I have made a slight mistake when ordering (maybe a big mistake) I have ordered:

Primacy 4
225/50 R17 W (98)

Most websites suggest I should be using
225/50 W (94) but I have accidentally ordered 225/50 W (98) how much of an issue is this? Newbie to ordering tyres normally get part worns from my local garage.

Not an Issue in terms of fitment. Will be perfectly fine for your car. However the last digits refer to the load rating.

This forum will give you a quick oversight about the difference in numbers.

You'll be fine the last figures refer to load.

39923357-klc35.jpgAs long as its not a van you'll be fine
94 = 670kg of load per tyre
98 = 750kg of load per tyre
Thanks all, for Refrence our car is a Ford S Max Titanium 2.0
Pilot sport 4s' are so expensive...

Luckily Amazon sent me Contisport 6s instead of the 5's which I ordered 🤭
Thanks for posting
Cheers OP was looking for a Primacy 4. Good timing.

The main issue may be insurance. If you need to claim and you don't have the manufacturere specified tyres, it'll be a get out clause for the insurer.

It should be fine as you specified a tyre with a superior load rating (the weight the tyre can safely handle) that is beyond the manufacturers standard specs. I only be concerned if its the other way round (going below) as you'll be compromising on safety then.

Perfect, I have checked my tyres this morning and am pretty concerned by what I have seen.

Front left tyre 225/50/R17 94v
Front right tyre 225/50/R17 98h
Back left 225/50/R17 98w
Back right 225/50/R17 94w

Is this common with getting part worn tyres from a garage?

I would not worry. The H rated tyres are good for 130mph, the v for 149 and the w tyres are overkill!

They are all the same size so you are good
Saved me £50 on 2x 275 35 R19 PS4S 👏🏻
