£144 Quidco for me on this via Quidco Compare.

the problem with virgin is the 4x a year price increases and 1 hour plus to cancel

With you there!!! love the fast internet but literally some of the worst customer service I (and probably most) have ever had so just be careful with that if you have any issues. Otherwise enjoy the good deal

Cancel and if no one calls, call them and say you had a missed call and you think it was from retention team.

Do you think the retentions team would call if you join virgin as a new customer then try to cancel within your cooling off period claiming it's too expensive for what it is ?

Great deal. Managed to get direct flights from Manchester into Vegas and then return from San Fran to Manchester (via JFK) for £1,300 for a family of 5 in August summer holiday and with luggage.

Booked earlier this evening.... Return fort lauderdale from Heathrow in early August, £1025 for 4 people - didn't expect that! Including 23kg each too through netflights

Hmm, considering CLT in May/June for £270. Seems a sweet deal to me. Heat.

lol. Google it?

This is the second one you have stated refuel that doesn't are you obsessed? It most certainly doesnt refuel in LAX virgin do not fly the 747 to LAX and why would they fly an hour passed vegas to refuel

Seriously have you actually looked to see what the dimensions of the hand luggage are. You'd have to be hopeless not to manage it. Many people fly for a week's business , it's the once a year traveller who can't get their heads around it.

Its no wonder they have to stop at LAX for refuelling (excited) (lol)

I use the VA flight a lot to Vegas from Gatwick..... Defo don't go east! lol , and it don't stop anywhere either! Its direct, with our average flight going out to be around 10hrs 20, and last week the flight coming back, we did in just over 9hrs....... £280 return with handbag on the date listed, or £340 with suitcase.... I've done hand luggage before, but means buying all toiletries in CVS which aint cheap!!! Good find, Heat added... Although, between Nov to Feb, those flight prices sound about right anyway (max £400)

Virgin much faster then my EE max sim, getting 70mbps on virgin, EE 20mbps

I'm getting refund on the contract for the number of days I cannot use 4g. They said they are fixing the 'issue' and should be working as it should next week. I'll see how it goes but I can leave to another provider when a deal comes

Why didn't you pickup a three payandgo topup £15 speedtest the hell out of it and make your decision. I have to agree three is cheap in Manchester,London and Liverpool city centres is slow. You better get on the phone to three tomorrow use your 14 days cooling period and cancel that contract hope you ordered online not instore.

Tigger happy. Left Virgin 45gb £18 simo for Three 100gb simo £18. Worst decision ever! Wife decided to stick with Virgin and gets 20-50mbps easily whilst on having to use 3g to achieve 6mbps (if I'm lucky. '4g' speeds are between 0.5mbps-4mbps and sometimes I cannot even load Google!! Same phones? Makes no sense that the signal would be weaker, I could understand that EE has a higher data priority but how could the signal levels be managed like that to make it weaker?

£17 off with topcashback !

Afraid not. I’m on EE, she’s on Virgin. My signal in the same place is fine.

So if my improved signal is concidence ('logically'), surely that means your wifes loss of signal is coincidence too, right? (cheeky) If they throttled the bandwidth, fair enough, but they cant "strangle" signal... baited.

yes, and I think I pay half for the same as a 'loyal' customer

Just click speed test button in the speed test app. Nothing what to do. If it never works on 4g on your phone then I guess the network settings aren't ok on your phone for that network's SIM

BT is the same as EE essential plan at there double speed option but nowhere near the level of EE max.

The last time I had a contact was for the iPhone 4!!! If people are taking out 36 month contacts how many versions of iPhone will they be behind when they finally finish their contact, 3, 4 or even 5 who knows.

I’ll be honest I completely agree with you, but this beats most other contracts at the minute. Can’t remember the last time I had a phone on contract, £10 a month for sim only is too much of a draw for me

Apple fanboy here but you must be mad to pay them prices. I waited last year and got a great deal from Very which I still haven’t paid for yet. Lol

Well of course. It's up to the networks how they recoup the cost of the phone. Shorter contact = higher upfront fee or monthly fee, Longer contract = lower upfront fee or monthly fee. Apple only sells the phones to the networks. They don't tell the networks how to sell the phone to the customer.

The main thing I get from this is that it’s the Android fans who spend their time thinking about iPhones (lol)

I know, I can't get my head around it. I've got 2 days until I'm cancelled so I'm thinking of ringing for one more attempt and then just putting my tail between my legs and accepting the offer. :( ;(

That is disappointing - particularly when you read examples from what others have achieved. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to what people are offered - long term customers can get poor offers and those in their first year can get a cracking retention deal (and vice-versa).

I did wait and received the call and they would move no further.

Got a phone call yesterday from retentions, offered me 200mb at £27pm and a £50 credit. Also wrote my last bill off. Happy with the offer so accepted.

Been offered 350mb for £35. Said I'd think about it. Reckon they'd come back with better? Seems good to me, was paying £48 as a new customer so couldn't get it much cheaper. Don't need TV or phone line etc so happy with broadband only

Nope I'm on 100service with 3 xbox 1s and 5 phones and one pc all works really well not had a moan out of the kids in over a year. Had to piggy back a second router so that the WiFi would work upstairs .

Joined virgin been about a week on 200mb package and can only pick up 40-50mbps regardless of time of day. Waiting for engineer to arrive and fix this mess

Upload speed is awful on the 100Mb deal, 6.5Mb/s, it beats ADSL2 but seriously it's real fibre you should get 100Mb up and down...

That’s simply not true/accurate as an all encompassing statement. It might be the case for you, but I get a constant 210Mbps on my 200Mbps service.

yeah, tell that to Amex, and the 6 month battle after Travel Trolley pulled out faked documentation to prove their case. Nothing is clear cut mate, all i'm saying is, there is always a risk, but less so when you go with someone more reputable. I wont make that mistake again. Personal choice though.

If you pay by credit card there is no risk.

I suppose everywhere is like that until you get stiffed for 2 x £ 460 flights. Just passing on my advice though. As long as you think the risk is worth it then fair do's.

Not just that but March is hectic in Vegas, huge conferences, college basketball, St Patricks Day and Spring Break result in extortionate hotel prices

Maybe they're very popular! Most peeps just buy air fares! If you get your ticket & travel with no hassle. What's there not to like! (y)

Received my £50 cashback today from Quidco, why does it show £45 instead of £50?

I would guess yes but not sure....example if i tether my phone it take a a good 5 seconds to's never bothered me when I've had to use it but then it's not been every day.

thanks! My use is much more web surfing than actual downloading, so tethering isn't going to work for me long term if it's so slow to load up pages. Will have to return to cable broadband earlier than expected. Out of interest, would plugging the phone instead into a suitable router with USB input mean the same ping/lag on my laptop? I guess yes..but just checking

The ping/lag between requesting a page and it loading is probably around 25 times slower than virgin that's normal for a mobile connection....or iat least on my experience..........try actually down loading I always find the speeds fine.

Disappointed with the performance when tethering my phone to laptop (windows 10). Speedtest shows around 65 Mbps on my Moto E (2nd gen) phone and when tethered to my laptop, it drops to anything from 15 Mbps to 60 Mbps (averaging around 35Mbps it seems). That's not in itself an issue, as maybe it's normal for a tethered connection to be slower than the phone? However, the webpage loading time (chrome) is usually several seconds, which is in stark contrast to my previous 50Mbps Virgin cable broadband service, where webpages loaded almost instantaneously, that's using the same laptop with ethernet or wireless adapter. The point I'm making here is that the 15Mbps difference between the current (USB tethered) 35Mbps and previous (broadband) 50Mbps doesn't seem to account for the steep increase in webpage loading time. Is this just a normal factor of tethering or is there any way I can improve performance? BTW, the network adapter windows utilises is a Remote NDIS using a dynamic IP. Maybe that can be tweaked to static IP? Thanks

Read an article recently about the airline sites that seem to track you via cookies and push the price up each time you visit. The article tested with a second, separate PC and found cheaper prices. It can be worth clearing cookies from the last hour, or using a different browser when you come to make the booking to avoid this. However, your post sounds more like the main site getting a list of all prices every so often and it not updating that price list when you went through booking and the site rechecked the specific current price for you.

About a month back I found return half term flights from LHR to LAX for 4 for £1500. I went though the checkout, entered my card details and then it said the price has increased by £1000. Came out of the screen and tried again, price still said £1500, went though checkout and again the message that the price had increased by £1000. I didn't book but twice I entered my details and payment details. It's not always the price it says on the screen with VA.

No, it’s first class for 350 quid. Jeez

Says the guy posting deals on Richmond sausages talking about how they can be microwaved. LOL

If you are going to copy and paste a "deal" from another site (SecretFlying) I think it's only fair to give them a link/credit? Also, Skyscanner is just a comparison site so the deal is not "from Skyscanner" it's from whatever OTA is listed in the Skyscanner search results (and many of these have awful reviews on Tripadvisor etc). In most cases you are better off booking direct with the airline rather than some third party you have never heard of and for longhaul if you use complete savings cashback you can get 10% cashback on many airlines including Virgin, which means the price works out similar to or cheaper than the OTA's anyway.
