can't find it.....? :?

It's on the VERY last step before you actually submit your order... Ie, the page where if you click continue, your order is complete and payment will then be processed.

I used this coupled with a voucher I had. The result? A 500GB hard drive for little over £33. If you do this just dont add any discs to your list, but dont cancel it immediately... Wait until your order is despatched and then do it. It might not matter, but better safe than sorry.

Does anyone know if this can be done more than once? Will it work just using a different card and same login details? Or is it just a one-time deal?

sounds good - bu you have to pay the first months 3.99 is that correct?

Not quite. If you have no interest in renting DVDs and just want the credit you can sign up, DO NOT even add DVDs to your queue and then cancel soon afterwards. I think you have 14 days but I waited only a day.

If you haven't added DVDs to your queue you will qualify for a full refund of the £3.99.

the deal is, you can cancel and claim a refund on your first month if you contact customer services within seven days. If they don't refund you, at least you got £11 off still, but I got a confirmation email saying they'd refund my fee anyway. I got a Pink Ipod nano for £57 because of this, usually ~£75

Just to confirm can i cancel immediately after placing an amazon order and taking advantage of the DVD rental discount?

Heat/Rep added

could i just use a card which is now expired to set up the dvd trial? and then they couldn't charge to it?

^Thats what happened to me just now.

Bought a game, and then got an email saying problem with dvd rental account as card has expired. If I don't enter new card details then they'll cancel the account

Voted HOT!!!!

Just got the 360 messenger kit which was £23.98 apllied the dvd rental promo, price fell to £6.36!
Even with the £3.99 if i cant get it refunded is still only £10.35 DELIVERED!!
Thanks OP!!

Does this apply to any order - if so it could make the new Ipod v.cheap.

Working on the 4GB £99 model it would bring it down to £81.375 plus the £3.99 rental fee (possibly no need to pay the rental fee).

I arrived at £81.375 by -

£99/117.5*100= £84.255 VAT excl price
less £15 = £69.255
Add VAT = £69.255*117.5

Here's the big picture:

You can cancel the subscription within seven working days of the day after the date on which you subscribe; however, this option is not available to you if we have already assigned your first DVD for dispatch (which you can determine by going to Your Rental List and looking at the "Dispatched DVDs" box near the top of the screen. If any of your DVDs already either (i) have a dispatch date; or (ii) are marked "Dispatching Soon", then your statutory cancellation right has expired; otherwise you are still eligible to cancel in this manner. If you are eligible to cancel in this manner, you may do so in accordance with the cancellation instructions set out at the beginning of this clause 14. In order to arrange a refund of your first month's subscription fee, you will then also need to contact us to advise us that you have cancelled in accordance with your statutory rights and to request a refund of your first month's subscription fee. Once you have completed these steps, we will cancel your membership and process your refund. You can read more about your statutory cancellation rights here.

So basically you sign up and they take the fee off your card immediately (within 24 hours im guessing). As long as no DVD's have been sent out to you and you cancel within the first 7 days of signup, you can claim to have the payment refunded back to your card.

Just remember to cancel within the 7 days and contact them!

any idea how long this £15 promotion will last? or is it permanent like the amazon credit card offer.

Like I say - don't even add DVDs to your queue if you're aiming for a refund. Even if they haven't dispatched anything you lose that option if something is allocated to you for dispatch "soon".

I just checked and actually I cancelled the DVD rental only 49 minutes after my order. I can see on my card statement an actual debit & credit so they must take payment immediately.

When I did this it was only £10 being offered. (though I think the actual discount was a bit more (maybe £10 + vat).

Were does the site mention anything about £15 voucher?

Lol

Pair of Senn's for 36p

Hope this works, where's the link to cancel when the order's dispatched ?

im confused.

To cancel the DVD subscription, simply go here:

amazon.co.uk/gp/…tml

Then at the bottom click the 'Close account' button. If the page fails to load, just go to your 'My Account' area and near the bottom click the 'Manage DVD Rental Account Information' link. Somewhere on the right hand side there is a 'Close Your DVD Rental by Post Account' link.

I've tried this all week and apart from a mastercard one I haven't seen a thing about dvd rental. really really really annoying...................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how do u actully sign up?

OK, you have to add the item to your basket that you want in the usual way, and then there's a pop up you hover over on the final page to sign up to the DVD trial which will take £15 from your order.

You don't sign up t the DVD trial first and then get a gift certificate!

Just ordered something with the discount. How long should I wait before canceling the Rental Subscription?

Some are still confused. Ok, Amazon are running a promotion right now for an unspecified period, whereby if you start a DVD Subscription service with them (Cheapest package is £3.99), they subtract £15 from the total order.

You can either use the DVD subscription and cancel after your first month, which means you essentially saved £11 on your order, or you can cancel it within 7 days and get a refund for it - so your not a penny out of pocket and get the full £15 saving. In order to get that refund though, you MUST remember not to add any titles to your rental list as theres a risk they may be despatched to you.

To get this discount...

1. Add something to shopping basket
2. Click proceed to checkout
3. Sign-in
4. Choose or input an address to have the order sent to
5. Choose a delivery method and click continue
6. Choose a payment method and click continue
7. This is the final page im talking about... Once you click 'Place Order', that's you - but dont click it just yet!!... On the right hand side under the 'Order Summary' panel, there should be a DVD icon with £15 written on it... Click it and you get a pop-up, and from there you select your subscription

There you have it

As per their T&C's you should be able to cancel at any time, but personally im waiting till my order gets despatched as it means they then cannot revoke the £15 promotion from my account if for some reason they wanted to.

Just make sure to cancel within the 7 days and make sure not to add anything to your rental list if you plan on asking for a refund.

i've tried it with firefox, explorer and all manner or products. v f'ing irritating. why's it picking on me?

There no order summary, just a thank you from amazon

Just picked up Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria for 35p! I could kiss you, I really could!

-----------

I didnt mean for you to click 'place order' just yet... Im saying that it should be on this page where you see the icon your supposed to click. If in the order summary on this page you do not see said icon, then im afraid it may be likely that the promotion has now ended.

If you placed an order thinking you got the discount after placing it, I suggest you cancel it immediately unless you are ok with not getting the £15 discount.

Looks like the promotion has expired

really? darn was considering halo 3 at £25

tried it with a dvd.... nothing
tried it with a big expensive tv....... nothing
tried it with some books....... nothing
tried it with an ipod...... nothing
tried it with a phone...... nothing
tried it in firefox.... nothing
tried it in explorer..... nothing

good eh!

This has not expired. I just used this with a pair of speakers.

is it only with certain items?

maybe you're buying stuff that aren't sold by amazon, like everything i look at...starting to get annoyed the way amazon is turning into ebay

I just came to post this deal, and found it was already posted! Good work

I managed to get a book I was wanting for free.... book was £13, and I used some Bic razors to fill up to £15 in order to get the free delivery.

amazon.co.uk/BIC…8-2 £0.99
amazon.co.uk/BIC…8-5 £0.69

I've cancelled the DVD sub, and sent them and email requesting the £3.99 sub fee back.

hows it work??? have signed up but dont get it?

oh dear.....shocking how so many people can't follow the simplest of instructions

right then, have signed gone to the very last step in order, no dvd thing in order summary!
