I posted this the other day on another deal: For anyone looking to get into this (and you definitely should), I've just finished my run-through in the attached order (not my list) which made a lot of sense. One of the books is out of print (I paid £20 for a used paperback copy!), but most everything else is accessible.
Love this programme (y)
My absolute favourite TV show ever, completely warrants repeat viewing. Go in with an open mind; it will subvert expectations and will endeavour to challenge you as a viewer. Probably would help to have seen any of David Lynch's previous work beforehand to know what you are getting yourself into. The film, Fire Walk with Me is absolutely essential in my opinion too.
Most bonkers show ever made

Twin Peaks Seasons 1-3 (everything except Fire Walk With Me) Blu-ray Boxset £28.99 at Amazon£28.99Amazon Deals
Absolutely 100% not. The entire first half of season two (along with the whole of season one) is built around a central mystery which influences every scene because you don't know which are related to it and which aren't. Watching Fire Walk With Me before that is resolved would completely destroy that, as well as ruin Fire Walk With Me, because not only does it show what actually took place, it assumes the audience already knows and is structured to take advantage of that. No offense, mate, but what a terrible idea.
The owls are not what they seem

He probably wrote the prequel after writing the events of the 2nd season.
“made sense” and “twin peaks” are two phrases not often heard together. (cheeky)
As an avid Twin Peaks fan since the '90s, I'd strongly advise buying "The Entire Mystery" set (which includes the original run, plus Fire Walk With Me and The Missing Pieces, plus some truly brilliant extras) and the "A Limited Event Series" set (which is just the third season plus extras) instead of this. Fire Walk With Me is a huge, huge, huge part of the story and vital to understanding the third season.
No Fire Walk With Me means you are missing a LOT. Series 3 (The Return) has a lot to do with Fire Walk With Me and probably won't make much sense if you haven't seen it.
It wasn't supposed to have the same comedy of the original, just like FWWM didn't.
Fair enough......we all see things differently (y)
I have to disagree - Dougie was hilarious

Believe it's on Now TV (probably not HD) if you have it.
I must give this another try. I was aware of it when I was a kid but only properly watched it a couple of years back. Just couldn't quite get into it. Maybe I need to persevere as no one seems to say anything bad about it
There have been many great TV shows over the last couple of decades or so - The Sopranos, The Wire, The West Wing etc - and a lot of great debate has taken place about which is the best of the best. But Twin Peaks is so good, so unique, it's simply incomparable with anything else and so imo, it sits in its own peerless universe, just around the corner from the white lodge.
You HAVE TO WAIT 25 years after season 2 It’s not fair if you don’t

It's really stupid how you have a big piece of double sided tape to attach your photo to box. It damages it after few uses. Why not velcro to safely remove it? And what is that QR code on box about? Some random number.
Thank you ordered. I'm glad I waited instead of paying more than twice that on preorder.
Nah. The second series has issues (the blame is on the tv network taking control away from lynch) but Lynch more than makes up for it in the final episode. Series 3 is great, it happens to be the rare series to actually get a placement in sight & sounds top films of the year (mainly due to lynch classing each episode as a film) and placed as high as number 2. It’sreceived widespread acclaim by both fans and critics so recommending people skip it simply because you don’t like it is unfair.
Indeed. It was stunning!
Gotta light? If any episode needs 4K then that was the one.

Just literally started watching this show, do I watch all episodes then this FWWM ?
It does, but it doesn't include season three because it was released before that aired. Best bet to get the entire story is buy "The Entire Mystery" and the separate Limited Series set. Both can be found pretty cheap. This new "television collection" set is just trying to rip off people who aren't familiar with Twin Peaks and don't know about the movie or how essential a part of the story it is.
FWWM had a Criterion release in the US. It’s possible it’s a rights issue. Maybe we will get the Criterion in the UK release at some point.
Oh no...just bought yet another Twin Peaks box set: trying to justify to myself as its Blu-Ray!
I have The Entire Mystery which I believe includes FWWM.

All three series of the brilliant David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
You can still get the boxsets of all 3 seasons on Blu-ray for about 30-40 all in. Only 2 episodes mastered in 4k so it's just not worth £100 & also apparently the packaging is shocking (see Amazon reviews) When the 4k boxset comes out then I'll dive in if the 4k mastering makes a big difference. Amazon have price matched for those with more money than sense!!
the return? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooope!
I wouldn't consider going out of my way to find an HMV that's selling it for the sake of saving 71p
Seemed to be - I got mine in Dundee, but others were down south (England) rather than south (Scotland), so not just nationwide, but multi-national. :D Part of their clearance, so store stock might be different. And it was a couple of weeks ago.
