Sunday Times offer to get 50% off at union coffee.

I am a bit of a coffee snob and always avoid the high street chains when possible. Lots of the independents around London use Union and they have some great coffee and blends.

Even if you dont have an expensive espresso machine at home its worth trying some freshly roasted beans in your french press or stove top as the freshness makes a world of difference to the coffee.

What a rippoff. £3.00 shipping on a 250g bag of coffee! Its cheaper just to add it to your Ocado shop with free delivery Union Organic Ethiopia, Yirgacheffe Coffee @ Ocado

Besides, they really cant call themselves a gourmet coffee outlet without selling any Jamaican blends. Jamaican Blue Mountain has to be tasted to be believed.

Buying from a re-seller means the coffee has spent time in transit from union to the re-seller, then in storage and then to your door meaning they loose a significant amount of their freshness. Buying direct is very important, yes £3 shipping is expensive on one bag, but it is not if you are buying more than that.

Jamaican Blue Mountain is absurdly over priced for what it is, equally interesting and exotic flavours can be found in great blends which is where the quality of Union as a roaster shines.
At 50% off this is a great chance for TRUE coffee fans to get a taste of some of the best beans out there. meglaman2000 is right if you're after a cheap one off 'deal' on a bag. dont waste your time, but if you' appreciate great coffee, use the coupon.

What are saying i'm not a "TRUE" coffee fan because I dont buy coffee of them. Some serious snobs on here, besides, they have to import the coffee themselves so its not exactly fresh when you get it, most coffee is roasted in the place of origin.

most coffee is roasted in the place of origin.

I would say that comment right there was more likely to mean you are not a "true fan". It is complete rubbish, coffee is imported green and roasted in the country of 'packing' not necessarily in the UK with supermarkets etc.Importing green means it does not lose its freshness as you suggest. Companies like Union roast to order, as in the day before it is sent to your door, they also produce some fantastic blends making them one of the most respected coffee roasters.

But look, anyone can like coffee, some people genuinely enjoy the dishwater they get out of a vending machine, some just appreciate fresh and varied blends. It is no different to some people enjoying a £4 bottle of wine and other turning their nose up at such a notion and only drinking more premium wines with fuller more intricate flavours.

Call it snobbish if you like. Its very easy for someone to appear condescending or snobbish to someone who has little to no idea what they are on about.

You are wrong. Only a very small amount of coffee is actually roasted in the market they are sold. Even the myriad of beans available at my local selfridges ( a far finer selection than this rip off merchant) is roasted in the location it was grown. Indeed until the bean has been ground the freshness remains intact provided it is stored in an oxygen free enviromenment that is cool.

The single most important factor in the taste of coffee is the quality of bean.

Your dismissal of Blue Mountain as absurdly over priced is an indication that you know nothing of fine coffee. Nothing but nothing has the rich yet uncannily smooth taste of this mana from heaven. Its also not as expensive as you think

I have it subscribed on amazon for under a £8 for a 125g bag.
Even if you could back up that wild claim with proof, lets bring it back to the merchant in question shall we. They roast the day before delivery, it states it right there on the offer page, your 'most coffee' is irrelevant.

Blue mountain is absurdly over priced. I have tried it and enjoyed it many a time, but it is not worth the premium paid for the bean when you can get equally interesting favours with other beans.

Fresh roasted beans makes a world of difference, I have had the same beans fresh after roasting and just a month after this stored in air-tight packets and the difference is huge.

I have also USED union coffee before, and can attest to their quality and great blends. If you drink coffee in any sort of amount a few bags bought here with 50% off and £3 delivery is a great deal, and would cost you less than buying beans from your supermarket.
Anyone know when this offer expires?
Damn, just got time to order just now and voucher has expired
Update, code does work but max order is 2kg. I was trying to order 5kgs and the code wasn't being accepted. Placed 2 orders for 2kgs coffee. Thanks OP!
