My flight from Aberdeen to Birmingham in December was £0.04 each way plus taxes, now it is £0.02 each way plus taxes. Pity I can't get Quidco as well.......Now, what to spend the savings on?:)
Thanks seancampbell and m_J_oneill :) I have previously used the MSE flight checker, but never had much luck myself. The cheap flights always seem to dissapear when i get to the actual site to book them  think this could just be down to bad timing though. It's still a handy tool to use!
Use the MSE flight checker: http://flightchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/ It basically allows you to search for cheap flights (before the tax is added) without having to enter loads of dates into the airlines flight search engine. I have never managed to find a flight less than 5 quid, until I started to use this, and now I find them all the time. Worth going on the site and reading the background, it will explain it all. I have pasted a little bit below: The MoneySavingExpert.com FlightChecker is specifically designed to counter the marketing of budget airline sales. A ‘million seats at 1p’ sounds great, but try and book and suddenly they’re a struggle to find, never mind the charges on top. The FlightChecker is designed to find the dirt cheap flights. Enter a range of travel dates e.g. May to August, where you want to go, or say ‘anywhere’ and the maximum flight price you’re willing to pay e.g. £5 each way and it finds each flight that fits the criteria, in a couple of seconds. The FlightChecker is non-commercial, there are no links with any of the airlines covered. This is one of the reasons I had it developed. After all, there’s no incentive for a commercial technology to get a commission cut of a 1p flight! It was originally developed with the help of one very clever site user who mastered this type of technology (and the International and UK CallCheckers now work a similar way). What’s the difference between a screenscraper and the FlightChecker? Screenscrapers provide instant prices by going to websites to get a quote for a specific holiday. The FlightChecker uses spidering technology which enables it to build a massive database of current flights by constantly trawling the sites and grabbing all the info, cycling through every few hours. This method of data collection means it must list the pre-taxes and charges prices, as absurdly the budget airlines are allowed to list them this way. The standard additional cost is £15 to £20 each way, simply add this on top.
http://www.villarenters.com/villas-to-rent/alicante/default.htm 3 bed villa with private pool £322 a week at that time.. so £644 + flights + meals... and about 40 euros on taxi to villa for a 2 week trip... Well worth it.
