See link for terms and conditions - turns out it doesnt quite apply to everything

No DVD's then. That's why it didn't work. Suppose I'll survive without the 17p saving

No media? Tight gits.

I don't really get how this will help consumers. Retailers of large price items often fix their ex-VAT prices so that the inc-VAT prices are £XXX.99 and so on. Once the change comes in, are they not just going to adjust their prices up, so that the inc-VAT price still end in .99? Thus it will help retailers, not consumers. On lower priced items, it will make hardly any difference, definitely not enough to make me think, wow a 2.13% discount, I must buy that now.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I can't see many prices being affected at all, but here's hoping. Only makes a big difference on larger items I guess.

Cheers. Just saved 12p

just saved 4 quid on cinema system..!!!

what happened to it? Because I would happily swap my 250GB non backwards compatible PS3 for a 60GB backwards compatible one just so I could play Ico again

At work as of the 1st we are on the new 15% rate anyway. Good deal though if you need something before then. I dont know if people know but the government have reduced VAT to 15% for 13 months but they are putting 2p extra on fuel permanently! Grrr! :x

If I bought something the other day would I be eligible to get any money back for for that purchase because don't they have some sort of price policy? Is it worth a try do ye think?

Erm and putting VAT back up to 17.5% in 2010 and also increasing NI contributions from that date.

You get the Government you deserve if you waste your time voting........

Just saved £1.60 and double Ipoints :w00t:

(I'm happy cos I wasn't paying but am keeping the points, all 700 )

Woot! Just saved £0.32 on a £14.99 purchase ;o)

Ha-ha, thats fab, i'd never thought of that! Lets face it though they'll keep everything £1 and make an extra 2p on everything!
I can see why they have done it but its not really to help the consumer, more the small businesses which is good i suppose. Not impressed at the 2p fuel increase and like someone else commented above about putting NI up as well. Grump lol! ;-)

Damn! I ordered an orange ipod nano this morning and have just checked to see if it would have worked on the order and it would have!

Have sent a nice email to amazon to see if they will apply it to the order for me.

Cheers

not to mention that alcohol duty will rise by 8 per cent on Monday, offsetting the cut in VAT. :x
