Apparently the battery life is astounding, it runs about 2 hours according to reviews.
Excellent review. How's the battery life? Any advantages with this over a cheap glass vaping pipe?
Finally something I feel I can comment on! Sad that this is cold as it is a great bit of kit if you know what it does. As people have mentioned, this is not an e-liquid vaporiser, it is for vaporising solid herbs (e.g. tobacco, or more likely the other one that for reasons unknown is still illegal). I have this exact model and it is a really good entry into the world of vaping herb. For this price, your standard solids vaporiser would come with a filament-heated chamber that runs the risk of severely burning (to combustion) the herb. The Flowermate uses a ceramic crucible to create more of an oven effect, to ensure you heat your herb to a consistent temperature, don't expose it to direct heat, and therefore don't burn it. It has three different heat settings, the lowest of which can be very interesting as it is potentially below the boiling point of some THC compounds, meaning you can vaporise to get more of the other active ingredients without the one that gives you that slow, dulling, couch-locking high. It definitely gives you a different feeling to smoking a joint with tobacco, being (in my opinion) more intense, with a slightly slower onset and a much headier feeling. Of course your mileage may vary depending on your supply of herb. Well worth trying if you still want the high, but wish to give up tobacco. Practically speaking it will require some maintenance. The working parts tend to get a bit gummed up with residue. The mouthpiece is removable, deconstructable and washable, but the crucible itself isn't, and the Flowermate uses quite small metal gauze pieces in the crubile that may need to be replaced, although I believe they are available quite cheaply. Mine also came with a set of tools, including a small brush, to help with the maintenance. In terms of the draw, it doesn't function like a liquid vape. You have pre-heat the oven, and there are lights and indicators to tell you when things are up to temperature, then you can inhale away for as long as you're happy and there is a button command to turn the heat off. The different temperature settings are easily regulated by button presses, and indicated by LED colours - so there's no worries about not knowing what temp you're at or when it's ready. One thing I will warn anyone switching from baccy joints is this is going to tickle your lungs if you take it lightly. Even more than pure weed joints, this thing gave me the coughs as I got used to it, and even sometimes after, if I took too big a hit. Other solid vaporisers will give you a much better ability to cool down the vapour and go at your own pace, but they're also significantly more expensive, even with this at full price! As far as economy goes, at the height of my use I was using about 1-3 joints worth of herb per-day in it, which was significantly less than the 4-6 joints I was smoking of an evening! I found it to be great value for money in that regard and there are also many resources available on the internet of what to do with your ABV (already-been-vaped) product as the vaporising process does not use all of the cannabinoid/cannabinol compounds but, unlike smoking which burns it into the atmosphere, vaping leaves the remainder left behind. Many people use it in baking to make some low-grade, but still functional, edibles. Since everyone else seems to be arguing the fashion/merits of vaping or moralising weed use, if anyone wants to know more feel free to leave me any questions. I have cut back significantly since I bought this product (not the products fault, I was using weed more medicinally to help me through tough times) but I still used it enough and would be happy to help anyone thinking of taking the plunge.
This is a deal for a "herb" vapouriser, nothing to do with nicotine vaping.
Been vaping and smoke free for 6 months now. Spend about £15 per week on juice as i use a dripper and use premade coils that cost pennies and last weeks. Was spending nearly £10 per day on tabs. Vaping is an easy option to kick the tabs.
