Any offers on any hiking gortex boots or any recommendations? Thanks

yes i have the boots, and bought 3 pairs of the shoes while they were on offer. so that is me sorted for a while.

Hope they work out for you (y)

I bought some Terrex Free Hiker GTXs couple of months back for a super comfy, lightweight waterproof pair. Due to weather though I havnt really tried them yet. But I think the Terrex are not to be overlooked (y)

Ended up getting some Meindl Meran GTX (R) for £167 from gooutdoors down from £209 ✅

If you want a very good light weight pair for general walking. Look at addidas terrex swift gtx. They do an ankle boot version. Very good

Looking for some hiking boots either gore-tex or DWR shoes Any recommendations? Thanks :D

Neither did I! I asked a similar question not that long ago after getting fed up with hiking brands!

i didnt know that adidas was a good hiking brand lol

Hi-Tec are not bad for the price.

Merrell build quality seems to have gone downhill. The shoes split along the sides fairly quickly. I also have Adidas Terrex and they are great. Just need to make sure you get the right size as they can come up small. Adidas always have discounts.

If looking for goretex shoes, then Adidas terrex swift gtx are excellent. They also have a boot version

Excellent find!

Hi Mate I bought these, arriving Monday! I went for the best condition ones but they have these left in your Size. Seems like a good buy https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meindl-SF-Combat-Goretex-Black-Mountain-Boot-German-Army-Grade-1-/124419625702?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

My standard recommendation for walking boots for people with odd sizes is Altberg. https://www.altberg.co.uk/ Made in yorkshire and certainly go up to a wide 14 Stocked internationally https://www.altberg.co.uk/stockists but you're advised to visit the factory if you're a 'difficult' fit

TK Maxx occasionally get some good ones in. My pair of AKUs were around that price from there and have lasted better than the average pair of shows, although I don't use them for serious walking.

Decathlon are very decent

+1 for Scarpa. Not cheap but very good

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I need to try some on once lockdown is over. Will research some of the suggestions. I just need some for long walks with the dog at the moment through fields etc. But will be using them for other walks after lockdown. I also live near Dartmoor.

Waterproof walking shoes
anyone has any recommendations on some good Waterproof walking shoes. less than £60 please. thanks in advance

Puddle ha

Yes indeed.

Having a size 3 means that you can actually find Youth size shoes which are cheaper than adult, it must come in handy when you can browse both the adult and kids section to find the best deal! (y)

Lol piddle taker (y)

It is a case of the sales though. I get lucky because I am a size three. Never had a problem, but I expect it I had larger feet, I would find it more difficult

Walking/hiking boots recommendations please
Hi looking to get some walking/hiking boots, ive been looking at Merrell Moab 2 but there is so much choice out there. Ideally I would like to keep it under £130 and waterproof to … Read more

Get a pair of Aigle wellies, ideal in wet grass muddy trails, but also very comfortable to wear over a 2-3 hour walk with the dog. may seem expensive but well worth the investment.

I own a pair of Salomon hiking boots, unsure which model but they are GTX ones. I find the fit and comfort to be spot on. I bought these at an outlet store so it might be worth a look when you can go to the shops. At the time, I was looking at decathlon too as they have a big selection of varying budget. They have a very good returns policy too so you could order a few pairs to try on

Mostly walking on flat ground with the dog and around Box Hill, Surrey. So nothing overly strenuous, mostly just want to keep my feet relatively dry and warm in the longer grass.

I paid about £100. But prices are high just now

I was actually just looking at them actually, probably a tad to expensive though.
