Many thanks c9off - I went ahead and bought one, haven't used it yet, still in box and wondering whether to keep it or return it - think I'll keep it, bound to be a lot easier than using a chamois to get shiny windows. Thanks again for your comments. Mousey!

I bought one to clear condensation over winter, initially thought it a waste of time but have since changed my mind - does a great job on glass tables, oh & windows as well! A quick rub over with a microfibre cloth after vacuum, no streaks, job done. Also WV2 without cleaning bottle jobbie £24.99, don't use mine.. 6% TCB or Quidco..

£35 for second hand ain’t a great price Paid £22 on amazon for the double blade pack and squirter about 2 years ago

Does this do away with a window cleaner? Or are the results not the same?

Dell - Visor Virtual Reality Headset and Controllers Windows Mixed Reality £249.99 Amazon sold by Silicon Connect Ltd.
Found 23 h, 36 m agoFound 23 h, 36 m ago
One of the better reviewed windows MR headsets. Comes brand new sealed, cheapest price I've seen in the UK.

Showing as £370 now; £299 at which is still fairly good.

More trivial griping in this thread than a nursery full of hungry toddlers.

I have the rift and the psvr, but the screen door and the God rays are just awful on the rift, made even worse because the psvr has no glare issues and the sde is almost gone, so i have been looking to move away from the rift and it's issues which for me personally after a year are killing the system, so i may look into this headset, but i need to know that at min there are no glare issues, this one thing just kills vr for me on the rift. Thanks for the info. (y)

I completely agree with you. Windows MR headsets show that VR can be affordable and enjoyable.

Hi sorry about the delay in replying, I find that screen door effect is lesser due to the higher resolution screens used. I wear glasses and find that once adjusted the dell is more comfortable and has less light bleed/glare. I don't notice much difference between the brightness of this and the rift but the colours were slightly better with the oculus. Due to the lower system requirements I found the Dell slightly smoother to use but the controllers aren't as good as the rifts as they tended to drop signals every once in a while. Not a deal breaker by any means as the only reason the rift is more reliable is due to my 3 sensor setup. In summary if you want to get into vr I would recommend the dell visor over the Acer and Lenovo (bit closer though), and the rift. The rift may be a more polished experience but if you factor in an extra sensor you're looking at around £200 more than this for a very very similar experience and it just isn't justified. If you're on the fence and want a simple yet extremely capable introduction to vr for the money it can't be touched, get the visor.

I have this machine with SSD and it is rapid for the light use I require it for. From start-up to having Chrome up and ready to go is 20 secs. I'm not sure what its like with the listed HDD but it may be worth finding one with SSD for rapid speed. Its definitely worth it.

So the one posted before with the 120 ssd is better?

Not another one of these...sigh! HUKDeals should ban these threads unless reasonably priced. At 49.99 this is not a genuine copy and you may as well just download it off the internet as pirated software. Even if you don't want the hassle of that, there's been copies on here much cheaper than this,

They pay me, sent me on holiday and bought me a car!

Not retail copy, this is a VL key like the rest.

If this is a genuine retail copy then the price is excellent. The cheap oem will activate your pc but most people using them are technically in breach, not that Microsoft care if you are a home user

100% correct, however, that particular legal route, will soon start to become harder, the more original legit keys are used from older versions, so if you can find one better to do it sooner, than later, plus like the last 3 backdoors, MS may come up with a way to stop it anyway! (worldcup) You can also buy this direct on the Amazon FBA's own website for... £30 less if you fancy a go, the company selling them is:

Can these connect to 5g networks?? Have another linx tablet and it can't which makes it rubbish for streaming games via steam.

An iPad is literally 4-5 times the price of this. Not really a realistic comparison point, though if you want good app support then an iPad is a decent option (if you can afford one) - for the same money as this tablet you are looking at an iPad 2, a 6-year old tablet, which only goes up to iOS 9 and has just 512MB RAM. For £60, some people are definitely expecting too much. You get a physical controller and a proper tablet for that money, it will be fine for older emulation and touch controls (on iPad or Android) are terrible for accuracy.

YES! YES! YES! Anything upuntil the 16 bit era without an issue. I have one with retroarch installed with a launchbox bigbox front end. Running final burn alpha, SNES, megadrive etc. All the neo Geo games run, cps3 not an issue. Just don't bother with PSone gen or later. I'm not a fan of the controller, I actually pair PS4 dualshocks with it and use it as a portable retro machine. It'll also run indie Steam games like hyper light drifter, mercenary kings etc. Lol it even runs Skyrim. I love this machine, just got to use it for what it's good at.

I really looked forward to this on release and sold my brilliant Linx 8 tablet in preparation. It was horrible - the tablet itself was chunky and sharp edges, not refined like the normal Linx 8. And the controller handles feel as awkward as they look. My Linx died after less than a week (stopped charging). I was glad to be rid of it, and get my money back.

A Google search suggests it didn't used to according to some, but it looks like it's been added. I'm Just wondering if you have a source to go off before I buy it. I already have the game on os4 but I'd quite like mod support :)

Apologies, I stand corrected. I was utterly convinced the Windows Store version did not support modding :S

Where are you reading that? If the windows store description says modding support it might have changed recently.

It’s worse on a 5.5” mobile phone. This isn’t my daily machine, I don’t understand why someone having a use for this type of computer is really difficult :/ . It certainly isn’t for everyone.

Excel is terrible on a 1366x768 / 11.6" laptop which this is.....

There was a Swift 1 at £130 but I figured it had gone out of stock anyway. I don’t want another cheap machine. Emails with Excel and Word, I should have been more specific - and both those apps are **** on tablets, it’s fine on a proper x86 laptop.

Just search for the deal for the Swift 1 refurb - posted about a week ago. All gone now as people snapped them all up in an instant. And if you just want to send the odd email, you would have been better off buying a bluetooth keyboard to leave in the car and saving £100....

Slow and the APU runs really hot despite seemingly doing very little. AMD has never been good at laptop chips since after Athlon 64 and back then it’s only competitor was Pentium 4 (excited) . Even that new Ryzen Mobile isn’t meant to be that well optimised.

You whole point is to take offence on behalf of someone who gave me a like for my comment. I wrote, "This is an ignorant statement." I did not not call others ignorant. You are a liar because you said, "My whole point was that you should be less combative and quick to call others ignorant." I did not use the first person. As an analogy: "This is a long statement." This does not mean that I said the person is long. A dictionary definition of this "ignorant" as an adjective for the noun "statement" is: lacking knowledge. The statement was ignorant because it lacked knowledge (W/Hr and duration). I dislike your malice intensively and moreover, I dislike your allegation that I was combative, your statement is better used to describe yourself in having a go at me unfairly in the first place, especially the tone of you referencing that £900 laptop.

My whole point was that you should be less combative and quick to call others ignorant. The link was merely a demonstration of laptops with similar specifications but a better battery life; ensuring that people know it is possible, since your comment implied it may not be. The lack of research regarding the battery life of the laptop I linked was due both to the fact that it was obviously far better than the battery of the laptop in the OP (even if 10hrs is generous) and because I was short on time. Thanks for filling in that blank for me -- potential buyers should always read trustworthy reviews before making a purchase as large as this. While I was not endorsing the HP laptop, I'm glad anyone interested now has one suggestion of a review to help keep them informed.

It would be terrible if you misled buyers here into thinking your recommended PC has an average battery life of 10 hours. It is an i7 quad core CPU running at TDP Down: 10 W Up: 25 W Typical TDP: 15 W . Can you point us some reviewers' test results to backup your statement of "an average battery life of 10 hours? I know that 10hrs is stated on the Amazon UK web site, but few would be so ignorant as to use this figure and rely it without some verification. If battery life is your goal, I think it is foolish to spend £900 on a longer battery life, according to the reviewer for this review it says about 7hr (not 10 hr average) In my opinion, 7hr is very good, but £900 for a bigger battery as an aim, no thanks.

It is terrible battery life in the context of all laptops though. Moreover, nobody on the thread had mentioned the battery life before sazal so contrary to being an ignorant statement, it was actually a very useful highlight of a potential drawback of this machine that less experienced users may not have noticed. Stop trying to discredit another user's valid criticism. And this may blow your mind, but: i7-8550u, 15.6" 4K IPS screen, 2 in 1 with an average battery life of 10 hours.

Total War is an RTS I assume? Generally speaking, you should always opt for the better GPU if you're using a laptop for gaming, but an RTS is sometimes the exception as they rely on the CPU more. That said, I'd still go with the 1060. I can't imagine it'd have any problem running the game mentioned and it'll run pretty much anything else you need on decent settings

Any good ?

Please do, I'm considering it for gaming
