I didn't like it. Feels too cheap inside for my liking.

Anyone got any experience of the New Nissan Leafs currently around £220pm one month down 48 months no maintenance with nationwide vehicle contracts . I’m going to have to try one first as it might be to far of a step from the 7 series . Could always sell and Bank the money . Not sure size wise of to small . Going to try and get one for 48 hour test drive .

steve2004

Hardly old at 3 years and just clocked up 60k miles. Out of warranty. Leave well alone. Glad you enjoyed yours but I'd never ever buy one with my own money.

that's a good deal, worth posting as a deal on it's own.

I've decided to go for those, after looking around Auto Trader for a couple of weeks this just seems perfect. Shame they confirmed you can't pay the residual value afterwards :(

Ouzoherb

That would be far to sensible particularly as with such low mileage you could probably keep the same car for 15 years with very little repairs. The savings doing this are about £1000 a year overall. I can understand people with loads of money liking a new car every 3 years but they arnt looking at a corsa.

Jack_watdog

Holy cow. Imagine not knowing there’s 52 weeks in a year

Jack_watdog

Your math is a bit off there

Cremoso99

That sounds like it would be OK in the city but struggle on the motorway.

I've driven manual for years but was forced into a DSG when VW started removing the manual option on their higher powered cars for easier WLTP compliance. Would prefer the manual box. DSG can never know what you want it to do more than 90% of the time.

Did you get this deal?

Automatic? In a car of this class? You will be pressed to find an auto in something this size.

Milki_bar_Kid

If you drive in traffic a lot then it has to be an automatic. Especially modern cars that can virtually drive in traffic for you!

Hello Basically with leasing you are trying to beat the depreciation of a new car and selling it on in two years. The general rule is add all the costs (amortised) together and then divide by the value of the car * 100. Less than 25% is good. Less than 20% is excellent. If you think most cars lose 20% of the value in one year. So the closest to 2 years lease, 10k miles per year the better. Most of the time it's better to pay for less miles and pay the excess mileage charges. I have attached my BMW quote to give an example. BMW 840i Gran Coupe 282 * 23 = 6,486 Initial Rental £3288 Admin Fee £150 5K miles a year £9024 + £950 = £9974 £9974 / £69340 * 100 = 14.3842% So i am paying 14% of the cars value over two years I would suggest GAP insurance as well, especially if you have a high initial rental. Initial rental is normally 3,6,9 or 12 months upfront. With the Golf R I paid £1700 upfront the first month. Because I had gap insurance, they paid me that back after it was stolen / written off. That’s an extra called initial rental cover. Best coverage is ALA insurance, use MSE25 code at checkout to get 25% off. Use the link below though. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/896efb84 I only use two sources to find deals. I have an alert for the word lease on HUKD Hot UK Deals app. Other source is Pistonheads forum, they usually post deals and then the % so you don’t have to work it out yourself. I have pasted a link to page 212, which is the current latest. Page change be changed at the bottom of the screen. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=255&t=1882391&i=50004220 Hope that makes sense. With leasing you have to be flexible with car choice. Good deals happen because a manufacturer wants to push out a particular car or outgoing model due for a refresh

It took me a year to get one fitted by octopus! Good luck.

monkeyhanger75

If you can't charge at home on a cheap rate and don't live in Scotland (free EV chargers out and about), filling up at 40+ p per kWh is comparable with the cost of filling up a 55mpg diesel. Not ideal if you're overpaying for the EV in the first place

monkeyhanger75

Octopus is giving me the runaround to get a smart meter to get on the Octopus GO tariff. Friendly call centre staff but ultimately useless at getting their contracted meter fitters "SMS" to book me an appointment because the automated appointment booking system has been bust for weeks.

My wife had to go and pass in an automatic car didn't she (lol) She also needs a self parking car as she doesn't know her left from her right when parking (:I

Raseo7

I got the auto but for the 1.2 [130] version with maintenance for 24 months on 10k per annum for £245 per month. Not sure if it's great deal but so hard finding a good deal for auto cars

fossman

I always used to buy brand new cars and part exchange them after 3 years, I never got back more than 50% of the original purchase price. One other option is to buy your lease car at the end of the agreement, I was given a price of £12k to buy my Skoda Octavia at the end of the 2 year lease. If you add the cost of the lease (24 x £160 = £3,840) the car would have cost me £16k in total (original purchase price would have been £20k).

I think I disagree look back to when the first Zoe and leaf EV were listed on here you could get them for 2.2k per year. This is over 3k per year, I think demand has gone up which is pushing the costs up, I appreciate the technology is better now and range is better but battery's are cheaper to produce now. 2.5k per year is my bite point as you can get a v basic ice car for 2k per year so an extra 500 bones per year is worth for an EV in my book.

davieg1

Well done lol, I liked that comeback, made me laugh XD

Jonsmyname

At 9p a mile, assuming you cover an Extra 20k miles to = additional £1800. But, you then have the option to be in positive equity as the car is likely to be worth more than 12.5k. Hence why this is an average standard deal.

teh.arn

Again, based on 5k mileage over 4 years. Very easy to find cheap deals on cars if you don't drive them anywhere.......
