Just replaced my budget Wahl clippers after a couple of years, it did its job well enough but an electrical item with that much plastic, electronics and metal thrown at should not be that disposable if we're all being honest. This will do a job if you shave all your hair off but the lack of adjustment handle will make any normal haircut look like a set of stairs. As always with clippers, the little bit more you pay upfront will be well worth it in the long run.
Sadly the modern versions are cheap rubbish. Get a Panasonic instead.
have it and it doesn't cut very well. You gets what you pays for.
They do though, the Pro ranges are fine, had my Super Taper clippers probably 15 years or so now, they are still available now for less than 50 quid, since the over inflated prices of early lockdown are gone now, and they will pay for themselves in about 5 cuts without pulling a single tuft of hair!
my husband used to use nail scissors to cut his nose hair but that can be pretty dangerous, lol. you would need to have a very steady hand as he did it himself looking at the mirror. he is very happy with the panasonic one that I got from amazon and it was incredibly cheap. i don't think he has even changed the battery on it and he has had it now for several months so the battery lasts quite a long time. although i don't know how regularly he uses the device.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I've been getting really long hairs in my nose for a while now. Pulling them out manually doesn't work very well and hurts quite a bit. Looking forward to trying the Panasonic.
Just bought boots own brand £6.99 very good indeed comes with battery
That's the best one out of the lot, I have had mine for over a year now, & it's still on the same battery that came with it, so the new model should be good to go
It’s too noisy and if noise doesn’t bother you then it’s worth the price.
I’ll have a short back and sides please. This isn’t the barbers 💈 lol (lol)
Do t say if rechargeable or battery operated
Good price, but quality wise it’s poor. Toothbrush doesn’t hold up and had to be binned after 1 use. trimmer is loud and not great. Nose trimmer is ok, as are the other items. Heat for price but just wanted to make people aware that 60% of the items are not very good.
Yep, suckered into these a few months ago on this site with everyone saying how amazing they are. They're not! I mean they do a job but mine went rusty after a few weeks. They get really, really hot, despite lubricating the blades, and the on-off switch has a mind of its own... Crap
I'd strongly advise people to spend little bit more and get something decent. I wish I had.
Got these from Sainsbury's last week £12.99 do a good on my hair, even if I say so myself.
These can regularly be had for this price, that being said they do a decent job and there's nothing at this price that can match them. heat added
These are a joke! Good for cutting one strand of hair at a time, any more than that and good luck... Get the Wahl Legend series, well worth the money!!!!
Yup - if you haven't learnt to cut your own hair during the pandemic then I don't know what you've been wasting time on. The cost is never an issue with a haircut; it's all the time that's involved. I bought a Babyliss XTP Super Clipper and have never gone back to the barbers. You need cordless (so you can stand in the bath or outside to do it ) and a lever (so you can get the 1/2 grades in between the guard sizes).
Exactly, the barbers are minting it with those cash only sales. I’m cutting my own now.
Which ones are those? I hear they all nick you.
Once you buy a professional grade clippers you’ll never want to touch these again. I used to spend £15 locally, now I got a Wahl magic clippers for £80 (same one Barbers use).
Will these be any good for beard detailing or anyone have a recommendation for such use

To anyone with thicker hair... Do. Not. Buy. Cordless. Trimmers. Your scalp will thank me later
me too. I've got 5 different ones all boxed. waiting to sell when we go back into full lockdown soon
I thought the same. I have Wahl taper 2000 for professionals and I am using for years and I cannot fault. Anything directly available especially from Argos cannot be professional stuff. Normally their pro ranges are not available directly places like Argos etc.
I'm waiting for these to get back up to £60 like in the good old days of the pandemic
Do these come with a lever to adjust the blade length ?
Yep. Speaking of which I see these Wahl Clippers are in the same sale for only £15. I bought this model at the start of the pandemic for £25 & they've been a godsend; I've used them weekly with not a single snagged hair on my bonce or beard. There are eight length attachments ranging from 3mm to 25mm plus two for left/right ears which I've not used. I may never visit a barbers shop again! :D https://direct.asda.com/george/home/personal-care/wahl-9655-cordless-clipper-kit/050772111,default,pd.html
OOS. Sounds like I dodged a bullet from the comments above 😄
I got one and it's rubbish, battery cover keeps falling off ..the guards are not very robust..2 have broken
Trimmers usually relate to facial hair. Clippers usually are head and body hair
