Barclaycard Platinum Travel Credit Card 0% fees on spending and withdrawing cash abroad if you pay the balance in full

Very good deal. This card really works.

Biioniic11

I have this credit card and it’s great! I travel abroad regularly and I prefer to use cash. It’s a phenomenal credit card for cash withdrawals and tends to beat Halifax Clarity (which I also own) rates for cash withdrawals as Halifax charges interest on cash withdrawals! Would recommend

Anon32

Also try and read the whole article as it was from mse not just picking bits out! Ifs talking about a different card there "And if you pay off your balance in full each month, you won't be charged interest on overseas cash you withdraw, unlike most cards, incl Halifax, which charge daily interest on cash until it’s paid off. Please note on UK withdrawels you will pay interests from the date of the transaction! All-in, if you’d mainly spend on a card, Halifax win. Also, the fact it’s a Mastercard means it tends to beat the Visa rate Barclaycard has. But if you’ll mainly take out cash, Barclaycard’s zero interest if paid in full makes it a winner as you can wait for the statement when you get back!" It might not be very clear but they are talking about the halifax clarity card the one which is a master card. Also as its mainly copy and paste then i can't read what i haven't typed as its copied i do try and make sure it makes sense though!

Anon32

No fees mate just don't use it in the UK where you'll pay a transaction fee and interest strsight away

jumpinoffthbed

Thanks for checking this out, banks are very good at hiding fees. I took a card away with me last time that they told me had no transaction charges but when I got back there were conversion fees on my statement & they add up believe me.

I've been to Milan twice now and there are spots that aren't great but generally a great city for a short break. For £60 it's a great deal. I'd agree the San Siro is a bit far out from the center though.

maccy1

Cheers chichi :D

Rumana03

totally agree...there is hardly anything good to see there. the place is crawling with underage drinking & smoking (they actually have cigarette vending machines on streets!!). its extremely dirty with cigarette butts all over the floors. the only good thing about it is that the trains are cheap and you are able to visit nearby countries easily if you wish to do so. definitely go lake como if you go to milan.

lovetolaugh

Thankyou for this. We went to Milan last year and loved it loads. The only bad thing was being bitten by mozzies x

I don't think people understand the value of cruises. sailing to some places that are not cheap to stay. This is 14night for £873pp or £125 per night for a couple For that £125 you are getting a room as much food as you can eat(not just 3 meals but your snack in between) and an open bar with some entertainment(fairly good on Marella) thrown in. Along with the transport to the various places while you sleep. You would be lucky to get a room breakfast and a dinner for that using a B&B/hotel ( OK at a spoons on a Sunday £85 with the 3 main meals and 4 drinks )

Daz555

I have been on the sister ship and at that price it's a bargain. As noted elsewhere the drinks package alone would cost the price of the ticket on some other higher end ships and Discovery is all inclusive for the basic drinks and you can pay a little more if you want a full choice of everything on offer. I thought the breakfasts were a little dull - fine but dull. The evening food we ate was always excellent however and for about 20 quid you can upgrade for a meal at a speciality restaurant - well worth it.

chigger1

Been with TUI (Thomson Cruise) before and can agree. This is a budget cruise and the food was repetitive but friendly staff. the cruise might be cheap but they look to makeup the shortfall with the price of expensive shore excursions etc

kieranfr

After watching documentaries recently about the Costa Concordia I'll pass.

tubbyhubby

I did this cruise a couple of years ago with Celebrity, and cost a lot more, having sailed with Marella before and again in July 2018 i would recommend them. The staff are great and at this price it is a bargain for 2 weeks

Does the bugle horn have rooms?

gepw

Can’t see that. Say for example an items retail price was £25,000 and it was up for £10,000 that’s surely a deal, albeit it’s not cheap, Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t meant it’s not a good deal.

iamprobably

Well its all relative isnt it. I wouldn’t look at a pillow below £50, for instance. Others wont look at a pillow above £10. i hate hotels and do everything i can to avoid them - but if i had to stay in one it has to be a good one. Others would consider a travelodge the creme-de-la-creme and a ‘bit of a treat’. Good deal - good hotel. You get what you pay for.

Just back from Thailand with TUI. Best holiday ever and a GREAT price AND Dreamliner flights.

peterdarlison

not just me, it seems tui only want money. try reading what some people have gone through and you may change your mind. there is a site also called tui nighmares. im very glad your holiday was good though. trouble isthat you only find out how good a company is when it goes wrong.

redromski

Not sure if you referring to Tui as a whole but we are just back from 2 weeks on the Marella Discovery and the service, food, drinks and entertainment was a very high standard. Hot from me and strange you also made a similar comment on the last Marella Cruise deal 4months ago - me thinking you have had a bad Tui experience (annoyed)

johnkers: Flawless logic...I have returned the money I saved to BA I am also returning all the money I have saved on special offers at the supermarket on items containing animal products as this is clearly not fair on people who choose to be vegans and are paying a subsidy for meat eaters. I've just realised that I bought a hat in the January sales subsidised by people who choose not to wear them. And so on... I feel really guilty and would like to apologise on behalf of all parents. Thanks for explaining it to us. So u should. Extra time off work paid government subsidies and free meals for kids at every pub chain in the school hols. If you can't afford kids. Don't have them!

Can you fly from Manchester or Liverpool?

Sulphur.Man

Agree with you, but this is purely for flights, not a package holiday, which is where the school price-inflation is most blatant. Flights can be booked 364 days in advance. My wife and two children are going to Southern Ireland for May half-term, flights total £214 for all of us, as we booked well in advance. Whether with family or not, flight prices only ever go one way as the departure nears - up. This deal isnt so much about families, it's about competing with the other budget airlines. Still hot though!
