So there are exceptions ? Of course there are. But the exceptions are NOT the majority, and that should be obvious. My opinion is admittedly coloured by actual discussions with them. There lack of knowledge of what they lecture us with is eye opening.General politics. And the women are even worse. I broke my leg, it was misdiagnosed by a "doctor" at a local hospital. It was eventually discovered too late, and I had been using a crutch. I had went out with friends using an elbow crutch the first time I had got out in months. The Free Trade. The pub was packed out with students. I tried to get past tapping shoulders and saying "Excuse me" they weren't making any effort to move - my mate ahead just stood on the back of their heels if they didn't move - not my style. I tapped this bottle blonde student cow - and she screamed, glared at me and looked to her friends for support. All for affect. Misandrist cow - I was in a rage. My mates got me out, laughing at my anger and embarrassment. My already low opinion of them went sub cesspit level. And has never recovered from dealing with them since

Students getting current potential debts easily in the region of very realistically £30k-£40k+? (and counting ... ) So for those genuine Students out there, if they're able to save so much as even 5p?, then that's potentially 5p more then that of what they might otherwise have had hidden in their pockets, etc? (that hardly seems like mollycoddling to me?). It's almost saying, because Council Tax goes into thing's like paying for the roads, you're therefore not going to bother paying it? (simply because you don't drive?). Whether that argument would inevitably be deemed as justifiable to absolve you from that payment or not is beside the point (because one way or another, someone has to do it?). Not everyone out there is born with a silver spoon in their mouths? - where they can literally pick and choose for the best of their lives whether to go to Study Today, then also literally change their minds just as quickly, by then deciding not to bother again with any form of Education come Tomorrow (and know they'll still be silver spoon fed for the rest of their natural lives regardless ... ) Etc etc etc?. That's one of those otherwise sad realities of life I guess?. Everyone's path is different basically? (that's all I'm saying, lol). :-)

Students - mollycoddled already, taking their "entitledment" to new extremes almost daily

You're correct, Amazon prime support's you as Amazon prime for a maximum of 4 Year's straight!. I remember reading such on Amazon's website (Student tab/section - top right), at some point last Year ... It's definitely a 4 Year's max window. But may be worth you reading/clarifying that for yourself also?. :-)

I think I just used to lick them ,lol. I was a disgusting child.

Did you ever try to dip the nibs in water to see if they could be stretched out a little further? Or take out the cartridge and put a few drops on that to see if it worked!!! I did! (embarrassed)

My 12 yr old saw these and desperately wants them. I'm sure I had to make do with dried out felt tips with nibs that pushed in easily when I was a kid.

Thank for the deal, I'm going crazy buying stuff nowadays for children, I need counseling 😶

My dad's had his since 1967 and still as strong as ever. Voted hot

I got my first Eastpack back in 1996, still have it and use it. Still intact although looks a bit worn now.

Amazing bags, i bought one for college 15 years ago and it's still going strong with daily use now. Heat from me!

Do you need to keep anything for the warrenty?

I used the warranty as the straps of my rucksack had comeaway. They repaired it with straps of a different colour to the original. Bit of faff as i had to send it to Germany to be repaired- cost £10 to do so. Also it took about a month to be returned. In principle a good idea to give a lengthy warranty but a bit of a pain in practice.

It tried to charge me, so don't like it, made me worry just before New Year

Someone on Twitter just suggested the code: HLDY16S - my sister's just tried it and it's worked! And I received my original order today, so looks like they are fulfilling them! :)

Their Twitter account has reported on the issue "Sorry to those experiencing issues with our £30 holiday promo code - working to find out what's going on, so stay tuned." I do wonder if like you say, they realised it was open to abuse. A mistake like that could hit a company hard if 10s of thousands of people pick up on it.

Nothing in the fine print, maybe, but I imagine they soon realised this was wide open to abuse from an audience somewhat wider than originally intended..........;)

This does look good, I already have two camera bags, one is like a small proper one, the other also seems to double as my man bag, but this does look good.

Indeed, it's more than likely not waterproof. A rain cover like this would do the job.

I doubt it's fully waterproof. Would need to get some sort of rain backpack cover.

These are about £10 on the geek/wish app. Yes it takes ages to come from China but it depends how bad you need one.

Ah, it was back when Prime first began that I tried and failed...... maybe they've had a lot like me and lifted the restrictions then. Be nice if they would actually tell people mind you! Thanks for the info, will email later. How did they take payment, can they just add it to the account then we pay? Would be so much easier for everyone if they just accepted and validated NUS card numbers!

It has only been recently that Amazon have lifted the restrictions (I applied and was accepted in October). The email address i used was: Just attatch a photo of your nus card and explain it's an application to join Amazon Student Prime. :)

I sent a message and asked and they refused to accept I was actually a student. Told me they would only accept a letter on headed paper from university which is pretty difficult to come across in the digital world of OU.... I am more than happy to be proven wrong on this though. Did you just email the 'contact' bit on the site?

Yes you can. If you send an email to Amazon with a shot of your nus card. They will accept you for Amazon student Prime.

Vocal minority perhaps? Maybe good on a 15.6 or above, but on smaller screens it is less important.

My apologies, I should have said "majority preference is 1920x1080", of course it's up to every individual , if you are happy, it's good for you, all the best.

Yeah - i find it quick enough for the things you've mentioned and i'm sure adding some more ram and/or an SSD will help increase the speed even more if you need to.

Basically the higher the screen resolution the smaller stuff we be on the screen so you can fit more on. It's entirely separate from what resolution the laptop can output and will only matter for external use if you want both screens to display exactly the same thing.

Awesome to hear, is it quite quick? I tried it out in store and it seemed to be fine for what I'd use it for (web browsing, Office and then light gaming). The irritating thing was that it seemed weighed down by the security tag so I couldn't judge the weight of the device really. I might need to take it to/from university every now and again and wasn't sure if it would be fine in a decent backpack..
