P. Now since last year pay £5.65 P&P and get free plants not a fan of this. However now the pack are smaller and better packed not had any delivery problem recently

Can only echo most the above. Pityful plants. They actually refused to publish my 'review' of one of their roses (which I actually waited over a year to get the rose only to find their popular photos of the rose were very inaccurate when mine finally flowered) eventho it kept well within their guidlines.
