My problem with Xenoblade was I got so frustrated with the waypoint system that I was concerned I'd smash my Switch off the ground in a fit of rage so we needed some time apart (lol) Loved it other than that though.

sandueugen92

Same here. Still need to finish the base game. This is what's great about JRPGs; they are long but they are packed with content and meaningful progression. My problem is that I get distracted from the 100 hours of Xenoblade and finish 1-2 shorter games in between.

sandueugen92

I was going to buy it later, anyway. Don't worry :D

Skerry

I have the original game on cart so presume all good to play Torna with this. Having to have cart in doesn't bother me. I don't know how they managed to make this Torna vs Season Pass dlc so confusing. Just noticed in the US store you can buy the expansion pass and below it says you need base game to play, but they also sell Torna as a standalone purchase and says nothing about requiring base game. Weird Hear btw OP, been looking for this for a while. About halfway through main game but we needed some time apart a good while back but have been thinking of getting back into it the last few weeks.

jco83

I hope you didn't buy it because of my original comment ! :S (popcorn)

Why expired? It’s still working. Plus Diablo is back!!

ma11wi11

So few tips. You need to make sure all items are the ones sold direct by amazon - not just fulfilled by amazon. You use your normal amazon login and you can change language to English etc at the bottom of the page. Hope that helps. All 5 items must be available to order in a single transaction too - so no “save for later” or “can’t ship to your location” ones.

turbobuddah

Metroid Prime is one of the best games i've ever played, still baffles me why they're taking so long with a fourth. Never understood why Capcom never tried a Megaman game in the same style either

maddocks2379

But you can use the Wii u gamepad as a the screen using a wiimote. Not overly useful but afaik can avoid buying a sensor bar, the gamepad has one built in

sasuke0

Feels like PS4 and Xbox One remasters all over again.

At least the Wii U can play every Wii title backward compatible. Dont have to wait for Nintendo to release a 3 year old game on a new console and pay again!!

This is a standalone extension of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which also includes the Expansion Pass. From what I have read they say you should play the original before this to understand the story behind it, but you can play either one in any order if you don't care about that.

Chiptivo

I don't really understand as this is not the actual game?? Do you play it with the game, before or after?

digidavek

Exactly right with the coming away part part. This is why I never finished the first one on the Wii U after 12 month pause. Though this is why the Switch is great. I play in bed, at work, in the bath... I just love my Switch.

Xtranathor

Yes indeed! XBC2 looks great, but it's far in a long line of games, of which I don't really have the time to play any of them!

Blaat_blaat

I am like you love rpg, but this game is something else i would say I have played about 15 to 20 hour of the main game still feel like I don't understand half the things in the game. The story is sort of simple but complex at the same time and leaving the game for a week or 2 is a bad idea I always come back with the feeling I have forgotten half the stuff I before. It's an amazing game if you can play it continues for a long period of time but otherwise I would leave it and chose something else

It's got a great scope, playing this game in the same year as Zelda really surprised me because I had just as good a time; it was essentially the story fix I was craving from Zelda in this game. Soundtrack is amazing as well

Playing Torna first would ruin a lot of XC2 plot twists and reveals.

jco83

OP it's not clear from your post and Amazon have confused the issue with the repeated use of DLC in their 'Features & details' information which you have used in your description, but this is for the physical standalone game as depicting by Amazon's primary image

Have you played similar? It's cheesy as hell.

Kiddy? It's fiction, sure, but if you've finished it you'll know it's got some pretty mature themes, even if they're bonkers. A few JRPG tropes chucked in for good measure of course, but I quite enjoyed it. Anyone thinking about buying, remember you need the analogue nub to play (New 3DS/New 2DS)

lukins1

I personally found the combat great as it reminded me of timing attacks and strategy on FF11, working as a group instead of just taking turns in most RPGs.

lukins1

Conversely I spent about 200 hours on the Wii version and loved the music, story, characters and world. Would love to play through it again so might pick this up.

Weehamish

most boring game ive ever played.... amazing world let down by silly kiddy story and mind numbingly boring combat

Just out of interest in case you're thinking of the digital version, I don't think I've ever seen the physical copy of the expansion down to £20 never mind regularly. If you dip out of the main story at ch7 and dive back in after, you will be disappointed with the base game performance and complexity I reckon. In technical terms, Torna is much better than the base game imo - the combos and mechanics are easier to work with and battles are a lot more brisk. Going back to base might be a touch jarring. Story wise, yes, it will help a bit, but there's something to be said about finishing the story and then seeing how Torna unfolds (albeit already knowing the outcome). It's a good 20 hours of solid play to finish Torna, with a few more hours to 100% it (super bosses etc). The 100% reward is quite nice though. For the person that was annoyed by base game characters; Torna has a LOT less boobs. So you're okay there. Re getting cheaper, unlikely imo. Expansion has been this price since launch.

joanddan7

I might do the tutorial on Torna and the that way the devs suggest! Cheers everyone. Liking the idea of better tutorial to get me into it.

elchery

It's better to play the original game upto chapter 7, then move over to Torna expansion, then return to finish the original game. I read somewhere that's how devs suggest playing it all.

westy90

I finished the base game a while back. But its hard to say for that reason, as I have already done it that way. its a prequel so its perfectly fine to start with torna. It just fills in a few gaps (addam) so you will understand the story a bit better in the main game. I found that the tutorial and combat was a lot better in torna making it easier for beginners to understand the battle system

hotmep

I couldn't stand the characters, style and tone of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Is this one better for that, as in less Japanese kids show with boobs?

I love that when they call it an expansion they really do mean it in the classic sense of the term. This is essentially an entirely new game, a solid 20hours worth even if just doing the story and not any of the peripheral bits. xenoblade 2 and the expansion has to be some of the best value in gaming, there is just so much content in there even just for the main story

Realhoneyman

Can't you use the 5% off for liking them on Facebook or something? That'll bring it down to £23.27 or thereabouts.

It's not Nintendo fault that their games keep their value. Plus with having non changing value allows high trade In for those games, which alot a gamers seem to care about. I believe they keep the value because they aren't defined by the latest annual release that sell mostly because of gamers needs of graphics. I have seen Zelda go on sale for 33% off a few times and that's probably the best your going to get.

Maetras

Well whatever is worth it for you. My comment was stupid but the amount of bias towards certain companies and products gets on my nerves. Ie people voting cold straight away regardless of whether it’s a deal or not and people making comments like mine on non-Nintendo games and then people agree. I apologise for my stupid comment it was childish. I do like Nintendo but they can be quite backwards and their games are overpriced (and never go on sale for a good price ie zelda).

Maetras

Yeah but the thing is that the movie will go down in price but the game won’t (except maybe a couple pounds)

FieryDevilz

15 hours for the main story of torna and at least double that to do everything Then the DLC for the main game which could take around 30 hours or more. Worth it to me.
