Some will be ok and do the job. Other branches will "helpfully" notice other things that "need repairing" and offer to do the work for you at exorbitant prices - and chances are the work does not need doing anyway. Just a warning for the unwary who might make use of this deal.

just refuse any extra work. I agree most wont need doing so only bother if you dont have uniform tread wear on your tyres (assuming correctly inflated)
nice one
Shockingly poor service in the Doncaster branch. Bought a new tyre and when I got it home and was about to fit it to the car I could hear a hissing noise as if was leaking air.

Drove back and pointed it out to them and they took it inside and within seconds they came back with it saying there was nothing wrong with it at all and told not to worry...

Got it home again (still hissing) and fitted it. The next morning the tyre was as flat as a fart and had to go back again and was told that it was probably because of my alloy which was really worn and there was nothing for the tyre to 'grip' to (they said nothing of this the day I bought it). I asked for a refund and was told that because it was a sunday they couldn't give me a refund as their head office was closed and to go back (yet again) the following morning.

I went back and was told the money would be back on my card within the next few working days, it took weeks of chasing them before they finally gave me my money back over a month later.

**** company that should be avoided, I went around the corner and had a new tyre fitted at Charlie Browns. They fitted the new tyre and I've had no problems at all and they charged the same as national did.
I have had track rod end replaced. After replacement I visited National Tyres to get wheel alignment done. During test drive I noticed my steering wheel is 2-3 degrees to the right side. So I went back to correct it. After check up they said there was nothing wrong and couldn't give me any idea for solution. ''They'' said it might be due to new tie rod end (needs to settle in, hehe). I realised my camber is out as well. They could not confirm this diagnosis of mine. Now I had to go somewhere else to correct this problem. Very same day camber was corrected. So I went back to National Tyres for alignment correction. After that visit I could not feel control in offside front wheel ( same one with fixed camber problem). My mechanic could not find any problem in my steering system. Little percent in me believed that track rod end must settle in (even my mechanic said its not a matter). After driving my potentially dangerous car for a few days I have decided to go to get alignment in a place with professional staff and equipment. I have had to pay again for the same thing after 5 days. After putting my car on their device readings showed 0.01 in a left wheel and 0.18 in the right one. It took them not more than 2 min to get it sorted. After I took it for a drive it was spot on, car goes straight and wheel is straight too. Great Job.
Next day I went to national tyres to claim a refund. They refused to pay. They said their readings were accurate and everything was done properly.
They also said they have done 60 cars in this week and only mine was making a problem. They just proved how useless they are with no required skills.
No wonder every mechanic was telling me to avoid National Tyres.
Well, a BIG lesson for the future. Avoid this company if you care about your safety.
Do not let them tempt you with their cheap service, it's useless.
Thank you.
