IAmATeaf

I rang up yesterday to find out if there were any deals and the lady offered me 6gb for £7 a month as I am also a broadband customer. So if going for this and you have other virgin services worth asking, might save you £2 a month.

stealth666

They're all at it... say a deal price but never stick to it... never anything in writing most of the time....

h12006

Thanks for the tip, called up Plus Net and they couldn't price match but upgraded my £10pm deal to 8gb with unlimited calls and texts (y)

I also went from EE to Virgin mobile. The reviews may be poor but personally I've had no issues with Virgin mobile.

1. Go to virginexperiencedays.co.uk/VEDpartners 2. Click 'Reveal Code' to generate a 20% code to use at checkout.
CrispyColonel

It’s due to HUKD using affiliate links to make money from click-throughs. Make sure the tracking details at the end of the URL are removed (so keep JUST the original VEDpartners) and it’ll work

chacd

I don't believe so, I can still generate voucher codes from the link. Perhaps clear your cookies and copy and paste the link from the description?

vee99

Has this expired? I keep getting an error message like Shiftyraccoon

chacd

You sure the url is https://www.virginexperiencedays.co.uk/VEDpartners in your browser? That error message usually occurs if there's some affiliate link attached to the end of the url

Is the plan for virgin broadband only customers?

eraldo

Very much depends on location and how many people are in your area using the same cell tower. In the middle of the night iv done a speed test and hit 70mps and iv done a speed test in the middle of the day and got 3mbps inside my house which is really crap for signal tho. 3g on virgin has 98% national coverage but isnt as fast as threes 3g but it has 99% coverage for 4g which is much much faster than three. A little off topic but doesnt anyone have the unlimited plan with the purple sim? im curious how far i can push my data use, they claim no limits at all but theres no way thats sustainable. I heard someone hit 400gb on the old white sims before they got throttled.

Jianni2312

They somehow got the best customer service award though

geb

Not true! I've only ever had a mobile with Virgin and have NEVER had a problem with customer service being unable to speak English. Yes customer services arent based in the UK but anyone I've ever spoken to is polite and speaks English perfectly and has always been able to help me.

Thanks for the tip. The Kidz Camp does look like better value, but it seems to be midweek during school time which isn't going to work for me.

MDT

For kids book the kids camp (I think that's what it is called)? Works out at 5 flights for £30 and the experience seems to last longer as they are in a group with other kids. I booked for the 1st March, so can't say if it good value, but this seemed slightly better for 6-16's (again going from memory). For 2 person bookings always compare BuyaGift and Groupon as they usually have discount codes (15-25%) off all their deals. Not always cheaper but always worth checking first. Voted hot as I've already booked the above and can't be arsed checking if it's cheaper elsewhere! (skeptical)

gungho_trucker

I was looking at doing it for my Son's birthday. If you go to the iFly website you can book the "iFLY Kick-Start for 2" for £53.99, so on the surface of things this deal seems to be their standard "off peak" offer price. It shoots up to over £100 if you want to visit at a reasonable hour on a weekend or during school holidays though (when you can't use this Virgin offer either).

SuperJetSetWilly

It's expensive for what it is, & you can usually get tickets for around the £20 mark via Groupon or Wowcher.

https://www.businesstraveller.com/airlines/virgin-atlantic/2018/06/27/virgin-atlantic-to-end-dubai-to-london-heathrow-flights/ That's the article confirming it, 31st March is the last day. Looks like with Delta in charge of the purse strings, the route is no longer viable...

osrick

Are they indeed? It'll be the 330 then rather than the 789.

Politics aside, just remember that in 2019 Virgin are stopping their Dubai route, so expect a dated plane which hasn't had the latest refit or entertainment system

Dubai is a good example on how to spend trillions of dollars building a city that is completely soulless. The only thing that seems to exist there is a culture of fear.

Just been offered this exact deal by retentions department less than half an hour ago. The V6 box is amazing by the way.

bellboys

Agreed but the V6 box you get with this is a big draw given its specs. I'm on the VIP bundle on a new customer offer at the moment (89 quid a month but lots of cash sweeteners) and get exactly the same box, albeit 2 of them.

sikiliza69

An effective £24 monthly cost for 50Mb is not cheapest weve seen , but definitely one of the cheapest at the moment within the 50Mb range.

bellboys

Sort of but the set up fee adds 2 quid a month to that..

adamderak

So if chose the £50 Credit , then the £40 from Quidco would bring effectively £90 credit. Making the monthly over the 12 months contract to £22.
