Bremont make very good watches- but would be looking at spending no more than £3000 on this model - 40% off isn't unheard of, and even 50% off has been seen

A picture of mine, but on the Stainless Steal bracelet. A different colour to the one posted, and the display would be blue if it had a new battery. Not a big watch at all.

GunMetal

A bit ugly imho but each to their own. Good brand

tonyspoons

Just one left in stock, all aboard the hype train (party) (anyone from here grabbed one?) I think it's a lovely watch (even if it wouldn't have been my choice for my wedding present) a little tall on the wrist but a slightly more understated T-Touch option if they tickle your fancy

tonyspoons

Wearing one right now, bit of a coincidence! Edit: more usefully, this is a large watch. 42mm case (I think) but stonking 50mm lug to lug and 13mm thick. The features are good, but compass (like anyone is going to use it) frequently needs recalibrating and I've no idea what the tide function is all about. Mine was my wedding present from my wife in 2015 when I think it was £450. I've stopped wearing it on the leather strap as it's getting a bit tired, and I rotate it through straps at random. Not my daily driver.

peter1969uk

I've got one of these. I bought it years ago returning from Egypt, I had some local cash I needed to get rid of. It's got a flat battery and was only used a couple of times. This isn't a bad price, I think mine worked out at £400.

I changed my own, nothing to it, just 4 screws. I bought a cheap watch back removal kit for about £10 from amazon that includes all kinds of tools for all different watches.

peter1969uk

Maybe, either way a good watch for work. I need to get the batteries changed on mine.

rhinopaul

Yours looks the same as the post so maybe the posted one is 2. Here is mine which is not a 2.

peter1969uk

This is mine but it’s the touch expert II. I’ve no idea what the difference is to this one.

I completely agree. Some of the designs are poor, but that's true of every brand. Finishing is always best in class though. The Snowflake is iconic though <3 https://www.watchfinder.co.uk/articles/review-grand-seiko-snowflake-sbga21

MCYounes

For every pretty GS there also a horror show. Casio Edifce for nearly 9K anyone? 2019 piece that's lost 35% of it's RRP.

Sharpharp

iguanasell looks like a knock-off website, they are not featured on the official authorisors list

LotusJas

Shhh.... keep it quiet. You don't want everyone to know about GS ;) (I have a Snowflake btw, and it's just awesome)

LotusJas

Yes agreed about depreciation, but there are many more that don't fall off a cliff like a Tag does. Nomos comes to mind, and I'm sure there are lots more.

Such a nice watch, and am sorely tempted. Just note the watch pictured in the deal is the Longines L2.759.4.78.3, whereas the actual watch the deal is for is the Longines L2.629.4.78.3

deleted1105004

You could leave it running, I can’t see why you couldn’t. Personally I think it looks better with just the sub dial running though but that’s just preference.

currybum2

Thanks. But would you/could you leave it running full time, or is it designed just for use in chronograph mode please?

deleted1105004

Yes it will constantly sweep once the chrono is activated, the sub dial @ 9 is a second counter.

currybum2

Silly question. Can the main second hand sweep continously? If locked, looks like a quartz like my seiko solar.

Camuca1

Unfortunately you are always going to get idiots. These are people who just do it for the sake of doing it. These aren't serious watch people. Just ignore them, they just crave attention

deleted1105004

Because this guy will post on every single watch thread (mainly mine and the OP’s) telling people they are a waste of money and laugh at the fact some decrease in value. I just like to prove a point, he hasn’t done it since I’ve done this so maybe this has actually worked.

Camuca1

Oh for heavens sake why you posting the same stuff day in day out . Please respond to the people directly instead of having a public vendetta on here. It's one person's view on watches and who really cares (except you of course)

deleted1105004

Another £131 up overnight, have I proven you wrong yet? (y) So exactly 15 days since you told me watch prices are tanking and took great pride in it, a watch I have has risen exactly £450. I do notice you don’t say much now.

I wish I'm skint at the moment, currently furloughed. To be honest I got the U-boats and the Graham Silverstone Stow at a cracking price. From a jeweller who had shut up shop and was clearing his old stock. All with manufactures warranties £5600 for the 6 watches. At the time the Silverstone Stow was around £5000 RRP on it's own. It's a limited edition of 250 pieces. The two U-boats 42 are limited of a 1000 pieces. I got a copy of his purchase invoices, and I paid la lot less than he paid for them. He was just after cash as he was moving abroad. The ZENITH PILOT TYPE 20 CHRONOGRAPH TON UP 11.2430.4069/21.C773 is a lovely colour in person. Seeing it on the net, I didn't like it too much. When I saw it in store, I really like it and obviously ended up buying it. I especially like the etching on the back of the watch. https://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Zenith-Pilot-Type-20-Chronograph-Ton-Up-11.2430.4069/21.C773/p/17640520/ I didn't pay Goldsmith price, there have been a few good deals knocking around for it.

Shekar902

You have far too much money. Also is that a Zenith Pilot?! Its a stunning colour.

peter1969uk

I really have no idea, why I'm so fussy on the crown. These are some of my watches, when you look at the crowns (oversized) or Crown guards / protectors, or even the mechanisms for winding or operating the Chrono features. These look weird, but for some reason I liked it on the watches.

deleted1105004

It’s the 36, the crown is a little pointy but nowhere near as bad as the pic makes out. Maybe it’s different on the 42. I love the Calibre de Cartier’s you posted earlier in the thread, tried one on before Xmas but the black dial on the rubber strap.

peter1969uk

is that the 42mm version? I have tried a 42mm version on a while ago. But the crown design does put me off.
