Sometimes if you play the "inconvenience" card they relent; not always though unfortunately. Seems very wasteful to me.

I said almost the same price per terabyte, which it is. :p Maybe useful if someone can't afford more than £100 or so, since that's prob the highest capacity you can get for that amount of cash at the moment.

Thanks for help

It will work as a normal hard drive inside there is a Seagate Barracuda ST8000DM004 8TB

Ah, good point, I retract my comment..

The camel didn't track the prime day deal, was probably on holiday..

The lowest it's ever been was £329.99 on prime day. I thought that Amazon would've repeated that deal (annoyed) (skeptical) :(

they pulled this offer too early grrr

The evga 2080 xc was £699 @ scan yesterday and £711 @ amazon, stock didnt last long. Hoping there will be a evga 2080 drop somewhere in the black friday deals somewhere :) .

Max power you can get is 2.1 the tittle is misleading saying 4.2 whe you cant combine the ports

Metal in industrial premises cos more suited to industrial environment including regular mandatory electrical safety inspections by professionally qualified personnel, none of which is applicable to the vast majority of domestic installations where unqualified have-a-go-hero Joe Public will happily play with mains sockets. Yeah you're right: I won't buy any.

If your not keen ,don’t buy it then. However have you ever wondered why the electrical sockets used in industrial premises are usually metal? They are however usually switched I agree.

Its 2.1a shared per bank and there are 2 so thats a total of 4.2a. its BG so mid range and for that price cannot really argue. i would really love to say better than LAP but the LAP usb port sockets for the price / quality tend to stand the test of time just as well.

I'm not sure what COLOUR "Pearl/Silver Nickel plate" is - it looks like a soft brass colour, but I'm I'm guessing it is just silver and the picture is misleading?

Ever tried using this to connect a tablet to the tv? I have a Samsung Tab S and it's apparently pretty fussy about mini hdmi wires.

Link? I need Ethernet too ...

I’m after one with Ethernet with a plastic cover. The metal covered one I’ve got at the moment scratches the laptop.

Fair comment (highfive)

Micro USB cannot power a MacBook or any other USB C laptop so not comparable.

For directly recording to this might not be suitable, assuming there's a seagate barracuda non-pro inside, its rated power on hours are 2400 per year whilst seagate's dedicated nas hdd is rated for 8760. For backing up recordings however, if you're doing it in bulk occasionally it will be fine.

I got one one Thursday. I personally think it’s very slow and quite noisy. I changed from a WD Passport 4TB to this and overall the WD is way faster. I have it connected to the XBOX One X.

If you can back up now to NTFS then this should work.

Sorry. I have a 3 camera setup, samsung with a 1tb HDD. I want en external drive to back up every month too. So I can keep say 6 months at a time. Does that help ? 1 the currently lasts about a month of recording.

No, this was just a general tip on not loosing your data. Imagine having all your photos of your children gone and you never had a back up. That would be devastating.

No usb c . No Power Delivery 3.0

Thanks and can we make any use with fire stick and or fire tv

Personally, Nvidia shield TV. Without the AC power, I would get lag and crashing when connecting external storage. Wireless remotes won’t work when I connect large flash drives, SSDs or HDDs

Plugging in extra USB devices.

what this can be best used for??

A Appreciate your kind words :)

Taa Mrswitch. Methinks Hotukd ought to be compensated for hosting fees, website, staff, etc...except for...Mrswitch and people who take time to find such deals and post them. Do you get paid in free electricity and to slouch over a computer for long hours? I reckon there should be a framework to donating to charitable causes yes, but gratitude, me being old-fashioned, sometimes comes out of the pocket. Suggest option to donate to those who have save us a pretty penny? I was looking at slang for having been able to save money and remembered the expression "Saved us a bomb" but can no longer find it. Is it just me or that slang phrase has become politically corrected? I don't like losing my slang. Save Our Slang.

Thank you, using 10 USB ports as we speak and it just keeps getting worse... this will be great for my Oculus.

I jumped on this OP. I need me a proper non-underpowered hub for my NVIDIA Shield TV. Thanks.

I presume you mean a Hub that supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbs as Type C is the connector type and has no bearing on speed. Not many devices support 10Gbs USB anyway although that will increase a lot now that Intel have finally integrated it into their chipsets.

Great stuff. Looking forward to mine arriving.

Ordered. Mate has one, looks great

I bought this last week on laptops direct and have been very impressived by it. The difference between 60fps and 144/240hz is ridiculous

For AMD cards, it synchronizes the monitor's frame rate with the frame rate being rendered by the GPU - which eliminates screen tearing and makes gameplay smoother.

Ive got the Pg258q which I think is the same panel but a different monitor. They're stunning. But the bezel is deceptive. Looks like there's barely any bezel while it's off but once on an additional black border becomes visible. You can see the border here if you scroll down the page a bit to the images. It's the grey ish not quite black border that's shown when the screen is off. It's not a big deal, but it's wider than the narrow bezel suggest. A lot of displays are like this. I have another benq display with a completely different panel that does the same thing. It looks almost bezel free when off but switch it on and there's a hidden border. Edit: a word. Additional info. To be clear, I'm not bashing the display. The border under the glass thing is pretty common.

ugh. idk m\ybe defective device?try ask aukey

Didn't seem to answer it. I only have a dongle and usb speakers plugged it and it's worryingly warm.

"Question: Should the device be getting warm when in use? Answer: Im not aware of mine getting warm but I would imagine if all of the slots are used especially the charge one green. then it probably does get warm. By keith on 13 May 2018 Mine gets slightly warm when in use. I would expect it to get warmer the more power you're pulling from it, for example if you have an external disk drive attached to it. By DarkTheyWereAndGoldenEyed on 13 May 2018 I've not noticed this happening with mine. By Simon W. on 13 May 2018" from Amazon

Anyone else seeing this on amazon, I've getting a currently unavailable using the link provided.

Mine came today. I'm a little worried about using it though. The thing gets very warm and the usb devices plugged into it are hot to the touch when removed. Surely this isn't normal/safe.

There aren't any equivalent LGs (or any other brand) which display 100% Adobe in 32 inch 4k at anywhere near this price. Excellent monitor and price, ordered last night.

Do you have a link to this LG?

£739.97 on Amazon?

Why would you buy that when you can get an equally expensive (£10-15 cheaper) LG 4K monitor,

does it come without stinky Acer written on it?

Yeah it usually good qaulity is excellent not sure what you got.

I know I can get a refund, but that wasn't the point. I'd rather have the unit working. And given the glowing reviews about it's quality I was surprised at the power cable not fitting into the unit.

Ohhhh you mean the power supply, thats weird, just contact Yeuying or Amazing and get a refund and show them the video. You're covered by Consumer rights act and have evidence to prove so, you're well within your right for one.

It sounds as if you don't believe me... Short video

Well its not though is it, you're taking it for granted, even so a decent extension lead.

Why is this so hot? The 20k warranty is pretty meaningless IMO

Better value I believe

I realise the 2.4A is supposedly shared between the 2 ports, but if you only use one of the USB ports, can it supply 2.4A if needed, or is it really 1.2A for each port? Thanks.

got something very similar from ALDI not long back, £9.99 full price.

Absolutely no deal at all. This has always been at this price. Good quality product though.

Is this Hot sale deals? Or Hot UK deals? If its a good deal.. I post.

This has always been at this price, hasn't been discounted at all (yet)

Brilliant spot! Posted! Thanks.

Right now it’s buy one get £10 off making it £9.99

For £21.99 you can get there 5 port one with one QC 3.0 port

I bought this recently, works well and has LED's to show what is connected. It is the older QC 2 but it's pretty fast for the price:

Cold, no Quick Charge at this price.

Not sure if I'd want to trust a charger with my £60 controllers who rips off amazon's logo, a little too cheap in my eyes. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they get charged while connected to the dock/cable directly plugged in? Why waste money and space on another docking system?

Does this stop charging once the controllers are fully charged?

Gr8 price Thanks!

I'm not sure I would trust this to not damage anything I plug into it. It is a cheap price however so not voted either way.

Nope it doesn't 😔 just tried.

Has anyone tried this with a Nintendo switch? Thanks

I can't see a reason why your laptop wouldn't do 4K 60Hz over a USB-C to DP cable so... yeah, dodgy adapter maybe? Higher than 1080p requires either thick or short cables to work properly.

Looks like it's not available anymore

It's a Chinese laptop "Cube thinker i35". I have tried a USB C to DP but it didnt work, but I thought it must have just been the adaptor.

Check on the envelope it arrived in - it says "Responsible delivery - CO2 Neutral" !!!

Mine was delivered from a massive van this morning, looked so stupid with such a little parcel.

This is how mine were delivered :o . Ordered just 2 before anyone has a go.

Email said mine would be delivered by Samuel between 9.56 and 10.06, so was spot on. Both packages were the bubble wrap envelope type, one flat enough to go through a letter box the other folded over on itself. Didn’t have to sign for either, Samuel just asked for my name.

I have just had a text saying mine will be delivered between 14.06 and 15.06 today by DPD. It makes me wonder whether they are doing some kind of test on DPD to check on deliveries because they can't be making any money on these items.
