You can save more by going direct if you have the time to shop around, boiler juice was great years ago but now just a money making machine making you think your getting a better deal.
Ive had heating oil for over 20 years.
Best way is to try and fill the tank to the brim june/july time where you get the best summer price and hopefully get it to last for the next year.

Useful info thanks. I am in my first house that has needed oil but still found Boilerjuice cheaper than a couple of others i tried. Do you have any recommendations for supplier? I realise it may differ by location!
Try: oil-club.co.uk/. Boiler Juice quote for me was 45p per litre. Oil Club 43p for my area.
I used to get price from boilerjuice then phone up local companies and most would price match. Then my village set up an oil buying group so we now get a bulk buy price and someone in our village kindly negotiates best price from our local oil suppliers. We still pay direct to oil supplier so just saves us having to phone around to get a best price.

Worth checking if your area has same sort of thing.

I just got 500litres at 42.99 per litre exc VAT and I'm in south east.

I live in Worcestershire and theres about 10+ diffrent suppliers, use boilerjuice to get your base cost then see what prices your local suppliers can do. Some will match and upgrade the heating oil to one with additives.
Some good info from other members 🖒
Also size of tank makes a difference 1000ltrs gets a better price than say buying 600.
Mines 1300ltrs so i run it down to the last 50 before getting filled my neighbours is 1800 and he can stretch his year to year.(Weather Depending)
I also use apollo oil monitor for the last 5 years and is pretty good for usage stats costs day to day use ect. Had oil watchman before but after replacing them nearly evey year i got the apollo.
Also one other thing that can help is make sure you get your oil jet changed in the boiler every year makes a big difference on oil burnage.
Worcester Bosch engineer told me this.
