15% off bikes from Halfords

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Came across this code on a cycling forum. Not sure exactly of the validity or when it expires, but it worked for me to get a Boardman ADV 8.9 for £850 to Click and Collect! (Stock on that model seems quite low)

There also seems to be the same offer through Quidco using code BIKE15, I guess you get the 3% cashback too that way though can’t say for sure as it’s not explicit. Looks like this one expires “in one day”. I realised too late and didn’t want to risk messing up my order to try and get the extra cashback as mine was the last one in stock and apparently cancelling the order is not instant.

Some people on the forum claim some branches will also give you 10% British Cycling discount on top of this if you collect in store. I’m not a member so couldn’t try and live chat told me it was not possible to do so, but worth a try if you are a member!

On spec very good value. I bought a cube Ltd Pro a couple years for 900 which had similar spec. Don't see what I got for the extra 400 though. So yeah voodoo always good bang for your buck

Crikey how did you manage that, and what are your thoughts on it. I'm im the market for one as my 60 mile commute is too far for my little legs

Had good service in the branch I went to (Wandsworth), very knowledgeable and friendly guy serving who was patient with my lack of knowledge! Unfortunately the setup of the bike isn't quite right, the gears need some tweaking, but there's a branch nearby so hopefully they'll sort it without too much trouble! Bike is great otherwise and a real bargain for the spec... so yeah, probably wouldn't go for Halfords if there was another choice, but if they have what you want and its 15% off, its not too bad.

Should also add, they do £25 to cover any labour for a year, and if you buy this you get 10% off any accessories, so with the accessories I bought (basically everything you need, haha), it came down to £13, which is a bit of peace of mind for pretty cheap!

If Halfords are doing a flat £25 labour charge for all bikes even e-bikes that makes huge sense with an e-bike especially if its something you aren't allowed to service yourself like within the motor. £25 for a small child's bike would be terrible but for an e-bike is brilliant assuming you have a Halfords with competent repair staff, most are fine I believe but you do hear a few horror stories occasionally. I had a relatively compicated hub geared bike and had no issues with my Halfords but that was years ago.
BIKE15 also works for 15%, and currently works in conjunction with Quidco giving you a further 3% cash back

Not sure if it covers e-bikes too or not. Forgot to mention you also get a free Silver service at the end of the year (usually £50) which seems to cover a lot of the main stuff, so it’s a pretty decent deal, especially if you are buying accessories. Glad to hear they were good with your bike - fingers crossed they are with mine

Nice! Wish I’d thought of checking Quidco before I ordered (only thought of it as I set off to the store!) but not to worry - I was just glad to have found a bike I wanted at a decent price having spent the last couple of weeks reading up and constantly being disappointed by online stores not having my size in (or my size being £200 more than the rest!)

My mistake I actually must have mixed up your post with someone else I'd thought you were referring to an e-bike you purchased.

I have noticed this year that the online retailers seem to have a lot less stock in. Either less brands or just smaller amounts with lots of brands/models simply not listed or marked as 'pre-order' with 6 - 8 weeks for delivery.

Even Giant, which in the past used to have most of their range orderable online and delivered to your home or to pick up in a Giant store, now lists 2 or 3 stores where X bike is available. No good for me to see that the bike I want is available to pick up in a store 200 or 300 miles away.

I also have noticed, IMPO, that bikes generally are very pricey this year. I was considering a new hybrid / flat gravel bike but the prices of them is such that I am thinking of just biting the bullet and moving up to an e-bike.

Back at Easter Halfords had 20% off all bikes - yes, Time machine - so this deal, if you get Quidco as well only brings you up to a possible 18% off. Not saying this is a bad deal but, for me personally, looking at £600 for a Boardman Hybrid 8.6 this deal gets it down to £510 as opposed to £480 back at Easter. Even at £480 I think the Boardman is expensive as I am not convinced by the build quality with them. Just thinking out loud here.

So a good deal if you get the bike you want at a price that you consider you are happy with but, frankly, I think Halfords are pricing themselves out of the market with a lot of their bikes. No wonder I am seeing lots of the cheaper Carrera brand on the cycle paths this summer.

Yeah, I found finding places with my size in stock (XL) for many bikes (especially sub-£1000 ones) was a real challenge.

I agree that the prices seem higher than historically (based on prices I saw mentioned online from last year etc), ultimately I wanted a bike now rather than in a few months so was happy to find a fairly good deal as I was about to resign myself to spending £1k+! Based on the prices I saw, the Boardman I got seems like quite a good spec for the money. Time will tell how it lasts but people seem to think they are no worse than other brands at the same price point.

I suspect the etailers had to discount heavy at the end of last summer to sell stock and are compensating this year by higher prices and less stock to keep margins up.

I have a lot of doubt about carbon frame forks on bikes from a safety POV. I follow the Aussie carbon bike guru on YouTube who does all the videos showing carbon forks that have failed or who has examined carbon forks and found them to have manufacturing faults in them.

With the Boardmans I am more concerned because I have no idea who manufactures their carbon forks.

I was having a surf this morning and came across this - sorry, do not mean to worry you.

Go for Carrera 900£ then get discounts using topcashbacj discounts like this to get it down... Back when week was big I used

Top cash back, British cycking discount, weekend 10% off Halfords, and zeek vouchers, zeek refferals got it for around 600£
Halford are running a competition for the voodoo but I can't figure out how to enter as its Instagram and I don't really use it.
