I love people's attitude. This is a freebie because you don't have to pay for it. If you want it there and then go and buy a smoothie
It seems a lot of effect doing a marathon, just to get a free drink (_;) If I'd just completed to race, I'd want the drink there and then and not have to wait until I visited their shop.

They get some that way, anyone can donate directly though. And I'd imagine it's more a case of they can't put it back on the shelf than it must legally be destroyed.
Food bank get food direct from the supermarket, if food has been out to the public then it has to be thrown away. I bought some baby milk but got the wrong type, I returned it to Asda where I was told that any food returns have to be thrown away because of the possibility of it being tampered with.
Then how do food banks do it?
I'm talking about sealed, ie bottles of coke etc.
