I'd get in touch with them

chopspops

I still haven't had my mi band - should I contact their customer services - I was expecting it to arrive in the same parcel as the pocophone, but it didn't

RoosterUK

Oh and I've found the Mi band 3 to be a bit useless, I'm not really into fitness tracking which it might do ok, it did seem to pick up heart rate. But the display is truly awful, you can't read it in outside daylight not even to just to see the time. Thought it might be good for getting message previews on notifications but as the screen is unreadable in daylight thats not going to work!

MrSwitch

No problem, it isn't my post, just seen it earlier

RoosterUK

Ahh there they are, did have a quick search but used the term Xiaomi rather than Mi store and I didn't see your post!

Ordered 2 of the below from Aliexpress on 18th July and arrived today. Look good and a very good fit, the rubberised protection goes round the outeredge of the phone snuggly but not sure on how much protection that will offer compared to plastic or similar. Hopefully with my wifes usage around the house, at work and in and out of her bag it won't matter. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32960211123.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.67f94c4dwM8j5n

Mine arrived today. Having set it up, the date is definitely showing as Thu 11/7 on the default band display. If yours isn't, either: 1. Check to see if you have the most recent firmware update, and / or 2. Check the date settings in the app or on your phone, as it may pull the date format from there. HTH ;)

KrispiiDuck

I didn't have a Band 3 but Band 2 showed the date as Thu 11 Jul and this one as 07/11. I'd like to be able to have UK format 11/07. I'm OK once the day gets past 12th (y)

dreadzone101, Many thanks for the all the info / linked threads. Appreciate the effort made. (y) I am currently waiting out my '168 Hour' delay before getting the Bootloader unlocked. (Interesting system that Xiaomi have making everyone wait a random number of hours before you can unlock the bootloader, I know the official 'reasoning' BUT I suspect that the delay is to allow Xiaomi to collect lots of info on what you are doing to the phone before you unlock the bootloader. ;) (shock) ) I spent some time, out of pure nosiness, going through all the apps (including system apps) noting the amount of data that had been 'Transfered' for the data collection built into all the MiUI Apps and System Apps that replace the usual Google software. The data collection is massive and continuous !!! :) I will be 'upgrading' the OS soon, once the bootloader unlock completes. I am not bothered about the ROM version as long as the 'Hardware' is essentially the same as I can flash whatever Version I want (EEA or Global or other !!!). I have just discovered you can get the UK Version from eBuyer for the same price (give or take a few pence.). I would probably go for that if you want a UK Phone from a UK Dealer. (The extras offered by Mi Xiaomi UK were not of interest and made their dearer pricing unattractive for me.) In spite of all that ..... the Phone is very good in terms of Hardware spec & build quality and it is very nice to use. I am still more than happy with the purchase :D BTW: MIUI is really quite nice and I could normally live with it BUT the excessive Data collection is a spoiler for me.

dreadzone101

Definitely HK Version then. Essentially the same as UK except the sticker and ROM. If there was a UK ref on the shrinkwrap, it was applied by the seller. Xiaomi's own labelling would be underneath the shrinkwrap. The EEA ROM can apparently be flashed only if you first unlock the bootloader. However, it unlikely worth the trouble. Both are considered 'Global' ROM. See here< at 8:29. Theirs is UK Version bought from UK Mi Site. Xiaomi just started using EEA ROM since Mi 9 earlier this year. Not sure what the difference is though. The Mi 9 European launch was late February but then it launched in various Asian markets in March, which have the 'MI' Global ROM. Here's a thread< when people with the EU Version noticed the 'MI' Global ROM had been uploaded. Here's a similar thread< for Redmi Note 7.

Huawei_or_my_way

No Red Sticker on box BUT box had 'UK' ref on the barcode label on the shrinkwrap and date 05/19 on the box???? Maybe it is HK Version but everything works as far as I can tell !!!??? Can the EU Rom be flashed to this phone [Please only say yes if this is 'known' not a guess as I do not want to 'kill' the phone, Thanks. :) ] ? I might try it if it will not break it The 'Global rom' from the official website is the version I have installed, the EEA Rom is the rom you have referenced with 'EU' in the name, calling the phone with the EEA rom 'Global' is confusing !!! :)

dreadzone101

Their stock is located in UK but having PFGMIXM ROM means it's not UK Version. Did it have a red "Global Version" sticker on the box? UK Version: has red "Global Version" sticker and PFGEUXM ROM HK Version: no red "Global Version" sticker and PFGMIXM ROM Both have UK plug. "Mi World" answered a question last month saying it's "Asian Version"< and a HUKD member who bought from them in April confirmed they got HK Version<.

Huawei_or_my_way

To be fair to this seller, I purchased the Redmi note 7 64GB last week via Amazon UK (Thursday night 13th). Delivery was confirmed for Wed/Thurs (19/20th) by Amazon and received it from Amazon on Saturday (15th) so it was from existing UK stock. :) Phone was shrinkwrapped/sealed and Box was printed as UK Model dated 05/2019. (Phone is running 'miui_LAVENDERGlobal_V10.3.5.0.PFGMIXM_a5cabeca22_9.0' which is latest version of Redmi Note 7 Global ROM) Phone is excellent and all works fine and i have no complaints using this seller. (1st time buying from a HK Retailer although stock & returns are via Amazon UK which gives some protection :) Have to say although 'miui' (Xiaomi's Android Version) is very nice ..... it collects far too much 'data' to send back to Xiaomi !!! I will be installing 'Lineage 16.x' as soon as I can to get rid of all the 'Dross' and unneeded apps/Data collection etc ;) :)

I don't understand why the Mi Band 3 has Apple support when the Apple watch doesn't support Android.

simonbrowne

Thank.. I was having a problem and thought it might be beacue it was up to date already (ios). Will try my android later.

SamSquamch

I had some issue getting the firmware on my mi band to update on IOS - kept on failing to update. Luckily, I was able to use an andriod device - the latest version of their android app was also unable to update the firmware as the version it came with was so old (1.5.0.2)! I had to manually download version 3.5.5 of the android Mi Fit app to update the firmware on the Mi Band 3 to version 2.2.0.14. After that, the latest version of the android and IOS Mi Fit app was able to update the firmware on the band to the latest version, 2.4.0.12. It seems that version 2.2.0.14 is a is a transition firmware that has to be reached before the update will work on the latest version of the apps! Hope this helps someone as I could find nothing on the internet about this issue!

philtheclaret

Mine arrived today. I'd already registered an account for Mi Fit a few days before it arrived. Mines all up and running. Having a Mi Redmi Note 7 and a Mi Pad 4 I'm already used to the Mi ecosystem.

I’ve got one of these which I’ve had for 3-4 months. It looks fine on me and I identify currently as male ((y) ) - my missus has the version 2 which is less blobby looking - both seem to work fine, charge lasts well.....the sleep tracker seems to wonk out about once a fortnight by telling me I went to bed 5 hours later than I did and of course you need to take the deep sleep etc figures with a bit of a pinch of salt, but the app is good (I use iOS version, Laydee uses android). So if you want something to tell the time, count steps, bathe in, give you some idea of sleep and not look minging for £15/£20 - I got mine from China ont internet - you can’t go wrong.

lonechump

If you buy this and are an android user you really need to buy the Notify & Fitness for mi band app. It offers three times the functionality that the official app does. It's my go to app for Miband. Note you will still need the official app installed also.

I would say the slider is the most disappointing part of the phone. It's really hard to operate - you are basically trying to use the smooth screen to get a grip on, and then when it does open the camera is always covered in dust. Plus the phone weighs a ton. I've had to put a different launcher on to get the software feeling right, as although there are some lovely touches in MIUI there are a fair few infuriating ones too! If I had the choice again I'm not sure I would have gone with this phone. My phones normally last me 2-3 years but I can't see this one not getting replaced for that long.

LazybeatX

Yea different needs for different people. I really miss the headphone jack but I have it in my S10+ and view 20. The only phones I own that dont have a headphone jack is my HTC U11 and my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and I do miss it when I don't have it. And for me fast charging is never an excuse for a small battery. The view 20 comes with the Huawei Supercharger in the box and takes for phone from 0-60 in 30 mins and the battery is a 4000mah battery. Even my s10+ has a 4100mah battery. Both are battery champs compared to the mi 9. Don't get me wrong I do love the mi 9 but it's far from the perfect phone, especially for my uses.

Arsenal012019

It has quick charge 4 and 20w wireless charging so kinda make up for small battery About the headphone jack, Apple started it and most people have Bluetooth devices now, I don't see it as a deal breaker I own a Pocophone I rarely use headphone jack

LazybeatX

Oh right I stand corrected then. Still no good for me though without dedicated headphone jack. I have 3 sets of high end headphones, a headphone jack is still a priority for me even though its a dying trend on phones now but while I can still get a high end phone with one it will always take preference over one without. Plus the mi 9 has quite a small battery for a flagship despite the 855 efficiency.

oh yes! everything is authorised to snap, crackle and pop - they are all excluded from battery saving and I have opened them and locked them in the task manager. Each of the apps has been checked to make sure the toggles are active for notifications, sound, vibration, light and floating. Bloody things still only hit 80% of the time and because of the notch there is not much to see in the top bar - the recent update gives a slightly better initial notification alert on the bar with an icon, but then it rolls away. I expected it to work in a similar fashion to my Motorola, which is excellent - always on oled display would show the icon/message and a tap and hold would show more info and then you could jump straight to the app. They will probably implement something like that and the Mi community peeps suggested an app to use, but it has spoiled it for me now a bit. The battery is excellent though - the mere mention of just 3000mAh gets everyone's panties pulled up their crack, but it has been great.

The 2/16GB Global Version Redmi 6A + Mi Band 3 would currently be approx £100 from Gearbest and £110 from Eglobal. The M6 Note you posted was Meizu's equivalent to Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4/4X. The phone you bought and became faulty, which you've also repeatedly commented about<. Yet you're fine with recommending a lesser known brand because it's good spec for price? It seems more like your issue is towards Xiaomi as a whole rather than this deal in particular. You've been criticising them for months<

MrSwitch

That's your opinion, and you are entitled to it, I have never said this is the best phone at this price, but this is a good price for this phone, and the band 3 added into the mix. This is a deals site, not a don't post the deal because there are better phones out there sitem

MrSwitch

High price? Really! The phone itself is £95, which is a good price for this particular phone, I never once said it was a better phone than the Meizu you posted a while back. Add on the mi band 3,and that makes this a cracking deal.

FizzyD2046

Alot better. The 6A and 6 are horrible, cheap phones. The 6A is worth £50 tops, and even at that price, I wouldn't buy one as its so compromised.

FizzyD2046

Not really. The 6A is a terrible phone. Horrible to handle, terrible, cheap plastic build, really slow components etc. Even using something as basic as the YouTube App results in jerkiness and lag.
