Great price, voted hot but.....the poor wrist band connection means you may possibly lose it. I have already lost my Huawei band A2 and almost lost my cheap Letscomm band. I have now got a Huawei band 4 with a proper buckle and there's no way it will get lost off my wrist.

Can't see NFC in specs or this one is without?

Yes I found that out. Bought a Nintendo DSi XL to add to my collection

Minimum eBay spend is £50 to get 10% off.

Where is it £35? Thanks

You can't be serious. Its £35 here , £13 premium from a reseller for NFC?

If you are lucky enough it can emulate your access card to office. I have tried this with Hey+ and it wasn't able to emulate my access card because of security. Anyway, there're better deals for MB4 at ebay (£29-£32)

Just ordered through Aliexpress xiaomi outlet (y) the standard version as the nfc isn't available just yet and pointless over here but would have liked the ai speaker

It's a voice assistant and I don't believe that will work outside of China either. Better to spend less on the non NFC version.

Correct there as it uses alipay But the nfc version is supposed to have ai speaker Is that an actual speaker to play music through? Or is it Chinese for voice activation like alexa? Can't find anything about that. Even on Aliexpress xiaomi outlet store

You won't be able to use it for payments in the UK. NFC version also has poorer battery life.

For all intents and purposes Apple is run by Chi-coms

That was only the FBI asking them nicely. Different to an executive order in which all companies have to comply (Huawei ban was an executive order from Trump) Article 7 of China’s national intelligence law dictates that companies must comply with the government to help in intelligence work. Article 8 also sets the rules in which a company can refuse to work with the government, be this if it goes against human rights (privacy is a human right) or if it goes against the interests of the business. With these laws, Huawei could refuse to gather intel for the government just on the bases that it could damage their brand/consumer confidence. Just like Apple did. The only difference being, in America you cannot argue against an executive order, as it becomes law. When trump was a candidate for president, he called for a boycott against Apple for not allowing the FBI access. ‘Who do they think they are’ - Leads me to believe he would have signed an executive order forcing them - and all companies to comply with FBI investigations in the future. The USA is a democracy that gives an individual dictator-eske powers. A very strange situation.

sorry xiamoi no pro no go. great deal tho, just hope the A3 goes gllobal.

I was under the impression that Apple actually refused to do what the US govt asked.

OK, I'm just going to ignore the state of your writing and address what I think might be your point. I was answering the question regarding other Chinese phone companies potentially being treated like Huawei. I was implying that, since the others don't seem to have have such close ties with the Chinese military and government, it shouldn't be assumed that they would suffer the same fate. Somehow, you seem to have managed to infer that I was being negative about all Chinese phones when I wasn't. I wasn't even being negative about Huawei.

Mods probably saw it as XiaomiTemple derailing the thread. I think he tagged lots of "expert" members then he compared his own deal and spoke of how MyDealz operates. A tendency to be pedantic about other deals< might have contributed to his suspension.

I didn’t get suspended but all my comments got deleted. Still not sure why but I believe they would have had a valid reason :)

Apologies for the outburst. It appears I was a mere piece in a big jigsaw.

Thanks for that (y)

Received mine today. Can't sign in to the app and customer service have no clue as to when it might work. I'll give them a couple of days before asking for a refund.

I don't understand why the Mi Band 3 has Apple support when the Apple watch doesn't support Android.

Thank.. I was having a problem and thought it might be beacue it was up to date already (ios). Will try my android later.

I had some issue getting the firmware on my mi band to update on IOS - kept on failing to update. Luckily, I was able to use an andriod device - the latest version of their android app was also unable to update the firmware as the version it came with was so old (! I had to manually download version 3.5.5 of the android Mi Fit app to update the firmware on the Mi Band 3 to version After that, the latest version of the android and IOS Mi Fit app was able to update the firmware on the band to the latest version, It seems that version is a is a transition firmware that has to be reached before the update will work on the latest version of the apps! Hope this helps someone as I could find nothing on the internet about this issue!

Mine arrived today. I'd already registered an account for Mi Fit a few days before it arrived. Mines all up and running. Having a Mi Redmi Note 7 and a Mi Pad 4 I'm already used to the Mi ecosystem.

I bought a single item from geatbest 12 months ago using a credit card that I only use for foreign transactions. This week I had someone charge a fraudulent transaction to my card, and I had to have the card blocked, I am pretty sure it was because of this gearbest leak; which I thought sounded really bad, when I had read about it just two days before the transaction appeared......

Guys got one for the wife but first one takes ages to start tracking her steps.? Sent first one back just got the replacement and it's the same takes ages to start tracking her steps

Nice cheap watch, not very bright though

I’ve got one of these which I’ve had for 3-4 months. It looks fine on me and I identify currently as male ((y) ) - my missus has the version 2 which is less blobby looking - both seem to work fine, charge lasts well.....the sleep tracker seems to wonk out about once a fortnight by telling me I went to bed 5 hours later than I did and of course you need to take the deep sleep etc figures with a bit of a pinch of salt, but the app is good (I use iOS version, Laydee uses android). So if you want something to tell the time, count steps, bathe in, give you some idea of sleep and not look minging for £15/£20 - I got mine from China ont internet - you can’t go wrong.

If you buy this and are an android user you really need to buy the Notify & Fitness for mi band app. It offers three times the functionality that the official app does. It's my go to app for Miband. Note you will still need the official app installed also.

I would say the slider is the most disappointing part of the phone. It's really hard to operate - you are basically trying to use the smooth screen to get a grip on, and then when it does open the camera is always covered in dust. Plus the phone weighs a ton. I've had to put a different launcher on to get the software feeling right, as although there are some lovely touches in MIUI there are a fair few infuriating ones too! If I had the choice again I'm not sure I would have gone with this phone. My phones normally last me 2-3 years but I can't see this one not getting replaced for that long.

Yea different needs for different people. I really miss the headphone jack but I have it in my S10+ and view 20. The only phones I own that dont have a headphone jack is my HTC U11 and my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and I do miss it when I don't have it. And for me fast charging is never an excuse for a small battery. The view 20 comes with the Huawei Supercharger in the box and takes for phone from 0-60 in 30 mins and the battery is a 4000mah battery. Even my s10+ has a 4100mah battery. Both are battery champs compared to the mi 9. Don't get me wrong I do love the mi 9 but it's far from the perfect phone, especially for my uses.

It has quick charge 4 and 20w wireless charging so kinda make up for small battery About the headphone jack, Apple started it and most people have Bluetooth devices now, I don't see it as a deal breaker I own a Pocophone I rarely use headphone jack

Oh right I stand corrected then. Still no good for me though without dedicated headphone jack. I have 3 sets of high end headphones, a headphone jack is still a priority for me even though its a dying trend on phones now but while I can still get a high end phone with one it will always take preference over one without. Plus the mi 9 has quite a small battery for a flagship despite the 855 efficiency.

No it's fine, the processor and (apparently) the camera is better on the note 7, though I didn't notice it, the note 7 would be the wise choice for the better processor and longer updates :)

Note much difference in price between the Note 5 and 7 - would the 7 be better? (sorry for going a bit OT)

Yeah, if you can stretch to it, I'd get the note 5

This is quite an old phone, I'd be concerned about getting a used refurb phone being sold as new. You forgot the statutory health warning about chinese sellers and chinese goods. You started writing it for a few months after I started writing it but it's not written here. The buyers should know they have no warranty, CS or returns with these products.

is this much different to the xiaomi redmi 5 pro?

oh yes! everything is authorised to snap, crackle and pop - they are all excluded from battery saving and I have opened them and locked them in the task manager. Each of the apps has been checked to make sure the toggles are active for notifications, sound, vibration, light and floating. Bloody things still only hit 80% of the time and because of the notch there is not much to see in the top bar - the recent update gives a slightly better initial notification alert on the bar with an icon, but then it rolls away. I expected it to work in a similar fashion to my Motorola, which is excellent - always on oled display would show the icon/message and a tap and hold would show more info and then you could jump straight to the app. They will probably implement something like that and the Mi community peeps suggested an app to use, but it has spoiled it for me now a bit. The battery is excellent though - the mere mention of just 3000mAh gets everyone's panties pulled up their crack, but it has been great.

The problem is with MIUI, it's a well known issue. Did you try fixing it?

Yes, that case...... Mr Switch and Bisto indeed.

If you have the £5 off £20 spend on eBay until 24th - check, I did but wasn't aware - you can get it on there for around £2 more than this price, without the risk of import charges and better decent backup in case of dodgy sellers/products.

Yeah ever since royal mail got privatised and government lowered import duty we get stitched up. Everytime I order something from China I am paying a couple of quid import duty and then 8 quid for royal mail to collect the £2 and redeliver it so total of £10

Bought this to replace several much more expensive smart watches that I have had. It's great. It wakens me up every morning by vibrating. My calls come through on it. Counts steps and tells the time. Battery lasts for ages. You can get messages and what's app on it as well but I have those turned off.

Thank you Mrswitch just what I am after , have to wake every 3/4 hours without waking the wife.

Yeah, it's definitely enough to wake you up, and if you set your alarm on your phone for multiple times, I'd assume the band would vibrate at each point, though I've never been in that situation to use that.

It's enough to wake you up and can you do multiple alarms throughout the day. Appreciate the quick reply.

Yes, my wrist vibrates at 6am every morning.
