I guess it must have expired.

Am I missing something here? Just went to buy it but it comes up pretty much full price?

I ordered a new x-t4 from Fuji uk and they sent an x-t3. Hardly inspires trust.

As a stills camera there are few equals at this price, specially with weather sealing. Maybe a Pentax K-70, but that's a heavy lump. For video, this one is also fabulous if you can work around the annoying 'pulsing' effect as the autofocus swings around trying to lock on. All recent Panasonic cameras do this because of their 'DFD' system. They must have gotten into a compatibility trap whereby if they put phase detection in their cameras their lenses will stop working or something. Anyway, it's good.

I paid about 550 for this from John Lewis in November last year with both the kit lens and 25mm f1.7. I'm not saying this isn't a good deal but food for thought. Might be worth waiting for prime day. Happy with the camera as my first "good" one.

So typical isn't it. Got mine from Argos in March for £599, luckily I haven't opened it, so have secured this one and will rtn Argos one when they finally open for rtns

Bloody hell I bought it with the 25mm lens recently for £470 the 12-60mm lens is what I would have preferred but it was £100 dearer Balls

i know the feels. i have an old nikkor 50mm f1.4 MF i picked up for 15£ at a carboot sale :)

I never use auto with old lenses. I don't use retro lenses with built in electronics, just full manual, but I think you can get speed boosters that allow auto focus to work (I know you can for my Sony anyway). My Oly body has built in stabilisation.

can you get any full functionality with old lens? sony alpha dslrs are basically minolta optics with sony electronics, and have built in body anti shake system. with vintage lens and full light metering and autofocus pics are pending. im on my way home what i also love about old basic bodies is that i need to read manuals and learn a little. if i only rely on auto mode i might as well use my phone

I meant micro four thirds. I use retro lenses on my Olympus Om Em ii. I actually use that more than my Sony, which is too heavy and has the loudest shutter sound I've ever heard (embarrassingly so). Yes it was expensive and it's not justifying its cost because I just love my mirrorless Olympus too much. Can get plenty of mirrorless cameras for less than £100 now from Camera Jungle and MPB. With advancements is sensor technology I don't think you're losing much over crop sensor cameras, and gaining plenty.

sorry, i dont know what an m43 is. 4/3 sensor? sony A7 is something i woild like to have. what puts me off it is price (although cheap for a full frame), and lens price. it can take minolta lens but it would lose automatic features. i would never say d80 is above it, but for the price it gives access to some sweet cheap leans. same as any cheap old sony alpha dslr above 200 model. also d80 can stay on for literal months until battery drains out. or have it for a week of hundreds of photos a day before it needs recharging. and drop it on the pavement without much remorse, it only costs 100£. i dont want to sound like the fanboy i am, i just love cheap alternatives. and a 50mm f1.8 is a 50mm f1.8 in any situation besides full frame, especially from brands like minolta and nikkor. a body price reflects only the easiness with which it takes a good photo. but what i do love on mirrorless systems is that lens can reach some exotic specs never possible on full frame dslr. worth the price? ill share some old photos i took with my old semi vintage gear and you will judge

Lower iq though

That’s true

I think that only works with SAM and SSM lenses - this one has an in built motor so compatible with many more lenses and probably focuses faster using PDAF in most cases.

Thought this was a new mirrorless from Sony, decided the design was ridiculous, read the description, felt the need to apologise.

Be better off with the laea3

A very decent deal, thanks OP

Goodness that would have been an ideal starter camera for me. I see loads on eBay now. Probably someone bought a shed load at this price.

The ebay parasites on here do that. Buy a dozen and more and sell on eBay

I think it was a price error as it states normally £259 but £10 off while stocks last

IBIS is still worth it for some situations... even with full frame, in darker situations if you want low noise, IBIS could help a lot. Though it is a lot of extra money for pretty much just this feature, and makes it worth considering a jump up to an A7r ii, which has IBIS plus 4K video, 42mp sensor, electronic shutter (silent) etc etc (though is another £400 on top).

as far as i know yeah, never used them personally but saw no posts about problems could always get john lewis to pricematch them

Thanks. So camera world is a good shop and definitely eligible for the cashback? Sorry I never bought from them.

sony is the brand just "Dispatched from and sold by AB Online." app stinks it seems (edit: scroll down a bit)

I believe it’s dispatched by Sony that’s why I was considering. Plus with amazon I find it easier to deal with returns and deliveries.
