Double check, those could be one cup ones, half the flavour. These are not. They may have changed the blend due to rising costs of raw tea. I've noticed it too as it's the only tea that I drink regularly.

futura

Used to like these but seem to have changed taste lately

Picked these up yesterday. Good deal for a quality tea. Tried others, but can’t beat Yorkshire for me

tightar5e

Tesco recently had the 240 bags for £4 and the 160+80 Free for £5.40 right next to each other on the shelf, easily intermixing the two. Identical sized box (from Yorkshire's tea final packing perspective) except for the yellow print on the side, £1.40 price difference. Tesco is like walking around a Casino, ready to trick you out of your hard earned cash at every turn, (if you aren't eagle-eyed -careful). Items that are £1-£3, vary by up to £1-£2 depending on what week you turn up. Don't get me started on the con that Twinnings do, selling 100 Everyday teabags for an (inflated) £5 - 50% of the time, £3 the other 50% of the time, that is tarted around all Supermarkets, at different times. Complicit offer price fixing.

Ah, yes, good point

GAVINLEWISHUKD

I'm not trying to say I was right and you were wrong. Just something for people to think about. Yes certainly the bigger the numbers the more beneficial it will be. Not sure how many people have a 95% mortgage which is in the £1800 ball park per month. But you seem to have done your homework and have a plan that works for you. :)

buttonpushervic

You missed my bit about overpayments. My mortgage as a FTB last year was for just under £350k... by overpaying a bit here and there and keeping fingers crossed for 5% increase in house price per year (not inconceivable where we live) I’m hoping we can get a rate at remortgage time that will be £200ish less a month - which will then be allocated for monthly overpayments to pay it down even quicker.

GAVINLEWISHUKD

You also need to looks at the numbers rather than just the LTV. Example: Borrowing £130k (reasonable figure for a first time buyer going for a free fee product) at the end of 5 years you will owe £113k Example: Borrowing £130k after 3 years you will owe £120k. Then you take a 2 year fixed at 2.5% (based on today's best rate plus 2x ¼ points rise). So borrowing £120k after 2 years you will only be a few hundred pounds better off. So you are swapping £200 (or so) for the security of a fixed mortgage for another 2 year. It may be a good thing if say your finances change (redundancy or a baby). Just food for thought. :)

Kill8ill

My mortgage is due to renewal in february next year. Just before brexit, so hopefully situation will be clearer to know should we fix for long or short term.

I'm in the market for a mortgage and YBS are offering the best deal for me. What's the name of the fee you're referring to? If you're referring to what I think you're referring to then I thought paying solicitors fees is pretty standard. Unless I'm mistaken and there are some providers who cover it as well?

jonnybfern

Be aware that they are one of the lenders who do get you to pay solictors fees. They aren't obvious anywhere in comparison engines, but they do come up in the application. Basically another £500 of fees right there. Their 1.74% on 65% LTV is still just about worth it for us though.

morrig

Sorry to do this but I'd highly HIGHLY discourage you from going here. I booked this the last time this deal was featured on here. It was so bad we left early and after threatening to post a review and images to trip advisor the manager kindly refunded me in full. I don't want to go into too much detail but this place is very run down and dated. The room was cold and dirty. It was just not a pleasant experience. Staff were fine, manager friendly. But this place desperately needs some TLC. Food not great at all either.
