(horror) RRP (embarrassed) XD 2 FOR £4 in waitrose, however you could buy 6 boxes from Asda on a comparison shop and get them for an equivalent of £1.80 per box

SILFCFAN

currently £2.25 a box in tescos, but the 2kg bags of this are £5 each or 2 for £8 which works out better value, rrp of £4.99 is totally false.

ytfc_nick

Works out at £1.99 per box. Although a decent price, these boxes are regularly reduced to £2 at the supermarkets and always less than £3, not too sure about the rrp of £4.99.

Apologies, somehow quoted the wrong person's comment, you quoted the comment that referenced Unilever and when replying via mobile (for some reason the formatting is all squiffy) I've grabbed your comment but not the one it was in response to (which didn't seem to show up as a separate quote).

Stevejp

Had many a vet say to me that you never give your dog Dentastix unless it's a rare treat, they are so bad for them and fattening (despite the annoying advertising making it that it should some kind of 'daily health' product). I wouldn't eat a Mars Bar every day, why on earth would you expect your dog too!

Kookykat

I agree too ...I absolutely wouldn't feed my cats on the foods listed. However, they do get Dreamies as a treat & as a reward when playing with them. Dry foods crack off the dental plaques that can build up and cause decay and gum disease. Often the hidden sugars and ingredients in some less pro health foods, especially wet foods, are to blame for dental issues in cats and dogs. If you do convert to dry food feeding it is VITAL to ensure access to plenty of water. The first ingredient in most wet foods is actually water! I second the person who says people look at how expensive a sack of dry food so buy Whiskas etc not realising that it actually works out more expensive per day to feed their pet. I use the bottomless bowl program that petshop.co.uk operate but appreciate that it may be cheaper to source it elsewhere sometimes. At the end of the day it's about what you are happy to feed and prepared to give your pet. For me that is quality dry food. Hope that helps someone :3

Snomaes

I haven't a clue what you're talking about. I never even mentioned Unilever?

MarSet

Thanks for the info. I don't own any dogs atm but I'm planning to get one soon

Milk and Other Dairy Products. What could be wrong with offering your cat a saucer of milk or a piece of cheese? Most cats are lactose-intolerant. Their digestive system cannot process dairy foods, and the result can be digestive upset with diarrhea.

Agreed to all! If you've never had a Savannah or Bengal before - get a lot of advice & information from current / previous owners. No doubt you have probably done this. They are absolutely NOT like having regular cats, and will totally take over your life and house (and, if you let them out, the garden, next door neighbour's house and garden, neighbourhood... haha). That all said, they don't need to be overly expensive to feed - HotUKdeals is proving to be good for finding cat-food and treats deals! Contrary to what a lot of websites and blogs say, finding what they will eat is simply trial and error, and they don't have to be fancy over-priced brands either! Our Bengals are good HotUkdeal devotees like us - i.e. no brand loyalty from us or them! hahaha Have messaged you and added to "follow" rather than chat in these threads. Should have thought about it earlier!

djmackie2000

savannah F1 is one of the tallest pet cats you can own (need a Wild animal License tho), They have treats more like a dog than a cat. E.G can take them walk. play fetch, play in water and so on. if you go down the blood line say to F3,4,5 they have more treats like a domestic cat. and you are correct they similar to Bengals (they have bigger spots) and alot of people mix bread these two together. i have even seen people trying to sell Bengal/savannah breads saying they are 100%savannah because of the cost. both good looking cats. I just have a little black cat that my other half got me as a surprise (she her sis could not keep as her old cat did not like the kitten). i was kinda cheese off as was waiting for a nice savannah to come up for sale. but i am a firm believer in "it is not just for xmass it is for life"

They could have changed the deal, i posted this a while ago. :(

JustExtreme

I only seem to be able to get 5%?

Duelling.Duck

Loads of cats like an almost crop rotation of food - you can feed them really good stuff for a few weeks then they'll get bored and you can switch to super cheap stuff to a while, then they're bored of that... etc.

leedsfan83

vulcanprojectMy cat was a nightmare like that too, adopted an old semi-feral cat who had been homeless for a number of years and when i bought her home, she was turning her nose up at food all the time. Purina Gourmet, IAMS pouches the lot, so I put my foot down and stuck with a brand she would eat occasionally and eventually she got used to it! I felt kinda bad at first, but i was fed up of being a bloody cat servant! :)
