Starting today, all GOG GALAXY users can claim a FREE GOG copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut

I think this is to tie in with the new series - due in December!

Ah thanks! I didn't realise it as it pop up on my account today.

Lovely game, but you will fight. Oh yes, you will fight. Mostly against the beasties, but mainly against the sluggish controls.

The starting today is December 2020 and I think it's been free entirely since then and mentioned a good few times here. However still there is heat for a free game

Download or update your GOG GALAXY application. Go to the "Recent" view and check the banner at the top. Click the giveaway button if you agree to receive news, updates, and GOG offers. After a while, the game will show up in your games library inside the application and in your GOG.COM collection.

*Surprised that upon a HUKD search, I couldn't find this deal posted. You'll find the details below.* Starting on 4 Dec 20, all GOG GALAXY users can claim a FREE GOG copy of The W… Read more

I searched for deals, none came up. So I submitted, and it was changed to a 'discussion' by a moderator. (y)

Nothing is ever free. They’ll give you a copy of the game for a zero monetary transaction, but read the small print: “In return, you shall relinquish all possessions, and women.”

Check if you can get (PS4) Witcher 3 Expansion Pass for free.
I only own the digital version of the base game and this was free when I searched the PSN store.

£19.99 for me

Never miss a 'The Witcher' deal again!

FREE Next Gen Upgrade for the Witcher III if you already own it on PC, Xbox or PS4
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the next generation! Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range… Read more

Physical included? I have the standard version (which is surprisingly quite rare to find but goes for like £15 on eBay) and the GotY editions both physical. Would be awesome if I can upgrade both to PS5 versions, although I suspect I might end up buying the physical PS5 version anyways (embarrassed)

The Witcher series was doing Enhanced Editions before Skyrim released for the first time.

Hopefully this is the start of a trend. Witcher wasn’t my cup of tea but good to see what they are doing the upgrade free

Thanks. So I use geforce now so that will be interesting to see how that gets upscaled, particularly if they add 4k support by the end of the year!

The Witcher 3 is the greatest video ever made! Change my mind
I’ve been playing The Witcher 3 for the past three weeks and absolutely love it; the story, the voice acting and the graphics, as pictured below. I still can’t see how they fit it … Read more

I tried it, it was just annoying and everything felt awkward so I gave up, but then I generally hate RPGs so I wouldn't listen to me. Doom 2 is probably the best game ever, I probably play it through at least once a year and it never gets old. Proof that gameplay is the most important factor, not graphics.

I think with 100+ hour RPGs they can be pretty daunting to many of us who have jobs, kids, other hobbies etc, I find I play more short to medium length games these days, also quick pick up and play games like Rocket League, Fall Guys and Trials where time is important. Also I could be wrong on this but The Witcher to me screams "fantasy world" which is not my cuppa tea, and while all games are fantasy I like ones which are based more in reality

Still haven't completed it yet after 3 years of ownership

I couldn't get into this when I first played it. I didn't like how the combat felt at the time and the tutorials which keep popping up are frustrating. I put it on last week to try it again but ended up switching it off after 5 minutes and ended up watching The Witcher on Netflix. Because I had watched that I was craving more of the story so I then tried the game again. I selected the easiest difficulty and once I was past the majority of the tutorials and killed the griffin(?) I started to enjoy it. I am enjoying the story but I found the likes of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to be more enjoyable than this.

I was the same. Had the game for a year and tried a few times to get in to it, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Some of the story lines would be a game by it's self. If you're in to these kind of games I'd highly recommeded it.
