The white version is still £20 if you didn't mind the colour.

Hot from me but it's £24.99 now ;( Can please anybody comment if it's still worth getting for a fiver more? Any alternatives? Thanks.

Mine arrived. Wow - so nice quality. Three huge fans probably would have cost 20 alone!! Love the 3.5 screwless slots (two sata bays pre-installed) Love the 2.5 mounts (i found two) Hate how many holes are on top and on the sides...had to tape them up to get the air flowing all in one direction. (can't tell it's taped from the outside though) I had a full size atx board i jerry rigged into a mini atx case (PSU and water cooler hangs outside the box!)...it now finally has a proper home and it's one of the most compact full size atx boxes!

If you wanted to purchase the two fans which are included with this case you'd be looking at around a tenner so I think it's a towering deal.

Some people accuse me of being negative, so I didnt mention the rumour they werent a very good system builder. Nice name though. InWin were one of the makes I took a seriously long look at before buying my current Phanteks case; they make some very good, understated cases for very little money; even at £40 odd, this is a worthwhile purchase.

Indeed, buy Zoostorm i3 4130, 4150, 4160 boxes off ebay goes about £120 with 8 gb ram and a terabyte storage. fast as snot for a surfing rig. Ignore celery rubbish. ACTUALLY, YES, found it; https://ark.intel.com/products/87257/Intel-Celeron-Processor-N3050-2M-Cache-up-to-2_16-GHz 2 CORE/2 T CPU, https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Celeron+N3050+@+1.60GHz&id=2541 881 cpu marks (about 2002 pc performance). 8 watts. FCBGA1170 laptop chip,Ball Grid Array. (soldered). Only 4 pci-e lanes, its worse than that, its DEAD, Jim!

I bought a laptop with almost exactly this spec 4 years ago for about this money (give or take a fiver). To pay the same now for a refurb desktop unit is, by comparison, very, very poor value. This should be stone cold. You can buy a refurb i5 machine for £90 here: https://itzoo.co.uk/collections/pc-base-units/products/refurbished-lenovo-m81-sff-desktop-pc-i5-3-10ghz-4gb-500gb-win-10-home

>>>Plenty of USB ports including USB 3.0 too (8 in total). Not that it is a big deal, but I can only see 6 USB ports, 2 on the front (1 USB 3.0) and 4 on the back (2 USB 3.0) I do notice on the front there seems to be an open/close button (on the right) so that may indicate a CD/DVD drive. If you look at the images on that web page the last of the 6 images shows an "Intel i5 Inside" which is a bit strange on a PC running a Celeron !!! Also I note the description for the PC says "delivering blazing fast performance and lightning fast data transfer speeds."

Could you point to anything with a better spec for a similar price?

Not really 2.16ghz base clocked at 1.6ghz. You get these low power processors in tablets and notebooks for their low power consumption which is useful for portable products. With this your getting poor performance but no portability, no screen, no keyboard etc. Personally I would go for something like this if could put up with such a slow device and use the money saved to bump up the ram perhaps.

My moneys on a cheap PSU taking out the motherboards.

It wouldn't be if it's out of warranty and the PSU blows and takes out the motherboard CPU and Gfx card :/

My guess is that the PSU fried the motherboards. The cheap PSU in these are very unlikely to give consistent currents and voltages. Decent motherboards will cope with some variation but the cheap motherboards in these will just give in. Ultimately, it's the PSU which is most likely to cause problems.

You don't need to spend that sort of cash, unless you want to of course, for an office machine you could do worse than buy from: https://itzoo.co.uk/collections/pc-base-units I bought an i-5 3470s from them several months ago and its been switched on 24/7 and used to stream to Twitch. Been flawless so far and only cost £160 with an SSD and 8gb memory. Monitors are 10 a penny, £100 gets you a 24' that will suit an office environment..

Hardly, what would be the chances of 2 motherboards failing in two seperate computers both within 24hrs? Don't forget the hassle of time off to accept deliveries and trips to post office to send back the defective PC's. Bad experience, yes. Bad luck, stretching it a bit there....[as luck has f**k all to do with it, either poor workmanship or bad quality components, nothing unlucky about it].

Haven't built a completely new system since 2012 so will have some fun with this. To add, everything intact, no damage, extremely well packaged, happy days.

Just moved my rig into the s340, EATX motherboard, Noctua D15s cooler, EATX was tight squeeze but fits by taking off the cable management bar.

Mine arrived too, not built it up yet but looks great. The red accent is confined to the top of the front panel, you hardly notice it. Only thing I didn't like is the screws for removing the side panels - awkward and sticky. Just needs a front fan. Overall - delighted.

Case arrived this afternoon. It's really a great case, nothing about it feels 'cheap' note it is a 'gaming case', so you only get two 3.5" drive cages, two SSD's, and there is no way to add a DVD drive, but the airflow is well thought out. nice big feet to raise it up for the bottom PSU inlet, the best I've seen. simple full height inlet filter over two 120-140mm fans (with almost no annoying holes for dust to enter) top 120-140mm fan mount plenty of side panel recess for cable routing top mount USB 3.0 ports huge rear access to the processor backplate The front panel really is very stiff to remove, so get your thumbs by the split dowels and push really hard, the plastic is very thick and won't break. I'm not a big fan of the red, so that may get sprayed over. Side windows are a matter of taste, I'd rather have a panel I could glue sound absorption foam to. Not a lot of clearance at the top, so a radiator may not fit. This is actually better thought out than a lot of £100 cases I'd buy another without a second thought.

You filthy case-ist!

Bought.. wanted a slightly more compact case than the BitFenix Shinobi I currently have. Thanks for the find.

No, believe it or not it doesn't. Ryzen's IPC is a bit below Intel's so it's less than 50%. But despite that, having 50% more cores does help in everything else right now, and even in gaming it can maintain good FPS so all in all it's a much better bet for people qho wish to buy a gaming rig that can handle today, plus a bit of future-proofing for tomorrow.

How does this compare the the p75 i bought in 1995?

At 1080p the gap closes but the hierarchy is still intact, and the intel quads still comfortably lead every Ryzen. The higher the resolution the more you lean on the GPU, and so the gap minimises to near nothing. You aren't testing CPUs then, you are just doing a GPU test. However the reason why you would use a CPU bound low resolution test is because it can be a very good indicator of how fast a given CPU can drive modern games and utilise the GPU resources available. So when your next GPU upgrade in the near future is far more powerful the faster CPUs will likely drive it to better framerates even at higher resolution that you might play at. Less chance of a bottleneck with more GPU performance. Intel dominate in this regard for games. 6700k is still a very fast gaming CPU with no AMD equal.

While this has been true for years and it does suck for consumers, from a business perspective you absolutely can't blame them. For nearly a decade they have had absolutely no competition with the higher end chips. Then Ryzen came out and all of a sudden the jump from the 7700K to the 8700K is the biggest performance jump seen between intel generations in a long time. It's great that AMD are putting up a decent fight again. Looking at it all from only a gaming perspective throws things off a bit. Games are notoriously bad at utilizing multiple cores well. In other CPU intensive applications the high core/ thread count CPU's leave this kind of CPU in the dust. But given this is being sold as a gaming PC this CPU is still one of the best CPU's for gaming, where the speed and number of instructions per cycle each core can do is far more important to performance than the number of cores. Edit: Not saying anyone here has been ripped off yet but those buying graphics cards on ebay be careful. There have been a lot of fake cards showing up on ebay. Old 560's,etc flashed with a fake BIOS to make them show up as newer cards.

Hi mate, how did you fixed the battery on the 11.6" version? Any chance of a quick summary guide and where to buy the Samsung cells? Many thanks

Bought one of these when they were £60 and it was a very nippy machine, exceeding expectations. Replaced the cells in the battery for less than a tenner. The only down side is that when the fan really kicks in, it is very loud.

Wow!, that is a proper super weak PSU?. :-( Didn't think that lower than 500W existed again?. Even 350W one's we're all but done with 5+ year's ago already I believe? (how much moreso the 450W+ that then came to replace it ... ) Today, I've seen everything, lol. I can't see that PSU lasting long for actual power intensive 'stuffs' in any way? (I could be wrong?), it's a shame really.

What an awful looking case.

There is better that you can buy, or build. (Not everyones taste, I know).

You could, but the PSU is super weak 250W, and so you would be limited to a very low power GPU, which would barely be better than the integrated graphics. You could of course, also replace the PSU as well, but you would be looking at £80+ for a reasonable one.

I honestly can't give you top-notch PC advice, there's others on HUKD that are much better informed than I am...but as you say, it may be good for a casual gamer. I do think Zoostorm's ebay store is pretty competitively priced and doesn't involve the credit rating wrangling or risk involved (but it's all in black and white on here, so it's up to the buyer to take that risk). Ah no worries. Thanks for responding though. Given that you listed the others I though you or someone else would know if it was a good deal or not. For me, having a quick look around it seems difficult to find a PC with a similar processor & SSD for that price. While it does not have a dedicated graphics card, the Intel HD 530 should be enough to play most games on at least medium settings. It is just the question of whether £489.99 is a deal or if it is better waiting a week for Bank Holiday sales just in case.
