Shame doesn't work on pre orders

True, didn't think it would though
Hot from me! It's working on some items that they have posted on the main page but as you say they're still updating things. Here's hoping for some cheap Blu-rays!!

Anyone else having trouble looking at the "all Blu-rays/games/dvds" links? Can only see the main ones they have up!

Think they're still updating it, I guess it should start working after 9.00

They may not be around to honor any pre-orders anyway.

How do you find all the Blue Cross items?

Thanks goonertillidie. (boom boom!)
Is this just online? It would be great if it was in store as well as you could use the £5 off £35 vouchers too - you cant combine the bluecross code with the £5 off £35 online unfortunately.

Also instore

Is it 25% off every blu-ray in store ? so if I bought 5 for £30 would they deduct 25% off to make it £22.50 ?

Dont think you can use the 25% already on going offers
It doesn't appear to be working on certain items atm. The three Wii U accessories on offer all have a blu cross but none of them get reduced. Have tried on both my tablet and my laptop. Will try again later.
It's obviously going to be different between instore and online - I just tried the code on 4 different items I saw blue-crossed instore this morning and it didn't work on any of them. Nice and confusing. X)

Nothing currently in a multi-buy offer is blue-crossed.

Are you one of those odd people who will be dancing on their grave? Some people seem determined for HMV to go under just so they can say "told you so" and act all smug about something that hasn't happened in the 3 years people have been going on about it.
I've tried applying the code to two non-DVD/Blu-Ray items marked with a Blue Cross, but it doesn't work. :\
I'm thinking it's not going to start until tomorrow 'cause I've heard it starts on the 12th - just tried the code on 2 blu-rays and doesn't work yet.
what a con!they've upped the price of everything on the blue cross sale, curse of frankenstein blur ray is £32! with 25pct,off,HMV's usual racket (_;)
working for me now
Thanks
If the item's currently blue-crossed are the full list, then this is going to be the biggest anti-climax ever. Given that HMV are almost always more expensive than main competitors I was hoping it would be 25% of everything.
I thought it was ment to be everything not just old dvds,blu-rays and cds that are all over priced anyway
Well it's been clear from the moment it was announced it wasn't going to be everything so I'm not sure why anyone would think that.

Apart from needing the cash they also need to change public perception that they are too expensive. A highly publicised sale that isn't cheaper than the competition is a huge own goal.
They are too expensive for back catalogue, but they're usually the cheapest / as cheap as online for pre-orders and new releases.
Looks like they are trying to clear the rubbish
I hope they do go under with the prices in this sale!

Shocking!
Ah it works now. I got Everybody's Golf on Vita and a Yoshi plushie.

I hope you lose your job with an attitude like that.

If you are thinking of buying the David Lynch bluray boxset from HMV, DO NOT. They are still selling the faulty boxset that was released before they recalled them and sent out working sets. It has the exact same problems. DO NOT BUY.
This is not a clearance sale. They are merely reducing the back catalogue prices perhaps to clear some shelf space?. You may get lucky instore and find some good value items.

HMV did a clever thing. They saw their future in doubt in the press and used a promotion and the press happily gobbled it up and freely advertised it. Zavvi should send their 80% off email to the press inboxes. They will probably get a front page article on it.
I went instore and there was a glitch at the counter.

I bought:

- Season 2 - Hereo's - £5 (pre owned)
- Couples Retreat - £3 (also to apply 25% off offer. other words 75p off)
- Along came Polly - £3 (also offer)

It should of been £9.50 altogether however it came up as £8.25 for some reason.

So there maybe a glitch with using 25% instore.

Maybe this could help some people!

Beware placing any HMV orders. Just been confirmed they are calling in Administrators tomorrow.
Of course if you have HMV vouchers you should use them immediately. May not be honoured once administrators take control.
crap
I'd heard rumours - probably spurious - that the blue cross sale was due to be slashed to fifty per cent. Whilst HMV's prices are usually uncompetitive compared to online losing them is going to be bad. I guess less highstreet competition from online could suggest online retailers can boost their prices because there's no alternative any more.

Any way, not great at all.
