Been to Howletts wildlife park (which is the other Aspinall Foundation park, near Canterbury) a couple of weeks ago and it was well worth the visit, kid loved it. I thought it was way better than London Zoo with the bonus of having no queues to get in, not being overcrowded and with plentiful free parking.
Just stick the kids in the boot. It’s always free that way . And the wife.
I bet those animals in captivity wish they too could 'go free'! lol
I went today and to be honest the Asian Experience wasn’t one of the highlights. The animals I remember in that area were the bears, camels, horses and buck. The African Experience (safari drive through rhinos, zebras, giraffes (including baby giraffes) and loads of buck), Primate Experience (including a very cute/very small baby gorilla) and new Dinosaur Walk (at least 30 life size very realistic models) were all highly enjoyable. I believe the full list of animals is here https://www.aspinallfoundation.org/port-lympne/wildlife-park/animals/.
It's cheap in September

The id badge is what gets them in for free. It has there photo on. Its so folks don’t just buy / trade badges I guess. Mine just showed the card not the badge itself at all the attractions we’ve been too,but I usually pack them in case they are asked for.
So am I right in thinking that to go free for say Port Lympe, the Blue Peter badge is not enough to get them in - they will have to wait until they get their ID badge, then have to show the Blue Peter badge and the ID badge at the same time? Thank you.
It did take a while perhaps even longer than 10 weeks. I can’t remember exactly, I know the ID card comes separately and after the badge can’t remember if you send off for it not sorry I know it seems a faff but they last until there 16.
It says on the website it takes up to 10 weeks to get the badge. Did it take that long for your badge to come through? Apart from a badge, do you need to send off a photo for an ID card as well? Thank you.
