Yeah, we went to 3 different CarpetRight stores over the past week, and ended up buying the same carpet we fancied there from Storey carpets yesterday for about £40 less (£450 vs £490). I did get 2 local guys round, as they've both been brilliant in the past, but neither could get anything near what we wanted in that price range so I'm guessing that for once we've got a reasonable deal from the sharks. If it helps anyone, I've found a place in Hull that sells Tredaire Dreamwalk underlay (about as good as you can get) for a fraction of the shop price with cheap delivery: http://www.tradepriced.co.uk/tredaireapt_carpet_underlay.html The big retailers will try and charge you about £12 a metre for this stuff!

I came across this discount when we were looking for carpets but we didn't use them in the end as we went with a local supplier. Personally, I think they're overpriced, and their starting price is so high that even with the discounts applied it is often still much more expensive than a local supplier. As you say, if you are going to buy at Carpet Right you do need to be aware of the additional charges which aren't discounted (Delivery, underlay, gripper rods, fitting etc.) and use the discount code to get the cost down as much as possible.

I was looking at this last night - they charge £45 for delivery!!!

Dammit! Can somebody please change the dates to 2009? Oops.

Let me tell you something about Carpetwright alleged sales. We looked at a carpet priced at £100 a metre. The local guy sold the same carpet at £29 and did not charge for gripper. Plus his underlay was half the price of Carpetwright, Ask Carpetwright how much it costs for gripper!! Scary

Still around & working...........

THis has been running for years, used this on my one of my properties about 6 years ago, can't see this being pulled anytime soon. To be honest you'll find most of the carpets won't be valid as it doesn't cover off the roll carpets either and a lot (and certainly the ones you'd probably want) would be already 60% discounted anyway.... Still good discount though!
