It only contains essentials like oil change, spark plugs (petrol) and one filter change. Overpriced.

It's the stamp you're really paying for. When I had my Focus Rs they actually offered me a good price on a service. Normally I'd DIY but the car was brand new
Years ago took our Galaxy to Ford dealership for its annual service. They said it needed new brake pads all round saying there was only a couple of thousand left in them. I declined.

Fast forward 12 months and the next service and no mention of the pads (service sheet had green status for them).
A few sarcastic comments from me to the service manager ending with a promise I'd never use them again (and never did).

So cold from me.

Ford servicing prices are stupidly expensive and unfortunately some people still think they have to use a main stealer to keep their car warranty active.
Any VAT registered independant garage can service your car and as long as they use oem parts it won't affect the warranty.

Replaced my brakes, within 6 months they were scraping. Took the car back and was told it was excessive driver wear. Never been back since.

That’s true but it will probably affect the resale value.
Whenever I've traded my cars into a dealer they weren't interested in where it was serviced they just needed to see the stamped book and official VAT receipt but maybe a private buyer may prefer a main dealer stamp because of the false belief main dealers give a better service because you're paying 3 times more.

Lol paying for service they only change oil, air filter, oil filter and maybe cabin filter...
All the rest is just a check this and check that.
Then charge you hundreds for the inconvenience.
You can get £20 off the £159 motorcraft service, which although doesn't include much, it covers your car for a year with full breakdown cover, including relay, at home, European etc

I seem to recall that you don't get the breakdown cover with Motorcraft Service. You need to pay the £100 odd extra for the regular sevice to get the "free" breakdown cover.
We always go for the motorcraft service & get the breakdown cover
