I agree. There is too much content out there pretending to be 4K. At least this one is the real deal.
Just gone up the 4K route and this is one of the best discs to show it off. Heat.

Uncompressed audio has more importance to the overall movie than 4k does for me.

I'd choose 1080p with uncompressed audio over Apple TV 4k every day of the week.

From a disc perspective, 4k Blu-ray is awesome, but only from a true 4k master. If it's mastered in 2k you may as well still to the 1080p blu-ray - unless the 4k comes with a better audio track.

If you're all excited about your amazing 4k TV but you're still using compressed Dolby Digital or DTS, you're doing it wrong. Apple TV cannot deliver high quality audio at all.
Apple bitrates are around 25 as opposed to 15 on Netflix.

Besides, anyone stating the Apple 4k versions are inferior to the 1080p Blu-ray is just talking nonsense. 4k discs are better but not amazingly better. I own the 1080p Blu-ray, the 4k digital versions on Apple 4k tv and also purchased the trilogy on 4k UHD Blu-ray. Viewed on a LG Oled.
meh its well over double the cost of 'regular' blurays
how long was it for bluray to become reasonable vs dvd? generally a 30% premium for a much bigger difference in quality
i'll maybe hop on board in 5 years or so

I can enjoy The Dark Knight to a degree, but that's mainly because of Heath Ledgers excellent performance. I love the Batman character and just can't take Bale seriously in this role. I found Ben to be perfect in that role and even though BVS is hugely criticised , i really enjoyed it because he makes a great batman

OK I stand slightly corrected - this TV, plus an Apple TV 4K connected at the 4K HDR 60hz setting looks absolutely great - whether playing native 4K content or upscaled 1080p. Very, very impressive for the price. My other quick observations - Ambilight is good but a little overwhelming at first - not sure we will have enabled all the time, but great for movies. Haven’t really noted any viewing angle issues at all. Xbox also looked great - my kid was playing Lego City however, so response time (whether good or bad) less noticeable. All in all, a great deal.

Voted hot and I don't even have 4k but if I would, I'd get it.

Watched this in 3d ( which was effectice) at cinema and was deserted and I couldn't help but wonder why ?

Well almost - Except for eventually being accompanied 2 tools sitting RIGHT next to us who almost spoiled it, coming very late into the cinema it had started already, might have been muttering something about taking their seats or something ?

Its an empty cinema on a started film you utter tools, you can sit whereever you like but I'd rather that instead of ruining the experience they could just said, oh do you mind moving I think you are in our seats.
Didn't disuade from a very good film for a 2000ad fan, this will be a timeless film so definitely worth owning in the best quality you can

I agree with you. I got fed up and switched "The Raid" off ! Dredd however was great and Urban was rightly praised as getting Dredd right. To be fair to Stalone, he wasn't bad,
but the helmet should NEVER come off, and the idiot story line was typically American standard which they also used to destroy their take on Dr Who. Everything going wrong, loads of pain and no way out but he succeeds and wins. Here it was done much closer to original

Sky Q, Netflix and Prime do me fine, I don't pixel peep and provided I get 5.1 DD/DTS I'm content.I was Lovefilm for the longest time until they retired it.My comment wasn't trolling, I just was curious as to who exactly is buying these barring collectors.

Well I do

1. Sky Q is min 20 pounds + 10 pounds for the movie channels + 5 pounds for boxsets and +5 pounds for HD channels ?. So you are spending 40 quid a month at least on Sky. Then 12 pounds for Netflix and 7.99 pounds for Prime. Basically you are paying 60-80 pounds a month on entertainment which buys a fair few blu rays a month. For example I bought about 5-6 blu rays from the pound shop last week, 8 new titles from amazon with the spend 50 get 10 pounds off. HMV also have some very good deals on.

2. I can pick and those what I want buy and watch. The problem with streaming services unless you subscribe to them all it can be difficult to watch the movies you want to see. No all of the services carry the same movies and it is only going to get worse as the studios start their own streaming services.

3. Larger choice and not limited by monthly changes. Streaming services do have a large range films but generally tend to be the popular ones. If you a fan of the older movies, or certain film type like world cinema your choice can be limited. Physical media does not have that limited factor. Additionally if you own the film you can watch it when you want you dont have watch it this month because it is going to cycle out of rotation next month.

4. Better quality. Streaming services are getting better in quality and certainly it is more than watchable. However it is fair to say the blu ray and 4k physical media are still way ahead of the choice and selection of times in these formats.

This is not to say streaming services are bad and I admit I recently signed up to netflix and have been very impressed with the service. I just like having the physical media and being the one in control. I feel like I at least have something still of value in my hands.

Experience of cheap brand TVs like this is that the '4K' is not to be taken literally. It'll be perhaps a shade better than 720p (HD Ready) compared to a branded TV.
Great TV for the price. Hot!
Terrible TV
This is just another noname brand from the manufacturer Vestel.

Vestel produce a lot of very cheap TVs and market them under literally dozens of names to make it appear that there are a lot of competing suppliers. They are just the same TV with very slight variations between them.

It makes no difference which of their TVs you purchase there really wont be much difference between them. Some people will be attracted to a name they haven't heard of rather buying from brands like Bush or Alba. Some might associate the names with old British brands of the same name and feel nostalgic or nationalistic. Don't be fooled they are produced in countries like Slovenia or Turkey are just a rubbish as each other. You may be lucky and get one that works well for a long time, or as is most likely you will get it and barely lasts the minimum warranty period they are designed for.

To get a better quality TV you have to pay more - sometimes not much more. In the old days TVs used to last for ever - it was a reliable product. Now it is a disposable item.

it only did it twice on one night.

if it starts doing it I’ll either get tv changed or put a smart WiFi plug on the tv and turn power off for at night

BUT on Saturday night the tv randomly turned on at 3am and then at 5am. Only done it one night. I’ve changed the remote batteries incase it was them dying and I’ve updated firmware off the internet to newest version as it updates it to a newer version than auto update does.anyone else had the same problem? Hopefully was just the remotes with cheap batteries that came with it

YEP .... mine has done exactly the same .... i nearly shat myself as i heard all this talking in my living at 3 in the morning. its happened three times in all but the way i got around it was to put the smart remote in my coffee table drawerwhen i turn the tv off at night and it hasnt come on since ..... might just be a coincidence though .

Yeah, I bought a device from Argos once and it didn't work with DJI Go app and they wouldn't take it back. I guess if you play on the BLURRY screen(say it seems faulty), they would have to do something for you.

Not Blurry, but yes lower quality resolution. For £99.00 I think its a steal with the expandable memory capability, I have loaded it with all my apps and many of the decent games (Limbo, Thomas was alone, Don't Starve) and it still is only half full on space after inserting an extra MicroSD card.

Just tried it, JAN50 code is not working. Also the TV is 599 on Hughes so would it still work as it's technically not over 600?

Appreciate your help!
