I read the law may change. It does make sense. No more dangerous than an electric bike.

You beat me by 8 minutes.

As Marrs said all those years ago...put the needle on the record. Let's spin that disc one more time.
Good technology, Although this country is not ready for electric change.
I had returned mine after police officer started explaining me legality and issued warning.

UK became biggest economy snail among leading countries. Limited by inability to develop laws to protect residents, without sacrificing insurance industry.

Butch holiday in Europe, people switch to el.scooter as this gadget is AWSOME.
Btw, xiaomi pro is recommended for adults as I am 90kg and Simple Xiaomi m365 model struggle to pull 3-5 degrees incline.

Or if you live outside town/city get yourself one of more expensive scooters 1800watt as it is game changer in extreme activity’s. I tested one in Lake District tourist tracks- hard describe the joy. 10out of 10.
£1500 price mark stopped me from keeping it. But I’d love one with sand and water protection kit to try on sandy beaches.
If petition to be launched friends and family supported 100%

If they ask for it to be insured and for you to wear safety gear then why not, if they adapt bike requirements on these it would be fine.

Just get a 5000w scooter from Maike on Alibaba for £1,400 with delivery. 0-60 in a few seconds, I doubt the police cars would even bother after you cut down a side road. No noise for them to follow, too.

Not obligated to wear safety gear while cycling, never have been and never needed to be insured. So why with these little toys?
God it must be embarrassing to be one of those commenters that states "not legal". Don't you think the country knows by now?

Exactly.....You are no more of a threat to a pedestrian or otherwise on one of these than a bicycle electric or not. Someone please tell me the difference.....so if i hit a pedestrian who steps out in front of me on my bike doing 15mph its their fault but if the same happens while on a scooter its my fault as it shouldn't be on the road.....but why shouldn't it??? other than the antiquated law??
Sort it out UK, and stop trying to always blame someone else for people not paying attention, maybe if they looked where they were going, instead of looking at their phones, less accidents would happen. Or adopt the green cross code...stop look listen and believe it or not you CAN cross a road safely EVEN in london.
