Please please be careful if you buy furniture check the packaging as my bed base delivered two weeks ago was covered in bugs, stuck to the packing tape and all over the headboard and Argos infestation team have been apauling to say the least.

Awful! Poor lad! Argos didnt take any responsibility for my friends situation. I've decided not to do any Christmas shopping with them this year. I know one customer wont make a difference but it's really put me off.

Yes it was bed bugs and again argos advised for pest.control to come in and my friend was left with the bill. Her Daughters have had weeks of hell trying to fight them over it. It was a new house with all new carpets and soft furnishings and she had to get rid of them all. Have they refunded you?

Christ, same here, I can't believe how unhelpful Argos have been, such a big company, you would never expect it! Apparently tho after some research I found out that they take old mattresses away in the same delivery truck and one of the guys in the infestation dept admitted after a few pauses and stutters that they only treat there vans once a week!

You should talk to my friend. It sounds so similar and I may be wrong but I think shes managed to get through to em a little. The two of you together could claim for this. Its disgusting. Inbox me if you want her fb.

He also tried to fob me off when I said Gov.uk pest control said my house needs to be treated ASAP, argos replied 'in similar cases to this we have found that once the item has been removed from the property so do the bugs!' I think he thought I was totally dumb.

If the two of us get together and report it to the news papers we might stand a chance of getting our houses sorted out 😔 thank you Dany, your poor friend, I really feel for her xx

They have only refunded the bed, I had to pay £110 to have the bed removed by a specialist company so I'm totally out of pocket! I was advised initially to get pest control in by one of the team managers but then there infestation department rang back and totally retracted paying for pest control. There must be so many people who this has happened to. I'll inbox you x

When does this end?

Not sure, they haven’t added an expiry date from what I can see.
This is an absolute JOKE from argos.

Item: Argos Home Josie Grey Single Bunk Bed Frame
link: argos.co.uk/pro…754

I bought this item last week for £119.99. When I saw this deal I thought let me check - and guess what, they have upped the price to £159.99. A £40 increase?! Like, is this even legal??

yeah a lot of them do but now they're not even trying to be discreet anymore...
Argos have simply increased their prices to cancel out of the 20% voucher.

Total joke.

You should have tweeted about it and attached Argos to the tweet. Companies don't like to be publicly shamed. That's disgusting behaviour. Argos should take full responsibility for it, paid for the removal and compensation. Did you report it to Trading Standards and Environmental Health? I would.

Hi Lou, yes it's discusting isn't it, I have reported it to trading standards, spoken to environmental health but they weren't interested, just pointed me in the direction of citizens advice, to which I already have a case open, next step is to go public if they don't settle my bill, I was so happy when someone else same forward yesterday, I don't feel like I'm battling this on my own now, I'm sure there must be so many who have been affected, another thing that worried me was that the bugs were attached to the packing tape also, which sugests they were there at packing, and the bed is made in China so they could be foreign bugs, to which I rang the government pest control department and they didn't seem interested either, just said I must get the house treated immediately!
